The PlayStation 3 Thread 80GB Edition

The main boss characters and ultimate bad guys will end up being a bunch of white males so I don't think anyone should worry. Political correctness is a b*tch. -

Besides Gamestop, is there any local gaming shops in your area? For example, a few days ago I called in to the Gamestop I usually go and got the trade in value of a few PS2 and original Xbox games I was wanting to get rid of. The next day I stopped at one of the local Gamers stores to see what kind of trade in values I could get. In the case of some of the games where I was offered like $3-$5 at Gamestop, I was typically offered $10-$15 for the same exact games. Of the games I was going to get rid of at Gamestop to help pay for my Legendary edition of Halo 3, I only traded in one Xbox game and a few movies. The rest I traded off at Gamers to apply towards some upcoming games I have on preorder throught them. The bottom line is to shop around with your trade ins when you can. -

When my launch system broke down a year ago July, there were a lot of specific questions the Microsoft people went through with me. It wasn't until I got the 3 red rings and a specific error screen message about two weeks after my system started going funny did they finally agree that something was indeed wrong and sent me my cardboard "coffin". I've had my refurbished unit for just a little over a year and it seems to be holding up even after MANY hours of playing Gears of War, Guitar Hero II, Call of Duty II, and numerous other games. Speaking of Gears of War, I just need to get the "THIS! IS! ANNEX!" achievement and "Seriously" achievements on this game. I need about 5,000 more online kills to get "Seriously...". Looks like I'll be playing Gears for another year or two! -
A few pictures of me from last month. One from when Space Shuttle Atlantis was at Offutt last month and from a friend's wedding downtown. I turn 34 next month (yikes!).

At the stores I usually go to here in the Omaha area, a lot of the Transformers movie toys have vanished during the last few weeks. Can't even find a Bonecrusher. Did see the Ultimate Bumblebee at a Wal-mart on Sunday for $79.95.

Robotech and HG license debates

I know we are not suppose to talk about the Tommy Yune incident any further, but I BEG that I post this link because it is relative to the point I tried to make in the now closed thread about how serious of a situation this was and could have been: Camper arrested for assault using water balloons. One of the campers that got hit in the face by the other camper's "water balloons" may end up loosing sight in his one eye. What on the surface sounds like a juvenille act turned out to be a very serious situation where one man may now lose part of his sight and the perp. could now potentially go to jail and/or be sued for every penny that he has. What if Adam Schiller's action resulted in more then just some humiliation to Tommy Yune? That is all. -

Brian "Crush" Adams found dead. Guess this thread should be retitled the "WWE and Pro-Wrestling Obituary Page". -

The All Things Video Games Thread!
Apollo Leader replied to Apollo Leader's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
The only local video game store chain that's still here in the Omaha area, Gamers, won't take import games. They did at one time, but about 10 years ago, someone sold them what was clearly bootlegged PS1 games with instructions that were painfully obvious that they were printed off of a printer at home (a nice printer, but clearly a home printer none the less). I think I was one of the first people to point this out to them, but no one would listen to me. Eventually someone caught on and the bootlegged PS1 games were removed. Soon afterwards, they stopped taking used import titles though they would occasionally sell them (used or new ones they would get in from other sources). Funny how a lot of these Japanese import titles can become big time collectors items, but sometimes it's very hard to sell them off! -

I will eventually post this over in the "For Sale" section of the Macross World boards, but I wanted to give the heads up that I have a fair number of Japanese import games for the Saturn along with with a few for the PS1, Dreamcast, Super Famicom, and Famicom I will be selling in the very near future. This includes some Macross games for these systems (M3 for the Dreamcast, Scrambled Valkyrie for the Super Famicom, and the Namco game for the Famicom). If anybody is looking for anything in particular, just let me know. I may have what you are looking for! Also have a few domestic Saturn games, Galactic Attack and Darius Gaiden, that I might be willing to part with. Today I made the decision to trade off all my remaining domestic PS1 games. This included my copy of Ridge Racer (Riiiidge Racerrrrr!) which I've had since September 9, 1995. Some of best deals I got were like Raiden Project, R-Types, and R-Type Delta which I got $20 for each (I think I bought those games for that much each). Einhader I got like $30! Not bad for a bunch of old games. As usual, it was commented on how much of my stuff was in pristened condition for 10 year old PS1 stuff! The trade ins should hopefully cover Dynasty Warriors Gundam, Call of Duty 4, and Guitar Hero III when then come out. -

That part of the video I think was to harp on that Sega got carried away with all of these hardware attachments for the Genesis/Mega Drive; it wasn't a singled out attack on the Sega CD. I am pretty confident that many out there agree that the combined package of the Sega CD, 32X, CDX, Neptune, and all their variations helped play in the eventual downfall of Sega as a console manufacturer. Putting in footage of Alien vs. Predator was not a good choice in building up the case on why the system sucked, but when it comes down to it AVP, Tempest 2000, and maybe two or 3 other games were worth getting and that's about it. When it came down to the whole Jaguar experience, the Jaguar plain sucked, no ifs ands or buts. Dude, you got to be crazy. You just spent a paragraph propping up the Jaguar, but yet you bring these two systems down? Both of these systems were the home to many of hundreds of games as opposed to what, a few dozen or so on the Jaguar? Unlike the Jaguar, both the Saturn and Dreamcast had dozens if not hundreds of first class games in ALL genres, not just one or two good games period. The Saturn was flawed in that it was the ultimate 2D machine with 3D capabilities tacked on and the Dreamcast worst flaw is that it came out a year too late (they should have gotten the US version released in 1998 instead of September 1999), but still these were systems that did decently (especially in Japan) and both systems continue to have buzz amongst gamers to this day. -
Looks like the Expert version... no friggin' way I'll be able to play that! Parts of it look more difficult then the galiath25 mod for GHII and that looked tough as it was. The last time I played GHII, I just had to beat the last 6 songs to beat Hard (Beast and the Harlot, Hangar 18, Freebird, etc.). On GHI, I just had to beat Cowboys from H3ll (had gotten 98% through when the last number of notes killed me!) and Bark at the Moon in order to have Hard beaten.

Metallica's One (master track) on GHIII! The literal battle of the bands between Guitar Hero and Rock Band continue to heat up.

If I did this deal I would probably get Apollo 13, We Were Soldiers, Sky Captain, Blazing Saddles, and either Tomb Raider or Chronicles of Riddick. -
This was the original home video that showed Blue Angel #6 going down into the nearby neighborhood at that air show in South Carolina back in April. This is the first time I've ever seen it. I'm guessing that sharp turn must have effected the pilot (ie. GLOC, gray out).

Is there a list of the movies available as part of the deal? Is your player suppose to come with King Kong? -

You must have been driving at night. Try driving I80 to or from Lincoln on a Saturday a Husker game is taking place. A few years ago, me and my dad went down to the Strategic Air and Space Museum on the Saturday before Labor Day and a Husker game was taking place early that afternoon. The trafic was backed up from Lincoln past the Platte River! In fact right now I80 is being widened too 3 lanes between Omaha and Lincoln because there is so much traffic from those who commute between both cities each day. There was a Circuit City here in Omaha for almost 10 years, but they made the mistake of opening it right across the street from the Nebraska Furniture Mart... no way they could compete. Anyway, I'm not driving a 100 mile round trip for a free 1600 MS Points. That's at least $15 in gas right there not to mention the extra wear and tear on my truck. Lately, I've been ordering my points right straight from Xbox.com. No shipping or tax. -

Xbox 360 price cuts. According to an upcoming Circuit City add, the Core will drop $20, the Premium will drop $50, and the Elite will take a $30 cut to $449.99. Also, Circuit City has a buy two Xbox Live items that are $19.99 or more and get $20 off. Using this deal, you can buy two 1600 MS Point cards for just $19.99! Unfortunately, the only Circuit City in Nebraska is 50 miles away in Lincoln and ONLY the 4000 point cards are up for sale on the Circuit City website! Aaargh! -

I was looking at those pictures to figure out if she had her leg bent and hidden through a hole in the wall. Looks like she has kept herself in great shape and has conquered her handicap. (My own dad lost his left leg above the knee in a freak motorcycle accident on his 19th birthday).

As soon as the B-2 drops any bomb, its bomb bay doors open and for a few seconds it is producing a much larger RCS; this is the same for the F-117, F-22, F-35, and any other stealth aircraft when they use an internally stored weapon. This 30,000 lbs bomb will probably give off a bigger RCS then a 2,000 lbs, 500 lbs, or any other bomb or weapon the B-2 usually uses, but ultimately, the shape is what dictates the RCS.
