  1. A bit of tape or glue ( let dry fully before insertion) to thicken it up...
  2. Thank you again Christopher for referring me to Tom about the paint suggestions for those of us who bought unfinished kits. What a gentleman, and very informative. I was really surprised that his base of choice was Krylon, and the Tamaiya was reserved for just some of the brighter details like yellow.
  3. One twist, the next Macross series is being developed now by a more :Gundam-ish" team and studio affiliation. Presuming it leads to something more profound, does that create a quantum leap pull-through for everything else in the product portfolio? btw, am I the only person who orders through Tokyo Otaku Mode? They've been great to work with but feels like nobody else has.
  4. Wrt "Low numbers", how low is low? Does anybody really know how many DX Chogokin, HMR and Bandai scale kits really get made? So what happens once Disney+ enters the scene? Bearing in mind Macross had never been legally allowed to air in the USA before, outside of Robotech. Do the next generations of Western viewership tier-up the demand ? Or will the kids today not embrace it as much as they did Gundam? ( BANDAI Gundam output globally is like what...a billion kits and counting? ) And to that end, what Chogokin and HMR from Macross have been duds? Feels like DX Chogokin all sell out quickly across the channels that ship to USA.
  5. Okay... So, no it was not scripted. The live agent I spoke with was Liane. Very polite. She found no release info on her internal platform, so she escalated two layers up and said all she could see was that it's scheduled to happen in 2024. Which we already knew of course. So, addressing loosely what the comments to my earlier post said above... she encouraged me without prompting to put in the written request, and extrapolated that Disney like any other sales-related organization is going to pay attention if a large quantity of customers/subscribers ask for expediency and more thorough communication. To that end while we likely won't influence the ultimate release date, whether it be October 1st or 11:59PM on December 31st, a significant number of customer inquiries has the potential to compel Disney to at least make formal announcements earlier rather than later....if that hint matters to anyone But, I don't know if a 30% participation rate from those who have read this thread amounts to anything significant enough to move the needle, but if any younger social-media savvy types on here could get more participants involved, I'd have to believe it would draw attention as a more popular consumer/subscriber request. Could it expedite a release date? Not likely since "anticipation" is a Disney staple. But I can't prove that, just speculating. So, while I agree the USA got screwed by being last in line, again, at least Disney communicates that the series will air here in calendar 2024. And an appeal for better guidance on "when" might prove successful. As far as WWM, Japan doesn't really react to our demand, or at least that's what several of my hobby shop owner friends always tell me, and why I buy all my DX Chogokin and Yamato on Mandarake and TOM. Yoyakunow being close third....
  6. This morning I contacted Disney. Although there is still no release in the USA, their CS rep said announcements and possibly the release itself will be influenced by customer requests. So, if you are willing to invest 5minutes for the rest of us : Go to https://help.disneyplus.com/ Scroll down to "Give Feedback". Scroll down to Select Feedback Type" and there you'll find the option to recommend a new movie or show. You know what to do.... For subscribers willing to add in more emphasis... Call 888-905-7888, hit option 4 to speak live, and go through similar ritual with their live agent for about 5 more minutes.
  7. Is Tom a forum member? If he's a Chicago person (near me) and he's a model painter I'm really curious to know if he's attending IPMS Duneland or IPMS Butch O'Hare which coincidentally are both coming up in just a few weeks! The major paint vendors are there too, so I'd be curious to know his recommendations for brand/type/finish so I can pick up the right stuff while I'm there...
  8. A month ago you awaited price quotations from 3D printing suppliers. Are you able to take orders from us now? As an example, last week, several of us ordered an original printed model creation, 1/100 VF-1AG from forum member ChristopherB. He made 10 finished and 10 unfinished kits, sold those with payment taken over PayPal. Now he gets tally of the other types people want so he can produce more varieties. Hoping to hear your good news!
  9. What is the current tally? If not sold out, you'd suggested we could have opportunity to buy remaining units, after ( x ) number of days, after which you'll record the requests for future builds,, but surely you'll need to take some form of order acknowledgement or deposits? And will you PM reply upon receipt of payment and shipment from the first round?
  10. Two non-canon with alot of "canons" V.F.G. Macross Delta VB-6 König that I believe alot of modelers fell in love with (they've already reissued it) and the VF-1AG expansion kit for HMR VF-1 (which @ChristopherB is selling literally right now.) Gotta be honest, I'm stuck on the difference between non-canon and alternate timeline. I.e. Macross-2... if any other non-canon tells a story, even in a video game, isn't that an abstracted alternate timeline too? And when considering "who" made the mechanical designs, M-2 wasn't Kawamori.
  11. It's 6:05 PST <crickets chirping>
  12. But they did do the VF-2SS in HMR, wasn't that non-canon? Agree 100% with your IP perspective, I also keep hearing it's really about sticking to primary characters. Fringe items are left to the garage shops etc. And that might explain why the VF-2SS squeaked through? Primary vehicle from M2 so they negotiated the IP rights to produce?
  13. Does anybody NOT take guilty pleasure in enjoying Koichi Ohata's works? Canon or not, Macross-II was a mechanical treat. When the Kickstarter campaign book comes out as part of the video project, just hope it' has more stuff we've not seen before.
  14. Since we're coming up on 3 weeks, is the ordering window decided?
  15. Thx, but I did try Vic 2 weeks ago and yesterday. Still zilch. If I'd not paid or done frivolous complaints or returns I'd get it, but I made about 4 multi-lot Ebay purchases up through 2023 with no incident. The only strange thing I remember is once I asked for a combined shipping discount for multiple auction wins. Nothing happened for a few months, And then one day I got a refund notification for every single item I'd bought...fractional, like 10 - 25 cents each. Not sure why it happened that way. That was the last interaction I had with them until the next time I tried to buy-it-now and it wouldn't accept my cart. Ebay said I was blocked and had to ask WGH why... I've tried Ebay messages and emails occasionally since late 2023-ish, no response. My goal is to get re-instated.
  16. Still nope. SEnt messages twice on Ebay, plus a direct email. Gave it an extra month...wtf? do they have any contact phones?
  17. This is the moment where all the Macross mech-head groupies throw their panties onto the stage. But for the love of all that's good and holy, PLEASE don't make this a Wonderfest exclusive.. Wonderfest = (won't see the light of day in North America)
  18. So...what did $25 - $50 get you for stl files? Accessoriy/add-ons, or complete vehicles?
  19. Commercially speaking, you'd have a winner here.
  20. Can you outline or list the ones you have done already? And how do you transact? I've promoted new products and have channels here for both s/w and product. Switch to PM communication if you care to.
  21. Well... that's the paradox. I'd jump on a VF14 if you offered. The market for most of these specials is large, but the message doesn't get broadcast to this side of the ocean effectively when a Japan garage shop releases at Wonderfest. So when examples like these do go on sale years after the fact, the EBay price point is astronomical. Patreon and Kickstarter are helping bridge the gap a bit for one's designed outside Japan. VF1AG (Armored Gerwalk ) is nearing completion. If that does well, it should be a solid indicator of how a VF14 would do.
  22. I couldn't find anything else by, or about, Experten. Anyone know his bio and other things he might have made? And, yes, he could have done an online 3d printer file thing and done well...
  23. So did these actually ever sell?
