  1. That first picture is a really cool shot. It looks like it's cruising in deep space behind a new star. I dont know if you brush painted this, airbrushed it, or both but the painting looks perfect, especially on the engines and what i assume is the engine intake (I don't know that much about ST ships). Also if it makes you feel less crazy, rents are genuinely insane where I live too. It's impossible to find a home that isn't in various states of disrepair for under a thousand.
  2. @Chronocidal i have a similar set up which I think will work. Its basically a layer of peanuts, a styrene sheet layed vertical for spacing and cushioning with the sylph wedged in between two sheets of those giant plastic air pillows, more styrene to top it off and I think it's ready.
  3. That's a pimp decision.
  4. @Big s @MechTech and @pengbuzz Thanks guys, il try these out!
  5. Hey, do you guys know any usefull ways to package a model for moving? I've looked around and people have a million different ways to pack. I have a single model built currently. It's a 1/144 super sylph. The dimensions are weird to work around and the sylph seems flimsy. I have many packing materials but so far I can't get it into a solid position. The smallest box I could find that would fit it, is 10in by 6in.
  6. @Chronocidal I see what your talking about. That exist no where on the real plane. That's literally garbage or kit bashing junk.
  7. (EDIT) This is not a direct knock off of trumpeters kit and i am apparently blind as i mistook what i saw as being their kit but i was looking at this one. So this thing is f^<ked beyond measure. The texture seems rough and gravely and the nose cone is pancaked. But apart from that, if the sources I found on its specs are true, then it is accurate to the real 711 Prototype of the Su-37 which was a modified Su-35 which are both mods of the Su-27 airframe. The cannards are actually super thin on the real one and with this being the 37 prototype, it does have thrust vectoring engines with both of these upgrades being for better control.
  8. @Thom It is infinitely spacious. You could eat off it. @Chronocidal Do you have any images of the flanker? Id like to see how scuffed Minihobby's other kits are.
  9. Hey, I found this from a very dark dank corner of an antique shop on Route 66. Its a Doolittle raid version of CV-8 Hornet from 2001. I think it's a knockoff version of tamiya's USS Hornet, but i am unsure, i really dont know that much about ship models. I'm currently sanding and fixing the overall shape of the pieces, but there are many issues, especially with the flight and AA decks because there's injection pin marks on peices that are easily damaged from sanding due to their size. There also are no decals as its literally the only thing that was left out by whoever had this kit first. But apart from some serious molding issues, it was cool to find this in such an odd place, even if it is bootleg.
  10. It is rustoleum universal bonding primer, I recently had a big mishap when it sprayed out like dust but I think I will be able to avoid that with the tips given to me by @arbit, @Bolt and @pengbuzz. But I also thought that people made a coat, waited for it to dry a bit, then made another coat. Is this what I should do? Or could I literally just do one coating session as you said, and move on to painting?
  11. Hey guys, I am about to attempt to re-prime my gundam. How many coats of primer should i put on before painting? The parts are extremely small for a 1/144 kit and most of the parts are no wider or larger than an average thumb.
  12. That is very nice, I really like this unpainted version, it looks like a prototype
  13. Did you have to mate a Fujimi and Hasegawa upper & lower hull for both versions of Akagi because the out of the box quality was poor or not accurate? Or was it for other reasons?
  14. Could you show it out of the box with some poses?
  15. Did you brush paint those? I see the palette has been well used
  16. @Big s and @Shawn Do they have a online catalog anywhere as well?
  17. Hey, is there any way to contact or order through wise guys beyond ebay? I would like to see what it's like to personally place an order (like before the internet ) as I have no experience with macross and would like to get some of these ancient kits as a first experience, especially the the ZZ gundam kits BUT my biggest concern is if it's even right to unbox and build such old kits, I know the amount of kits was marked at 100,000 but they will run out eventually.
  18. @Bolt and @pengbuzz Ive had it sitting in the corner of my table which is also at the very corner of the room. I think I was getting myself into something I clearly did not understand, especially considering what arbit said as I did NOT warm it up nor test spray which seem insurmountably obvious things to do before spraying. You live and learn... if your brain works properly
  19. Hey, I need some help. I just attempted to prime my new gundam kit with a brand new rustoleum primer but it sprayed out like snow or dust. Does anyone know any reasons why it would do this? My room is neither too cold or humid for its requirements.
  20. That Nissan 300 with its truck is very stylish
  21. I really know nothing about macross or the specific kit your building but I think that the inverted colors look really good
  22. Are alter's yukikaze kits better or bandai's?
  23. Dude those are clean as f@ck. Where did you get those and how did you mod the one on the right to so perfectly resemble the concept version?
