Ok, far away shot showing the underside. All those engines and weapons have some hungry power requirements so this beast has five power cores. The area right behind the power cores is another thermal radiating array, those cores generate a lot of waste heat but the cooling system is very efficient so the ship does not have as large a thermal signature as others her size. The thermal array also takes away space for two more buster-razers, but defensive turrets will go in the area to defend it. It may be an achillies heal, but its a protected one. As I said the ship is as of now unnamed, I am looking for a japanesse name for it, any suggestions, for some reason right now I am stuck on AKira character names, probably because the other Yamato ship was the Yamagata. Right now I am thinking either the Akira, Tetsuo, or Kaneda class. I am open to suggestions though. Oh, the ship comes in at a little over 5000 feet in length, not quite a mile long, big by real world and my standards, like I said this battleship is a behemoth.

Second shot, please excuse the poor pic quality, R14 sucks hard. ANyway this one shows the the aft starboard quarter. Notice the engine arrangement, this beast ain't slow. Large central engine with six secondaries, four of which have reverse thrusters. The vains are a cooling and thermal radiation system. ANd don't think getting behind this thing makes a capital ships safe, two more buster-razers back there, plus smaller more conventional weapons once I mount them.

I decided since this is not a Macross CG item, though elements are macross inspired, I would start a new thread for all non-macross CG here, good idea huh? ANyway, this a new Battleship design I have been working on from my books, it is as yet unnamed, but is another product of my Yamato Shipyards, which produced the Yamagata class Battlecruiser. I will post a render of the two ships together later. I ahve been working on this at work, so please excuse the poor renders, have to use ACAD R14 at work right now, ugh. Anyway the ship is far from completed, still need to equip the rest of the armaments, add more details, secondary bridges, etc... As with all my Yamato shipyards ship I will borrow design elements from Space Battelship Yamato Designs, while still staying true to my own style. THe main anti-capital ship aramanets on this bad boy are Macross inspired though, the 18 Razer-Buster turrets that cover the hull are the only armaments I have it currently equipped with. Let me know what you think. First pic: FOrward starboard quarter, eight Buster-Razor Cannons are visible here on the upper forward bow, eight more are beneath. The circular area behind them is where the ship can dock anything up to a corvette class vessel, there is one on the underside as well. Fighter launch and landing bays flank the main hull with the large launch and recovery bays partially covered for protection. Behind the corvette dock is the main observation dome, several decks high it suits a variety of functions. Aft of that is the main bridge structure, I'm liking the Yamato SHipyards seprentine Towers myself. Aft of that are two more Buster-Razer Turrets, and then of course the engines.

Nice work, very impressive transformation, and a cool redo of prime.

Those FSW birds are probably some kind of early version of the Ghost, interesting.

what's ur Fav aircraft in the world?
Knight26 replied to Lightning's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
For me my two favorites that are currently flying combat birds are: A-10 (best tank killing aircraft ever concieved by man) Su-47 (slap on TVEs and even better, I love FSU and rugged super manueverable fighters, that plane could spank the F-22 anyday, and this weekend should prove that.) -
That's funny, John Carpenter rocks.

Interesting, seems a bad place to store missiles though, if the seals go bad you're seriously hosed if you are the pilot. Seems like the better place to put them would be the legs. But hey, it's the Zentran, and we know they don't but a whole lot of stock in their pilots.

The Defense grid make a lot of sense. The reason we see so much desert area is becuase the attack by the Zentraedi probably ripped away multiple layers of topsoil, leaving most of the planet desert. We see evidence that the rainforests grew back in record time. Infact areas around crashed zentraedi ships and mecha are shown to have recovered first, possibly due to radiation or the techno-organic nature of the zentran ships. The reason most area is still desert though is that it takes generations for topsoil to replenish itself. UN Spacy is probably trying to slowly reforest the planet, rebuilding the topsoil, but its a slow process. So, if you are trying to save a near death planet, of course you will protect it with dang near everything you've got, espcially while it is on the brink of returning to life. Well that's my too cents. And yes particle and beam weapons are really convetional weapons in that they do not use a nuclear detonation as their primary reaction. Though nuclear reactions may occur at the impact sight, so low level readiation is also a likely hazard in some areas.

Hey Super O when you get your copy let me know, like to try it before I decide to sink money into a modded PS2, or steal my cousins' and mod it.

VF-1R Masterpiece Collection 1/55
Knight26 replied to Medison Man's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
hmm... a low vis veritech, wonder where they got that idea. Though I have to admit that the color scheme isn't bad. -
Totally sweet, I wonder if it will be a retelling with a whole new storyline, an animated version of the whole manga run, which would be sweet, or a continuation of the animated storyline. Personnally I hope for an animated version of the original manga.

Definitely need to make some more using hasagawas and the 1:48.

New animations... for me at least.
Knight26 replied to Sebastian's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
On the ones I have seen in your list: Last Exile: I agree, normally I am not into steam punk but is really good, highly recommended. Ninja Scroll (series): Not as bad as I thought it was going to be, shows some promise. Stand Alone Complex: Only seen the first few but I like it, cvould do with less fan service though. I think it is much truer to the Manga then the movie was. -
In regards to the leaked Tarkin Pictures: Remember you are comparing pictures of photos again white backgrounds to stills from the movie. Makeup in movies is laid on pretty thick because the lights tend to wash them out otherwise. People in movie makeup tend to look fake up until the point you see them on screen, it's all due to the lights. I'm sure the guy will look much better in the film and movie stills. Lets put it this way as well, in order for Portman's elaborate makeup in the first one to show up as well as it did she would litterly have a good pound plus of makeup on her face.

King Nor, what's R-Type? These are from my books that I am writing.

Here it is the Merlin's envisioned color scheme, Black with Red trim, try spotting that beast in space combat, especially since it has no engine glow.

Like with any design there are comprimises made, in order for the VF-1 to transform it has to have the flush rear canopy. This really isn't as big a deal as many people think though. WHen looking behind you you can never really see your six unless it is your six o'clock high position. Things like the seat and tail fins get in the way on all planes. Also if you look DYRL you can see that the HUD is wrapped around the whole cockpit. In the first battle you see Hikaru look over his shoulder and still has his target bracketed despite the fact that it is in a blind spot. Being able to see straight back is not that critical an issue as long as you can see upwards, which you can in a valk, that canopy extends back a great deal past the pilot.

Last scheme for now, looks familiar don't it?
