I like it, now you just need a ship to mount them to.

I wasn't commenting on the pair themselves but more the costumes, I hate to see people cosplaying in what is suppossed to be a military uniform and getting the materials wrong. Too many cosplayers really don't seem to put enough effort into it either using the wrong materials or just bad patterns.
-
Very interesting I hope you have two so that once you are done you can stand them side by side for comparison shots. Really the mods you are showing dont seem to affect the durability all that much and already the toy looks far better.

I don't know for a pure fighter I wouls still go for the 5000, the 2000 is really an interceptor, fast with good armor and shields but not the most manueverable.
-
the details include not just panel lines but control surfaces and some work on the weapons. Right now the only thing hanging off the wings taht still need details are the MDC and the long range missile launchers. Tommorrow I will start on the engine nacelles and hopefully finish them this weekend as next week I am on travel.
-
Ok, wing details are added and I beefed up the docking lock area as well as added hump over the landing gears with an access hatch.

That Macross 7 Cosplayer looks great, really looks alot like Basara. As for the Roy/Claudia, that is wrong on many many levels, and the costumes are pathetic, again wrong materials, improperly cut, very bad.
-
I just thought of something, waht do you have it hanging from, how is it suspended from that shelf?
-
Hey good idea, is that point strong enough to hold it for extended periods though?

I swear these guys are always complaining, first they want landing gear, then boarding ladder, what's next seats, ha ha guys, sorry those will have to wait until you have atm control surfaces. I would do more tonight but after work today I am mentally exhausted. If I have time tomorrow I will start in on the wings, kaing the control surfaces and starting to detail it up. Plus I spent a good part of the night playing with my new BBI 1:18 F/A-18C Hornet very cool.

Space Ship One Launches tomorrow in Mojave,CA
Knight26 replied to Hiriyu's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I watched the webcast that aileron roll looked pretty viscous, they had something similar happen in the last flight too, I thought they had corrected that, guess not. DH you seriously expect the morons in the media, bunch of ratings grabbing carion eating scum for the most part, to have anything the realm of technical knowledge? COme on man. Anyway I wish I could have been there for this one, but work kept me from going and if they make their projected launch date of next monday I won't be able to go either, have to go to a fragging ship. If however they slip the schedule a week to the following monday, which I think may happen *Crosses fingers* then I will call in sick to work be there when they win the prize. -
I can see the title possiblities now: Revenge of the Schwartz Return of he Schwartz The Spaceballs Strike Back Attack of the Spaceballs A new Spaceball That Phantom Spaceball Hopefully it will be as funny as the original, though who will play Barf now *nods head in reverence of the late funnyman John Candy*

Lynx: The gap you see is an old aero habit, you always want to put a gap between intake and fuselage or wing, this keeps boundary air from entering the intake and causing compressor stalls. True it is not needed anymore, I will look into a reshape. Yes there is room in the wing for the main landing gear, infact there are about three inches of space above the roof of the landing gear well so there is plenty of structure above and around it. Heck look at the blackbird, it has its landing gear arranged the same way in the wing, but its fold inward instead of forward, don't ask I just like longitudanally folding gears. Those "holes" are the missile tubes, I'll work on the endcovers later, and just like on the RAM launcher I work on they will pop off immediately prior to launch.

That was really funny.

Yeah we can finally land. I made the landing gear and attached them. So, Pete and Grunt decided to come and take a look since they will be test piloting her. Tomorrow I will add the boarding ladder then start in on detailing the wings. Since the cockpit is common I will not add the interior until the end, hope you all don't mind. As always C&C are welcome.

I don't think so, as there is a two seat model of the EF-2000, so no reason to photo chop in a second seat.
-
Nice I know there was some talk in the earl-mid 90's concerning using A-10s as fire tankers, since they would be more responsive, reliable and able to make more percise drops then current tankers.

Some M0 lineart I haven't seen--official?
Knight26 replied to ewilen's topic in Movies and TV Series
IIRC those were some drawings that SK did for Character model a few months back, check the magazine archive I think they are still there. -
To ANYBODY that ever thought the tuna
Knight26 replied to SuperOstrich's topic in Movies and TV Series
And your prize on the wheel of fish, a lifetime supply of Tuna, all in one fish. -
Has to be a joke, besides you don't measure aircraft usage in mileage, but in hours that are on the engine and airframe. Besides the Apache is a current usage aircraft in the US arsenal and only rarely do they release anything of the sort for civilian sales. Heck even most museum aircraft are just "on loan."

The lower fins do fold during the approach, the upper fins stay extended until after its landed, except in the case of a capture claw retrieval where they all fold up after capture. The thrusters will eventually take on a sort of burnt bronze color, just enough to make them stand out against the main hull, but I am not at that phase yet.
-
Why oh why do uniform cosplayers always insist on using the wrong fragging materials? That Hikaru uniform might have looked decent if he had used actual uniform materials.
-
Just noticed you also gave the wing leading edge a cranked arrow planform, normally I like that kind of styling and it is a bit of an aerodynamic improvement, but... The redone angle ruins the slat deployment as now the slats of the two leading edges will hit each other.
-
Kind of a pointless photochop IMHO. The eurofighter has a canard normally, you just chopped them off and slipped them to the underside of the intake. And, at that angle they would most assureadly strike the ground upon landing, very bad idea. You also appear to have redo the trailing edges to give it a "stealthy" appearance, ugly and unnecessary IMHO. Sorry to be a downer but there is no value in the modifications made in this photochop, the skill in making it is obviously higher then what I could do but still the concept is bad.

Small update, paneled the fins and figured out their rotation tomorrow I will start on the landing gear. Once those are in I will start detailing the rest of the fighter. Here is a quick preview of it in landed configuration, fins folded. C&C?
