  1. Updates on the book are regular on Facebook on the Robotech RPG facebook page. Everytime we get new art in and move closer we share something. We also make sure to share those posts with various Robotech pages online. The main Strange Machine Games page is for the companies board games. We sent out an update in December to backers via email. As for the status of the project and its progress. The book is pretty much done. Page numbers are going in and we are getting ready to print. We are just waiting on the remaining backer art to place in. Probably two more months and then onto printing and shipping.
  2. The RPG is ongoing. Delayed release but the book is still being worked on. The status of the book is that its done. We are just waiting on the backer art pieces. everything else is being finalized right now ready for print once the final backer art has been produced and placed in the book. its probably going to be a few more months. Updates are on our Discord and the Robotech RPG facebook page. Not the main Strange Machine Games facebook page. Thats for the companies board games. Robotech RPG has its own dedicated page where updates are posted. (page dedicated to the Robotech RPG. Updates and previews are regular there.) https://www.facebook.com/RobotechRPG
  3. I had a fan tell me that they never fought and the Invid would never stand a chance if they did so they should be depicted so. I have ignored him for the rendition of the Masters/Invid War in our draft of the Among the Stars book. All your points are also ones that i came to the same conclusion on.
  4. It drops weeklish. He only has a few items left. Most of which are naval assets. asked him to switch to ASC art since we wanted to layout those pages. So he has been producing most of those plus some occasional UEEF. He did drop art of the Masters Light Drone though.
  5. No. Won't be a problem. HG gets final say but as you said, there is nothing in new there. HG is fine with those kinds of things. The Yellow and Purple Bioroids are already existed. The Images for them already existing. In the art approval process, we mostly just have to show what a thing is and all our sources and research for HG to look over. show where we got it from, show what our lore is based on. that kinda thing. it means for things like the Imperial Bioroid, the only hang up on Approval will be if they want to update the design a little (which they have done for some stuff) Not at this time. re-colours are easy but take time. If its requested in a backer piece however... still present and ruling from shadows letting their younger clones serve as figureheads while psuedo enjoying retirement but not really. There was some issue fitting all the text on them. But they are mentioned and acknowledged. I can tell. Partially. Stealth is a powerful gameplay mechanic thats not common. The Stealth Bioroid has features which enhance this mechanic. Its Invisibility system is tied to an Equipment Suite which is limited for balance and lore reasons. It also has a standard stealth profile in addition. In essence. it has two stealth technologies. A passive stealth based on its materials and construction and an active in which it engages the chameleon system and becomes near invisible. it can also extend this effect to an attached hover sled. When you combine the two in gameplay, the result is a very powerful ambush predator thats super hard to detect since it requires a large number of successes. So we had to limit it. The idea that it takes a lot of Protoculture was an idea I was outvoted on. The claws, were not my idea nor was the visual art design for the mecha... and i personally was outvoted on that one. But we made a note that that Precision Rifle is the default armament. So it can kinda do both now.
  6. Yes. We on the writing team are very precise and thorough with our sourcing and research. We pull from every source and then HG has editorial oversight on us as we build a unified setting from everything in their archive to align with their current canon. far more than PB. Our main problem always comes with space in the book. In Macross we just ran out of room. Homefront is almost nothing but lore and the same with what comes after.
  7. Its a great game. I came on as a fan originally to beta test and i loved it. and i love Robotech. I think thats more than what i can say for you. SMG's writers are all fans of the show. They bought the license because they wanted to do something new. I've spent nights going over every single piece of material ever produced for Robotech. Going back and forth with HG for approval. The SMG system is the best RPG i have ever played as a gamer. If you don't understand it. i'd be happy to run a game for you. to show you how everything works. sounds like you need it. I've loved working on these books so that we can update Robotech for the current year. We wanted to make something new and different in terms of a game and we wanted to bring more to Robotech from the RPG's than had ever been done. And we are not finished. so you can look forward to more content from us. if you really don't like our work thats fine. No one asked you to. I'm just here to answer questions honestly and share what i know with others.
  8. So. Here is the problem right. SMG had to fit a Core rules, the mecha and all of that into 1 book. If the book didn't contain the rules, then the amount of world building would have been much more. This is why SMG want to go back and elaborate on that stuff and why the splat books for the future sagas are almost all lore and mecha.
  9. When i designed the mecha for the game, it was originally meant to be used for sniper duty. It was never really meant to be a robot ninja, though the look was inspired by that concept. We called it a Stealth Bioroid simply because special operations Bioroid did not really fit the naming convention. I envisioned the Stealth Bioroid always using it cloaking system to reach the edges of a battlefield where it would then snipe targets. its stealth was always meant to be limited in its use because of how much Protoculture it would drain in my mind. Though, i never thought of it as expendable. Its still a Bioroid. with all the perks that entails.
  10. So. The Robotech Masters Empire was a large galaxy spanning empire that evolved from the Tirolian Republic. It was transformed by the Robotech Masters (The three Masters from the show aka the bald dudes) themselves and they rule over it as the highest authority. below them in the hierarchy of the empire falls the lesser Master Triumvirates who manage different affairs of state. each of those having their government departments as it were. aka the War Masters, the Science Masters, etc. The Tirolian senate which became the Robotech Masters senate ceased to exist following the Robotech Masters departure from Tirol itself. A crazy amount of research and effort went into fleshing out the Masters saga the most for Homefront. Goal no1. make the middle saga cool enough that people want to play games set in it.
  11. The lighter colour of the toy has been approved for the current art of it in the Homefront book. We are assuming the its camouflage ability simply allows it to change colour XD
  12. Tell me about it. I worked on the book and wrote the original version of this mecha. I had a different original concept. but this what it came out as and i'm happy enough. We put so much emphasis into the Masters to really flesh them out and HG allowed us to. They are very strict on the stuff that already exists but are happy for us to make new stuff.
  13. Hey. I've worked with SMG. Can confirm. is in the book as the Imperial Bioroid.
