Macross Frontier English Dub Cast Predictions/Theories Thread
Raikkonen replied to Zethus's topic in Movies and TV Series
Guessing this is like winning 11 times in a row in blackjack at the casino... Do we need C3PO to give us the odds? But as it's Disney pushed, even it's the licensers that will dub it, I expect some already Disney appeared stars to feature in some of the voices, at least as cameos. That asides, I'm glad dub is coming... I don't understand Japanese, and don't plan to learn to it, so finally I can sit back and switch off on the coach without reading and disengaging from the visuals.- 20 replies

Yeah... I'm sticking to the official story of 80s line art.

Love how Bandai brands it's partsforming on the box as "Shortcut change" 🤣

It is interesting the diverse take in detail and proportions. But one's smaller and more closer to a transformable toy, the other larger and for more skilled builders.
-
Hasegawa the closest with their Gerwalk of it.
-
Then why even contemplate these? These are with the intent of replicating the drawn art with all it's liberties. There's plenty of other lines with the functional design.

Thanks. Yeah, I know the 1/20, but well out of my space and time availability.

Never a fan of this Macross hotrod Transformer, but I'm really curious to see all the side by side comparisons with all the different takes of it out this year.
-
Can someone please enlighten me of Max Watanabe ties/relevance to the Macross brand? In model kits, I'm not all that clued on the names in the background.

As I lived in South Africa... all I see is a common anthill...

Surprisingly nothing by Wave as well...

Considering how this battroid version however true to it's source, is completely out of proportion for it to ever accurately transform into a plane. So we can sleep soundly that those blocks would also magically shrink when transforming. Logically articulation that parallels the show's magic bothers you due to not being possible in a transformable version, yet the Mickey Mouse gloves don't bother you?

"crunch" that's the word that kept fleeing my mind yesterday 😅

Depending on the reviews and if they make a stealth, then I'm in. 3Zero has overwhelming positive reviews for most of their releases, especially in the quality of materials and articulation.

Yup, and impressive is the shoulder and hidden multi chest joints... we can already expect all the kung-fu and day at the beach poses with these 😅
-
We have nothing to worry about this. When it comes to kits, Bandai is the Milking Empire.

Just watched a video on these, and I'm amazed by the genius articulation. The addition of the small figures is such a great touch!!! Only pity for someone like me with little time to build and paint these, is that they came in already as built action figures...

Wow, that is like the perfect display piece. Such a shame CW didn't continue onwards with other vf's... There's something really special about diecast models in this scale...

Likely the SV will rely a lot on how well the Vf-0 did in sales. In Japan, they sold well, but in the American market, they seem still quite available. Perhaps another deciding factor will be the Zero streaming by Disney... ??? Undoubted, it will be a typical Bandai shame to leave out at least a canon fodder SV...

In my view: The armour guy (Maximus) was utterly devoid of any consistency, one moment a clumsy buffoon, then a bit of psychopath, then mister aloof of the year, and all while he kept changing direction. He was too annoying with his multiple personality issues, and seemed the writers really know how to build him as every time something twitched in his head, the same pity guilt flashback played out... almost every episode. If anything, at one point, I was like really "Really? They're seriously trying to copy Fin from SW and can't even get that right?" I'm not going into detail with the amount of plot holes and face palm moments with vault 31 to 33 (Plenty of YT videos breaking that down), but I stand firm that the ghoul grabbed back attention each time he appeared as the rest of the show was a reheated stew of cliché characters and obvious twists.

The ghoul is 90% of the show. Remove him, and it's very forgettable.
