  1. You say this but they stomped the Tirolians which you can argue would be because most had left but we know they had some form of millitary forces left behind, not to mention the forces across the sentinels worlds. while wordy still useful.
  2. Seto please tell me you have this picture some where if you do I dunno what I will do but you will have my admiration as I have been arguing with people that hte ASC doesn't need 42 divisions one of which being the logistical division for EVERY OTHER DIVISION Less attack and more Sneak in and be like the americans first contact with the japanese. "Were here, open talks, This is not a request" is this accounting that all the fighters of each can double as ground troops and hte Ika's having a contingient of marines and such? this is why last I checked, were ignoring it entirely. the Zents and Invid fought else there's no reason for any zent's to exist since none of the other sentinels races really had anything before the Masters hop scotched in.
  3. I dunno man, looking at the older content (which is really all we have on the other planets) I don't think a single one of them was half hearted occupation, like if it was the humans would have steam rolled with their space navy that they have and not needed almost every planet to be snuk onto to get a resistance force able to help them fight off everything. and before I hear anyone say hte UEEF's fleet was tiny or small or smaller then the ASC's I'm calling bullshit. they knew what they were going into and a possible war with the masters, they would not have a small fleet or only the SDF-4
  4. Reminder humanity with just missiles, fairly low tech ones at that compared to what hte zentradi are packing managed to shred a few ships in the first episode and with not even direct hits. the fact the invid only just showed up just a bit before the humans in the sentinels just never fit with me. The idea the invid never tried small attacks or raiding and just sat in their corner supposedly super well hidden even though they have massive fleets of clam ships, I dunno it just seems a bit Too convinent to me that the invid only became a problem 20 minutes (hyperbole) before the humans got there to talk about peace.
  5. I have to admit this just feels dumb though. the zentradi quelled the other planets and were a giant mailed fist and border protector. the idea that they never once encoutnered or knew about the invid just feels logically unsound. these dogs or children also shoot plasma and have sharp claws that turn even naval ships into swiss cheese. and there are lots of them. I'm pretty sure if we ran across dogs like that on earth we would be in a bit of trouble.
  6. yeah on discord he went by Brooklyn Red Leg, kept spouting that he was accredited and really the driving force of decisions PB made... But back onto the topic of actually interesting things: What do you guys think look better The old Comics versions of the Sentinels Destroids and Z series battloids the Palladium re-designs maybe try mixing the two together I for one like the palladium re-designs but they were the first I saw and look good as giant robots imo even if they look like kit bashes.
  7. yeah he was trying to 'Help' our work for a long time by attacking anyone with a pulse around us about stupid things like 'the zentradi and invid never fought' or stuff like that and routinely getting into name calling. Going to use a David Ferris argument here *Clears throat* "OBviously they are better because you see so few destroyed on screen, really the Logan would be a better veritech then the VF-1 because we only see a very limited number get shot down in the show and Marie Crystal would obviously be a much better pilot then even Roy focker which is why she's the second coming of roy!" God please shoot me for saying that stupid crap. Right now Fran last I heard was working on a few things specifically with backer pieces like mine and your's coming in once all the base artwork is done I think there was something about the ASC combat armor or something I'd need to talk to JAAD later about it.
  8. That's because it's Max most likely lol. I'm going to say it probably is but with way less amenities.
  9. gundam and the getter team were yeah I think after all that stuff a year or two ago with Big west/tatsunoku/HG and how Funi now has robotech, I think the license is alot more open then it was.
  10. Last I heard it was actually him and disliking part of the perspective on one of the pieces. HA NERD! with how loud some groups on facebook is, I really don't get that but maybe it's just a small group of people screaming loudly that their police force has a super duper massive fleet and the UEEF only has like 12 ships and a card board box. Usually this is the same group screaming the Zentradi never fought the invid so I kiiinda ignore them. dark heresy is fun but I'm weird since I don't mind having to pick and choose what I want to be good at.
  11. I would say that's from palladium frakking that pooch down the river with no paddle, RPG tactics really stung the robotech and Palladium image. but now with our second book and that massive kickstarter for the Robotech war game that just ended (that has a scale model of the SDF-1 and Zentradi flagship with it) I think it's becoming more commerically viable at this rate again. while I can see this angle, TBH? I never really understood it in a tabletop rpg. I know we had stuff like Mekaton zeta which were jesus christ levels of simulation but when I'm playing a mecha anime game I want the freedom and feel of it when I sit down to play. I dont want to be told 'no I cant help the mechanical crew preform maintenance' or 'it wont matter' because ethier a system says so or because I'm not a mechanic. Hell my first campaign I played a singing Destroid commander who also was developing veritech enhancements with Dr. Lang and the pilots help. I legit couldn't do that as far as I know with Palladium (and I also would have blown my brains out trying to calculate missile velocities) Man, I'm already there because I say the ASC sucks hard ass. But I still worked with SMG to make em fun to play. now if only Tommy would speed up confirming the art haha.
  12. Why Thank you I'm down that SMG is working to expand upon stuff for Sentinels but not sacrificing anything for it. trying to balance stuff. Well they seem fine with us doing it as we are now, then again it's not fully one source or another we have been working to mesh things together to make things make sense... like how some sources say the zentradi never fought the invid which just doesn't make sense logically. or weird placings of events so there's a huge gap or weird inconsistencies. I couldn't get into it, it always felt restrictive for an RPG not to mention weird rules things that just sometimes reference things but then just nothing.
  13. I bet there was I just feel it gets too... specific? like most of them can do the exact same things but say they are for a super specific things but most if not all others do it just as fine.
  14. not exactly you can re hide in the middle of battle, it's all about fictional positioning in SMG's system With each turn having 3 phases. so you could use one of your two base actions to try and hide yourself or instead of mechanically hiding yourself you use it as a 'I'm confusing the enemy and redirecting their fire maybe into an ally of theirs' kinda stuff it allows for more free form playing. I ain't no whale biologist so that's just me doing dumb sci-fi techno babble that I am 100% not trained to do like any star trek engineering officer. SMG's system dropped in 2019 and I'll admit I only found it by accident, but it's fun. not a bunch of calculations like Palladium, more focused on the fictional positioning and roleplay elements of it rather then hardcore simulation. could be a good reason as to why you can only use the equipment suite of the stealth system. I'll be honest having seen the old ones, It might be me growing up past the sentinels era stuff and only seeing the newer ones first, but I don't think the older ones look that great, they look like they are stuff of that era. But I 100% think the new designs look better.
  15. I as a GM and player go rule of cool with it since we already have to disbelive that these fighters have any chance of actually transforming mid flight without ripping themselves apart or going out of control. Also it's alien tech so I dunno maybe that's what's draining more protoculture is the fact it has to double up on it's cooling efforts to stay hidden For RPG effects it acts as an equipment suite for the mecha, giving an extra 3 dice when making Obscure, Redirection, or other Actions that hide and confuse the enemy. making it a very versitile ability. you do only get 2 uses of this equipment suit and normally a Stealth bioroid requires 1 successes from an observation roll to be seen. TBH I really like the way the marines mecha look since they look like a set of designs that would actually be produced by a faction in a mass production style using many of the same parts and design philosophies that they see work incredibly well. Gura I just really like the idea and the flavor text of the one hive of them in the grand cannon who could only see Lisa's face so they modeled their whole upper cast after them just.. I dunno it hits a nice spot in my brain.
  16. I think the idea that the masters are limited in what protoculture they are willing to spend for most of hte conflict is a good enough reason, but it's mostly my own reasoning I'd have to look at what we have written. Ohhhh I know, I legit just didn't want to sound too mean. I have only really fully read through Genesis Pits and UEEF marines and I dunno if this is a hot take but UEEF marines Destroids and Z-Series Destroids are some of the coolest looking mecha of all time... I don't like how there's 200 different cyclones though that really all serve the same purpose. And Genesis pits once again my fave take away is the Gura Invid which may be kinda weird and dumb but I dunno I really like em. Gotcha
  17. Ahhh I coulda sworn the elders were like the Original clones and gave all control over to the other three since they looked so similar but I can't remember been a while since I watched the masters saga
  18. I See! The more you learn every day! Sadly from what I understand of quick google searching there was only the Robotech Shadow chronicles in 2nd ed right? followed by sadly the miss handling of the RPG tactics which lead to lots of problems... I know people who never got their stuff from it. Noice! I'm getting art of one of the bioroids from my stuff too! ok this one I have to ask, Which are which? do we have pictures of them? I ask since me as a person, don't know any of their names. It's more to explain why they don't have these things all over the place always cloaked. along with the references of the robotech masters having low levels of protoculture so while it's a high power fuel, it's using extra ontop of operating every system of the bioroid. This one is personal opinion but I love the fact of it with the claws since it really hits the whole predator vibe, I imagine it being stealthed onto to jump on a spartas, Battloid or something else and stab right into the cockpit before jumping away into stealth again. But this is only how I feel on it, I don't know what the original designer thought the claws were for but it makes it cool in my giant robot kid brain cause Claws on mecha are radical. That pun was terrible but even as a fan of macross 7 it just.. it doesn't fit what we have...
  19. While this may be true, What of 'Mecha Sudai' or Lancers rockers (I hate to bring that up I think everyone hates Lancers rockers.) Nope I understand, not everyone with like the choices we make nor would I expect it. I just aim for civil discussion of RPG's. One thing I do atelast offer to anyone, palladium players, other rpg players or just fans of Robotech is some chances to play the system be it one shot or short campaign's if they want to get hands on with the system. Atleast for me I have found some rpgs I thought I would hate but enjoyed when sitting down to play.
  20. I know that in Japan the show had that problem where no merch was made but I know for a fact Matchbox had a huge line to the point Japanese collectors and fans had to buy from America in order to get the toys. I remember things that were never in anything making it into Palladium, because unless I am mistaken, Gura Invid were never part of anything Robotech or Robotech in name only even. I remember some other oddities from palladium's books but can't name them off the top of my brain. Overall As some who, I remind you is not paid what so ever at all to support, write or do anything with SMG's game, that you guys at least are willing to try the books and feel the difference between it and palladium, not as a competitor to what Palladium did but as a different style of playing it, Less simulation and more like it's the style representing an anime episode and that we can get along with our differences in style of robotech but still be civil.
  21. That's fair, HG hasn't.... uhhh... 'handled it the best' but even still I'm glad to be here and chat with you guys.
  22. Hello, I am another person who worked on the SMG system though not as a paid employee, but as a volunteer to the project and have to say as someone who never really enjoyed the animated content of the Masters Saga, We 100% wanted to make sure the content was still fun and worked for people to play with else there would be no reason to include it in the book in the first place. Our intentions were not to have 'Masters ride the coat tails of New gen' as we know there are a large chunk of people from the Palladium era and even now that still think it's the best Era, and while I may not agree we still wanted to make sure they could have the same level of fun and involvement compared to any other Era. We did have to expand upon lore in ways to add more room for role play, but most of it was already there from comics, novels and other sources. One of our members working on it, Lorindor, is a massive masters fan who went out of his way researching every bit of masters era lore he could working with JAAD_SMG to help flesh out the Masters Saga in a way that makes sense and actually matters for role play with the world building and also helped with making the Stealth Bioroid. The Stealth Bioroid IIRC was meant for Sniping duties, sneaking into area's with fighting to support other Bioroid units or to try and pick out valuable targets like exposed Spartas pilots/Commanders On top of that HG has actually been policing content for the SMG books as we have been in close contact with them through the production of the book and has been working with us on charges to the art for the book so even still, HG has been policing our work very thoroughly and we have had to justify our writing and additions such as the Stealth Bioroid. If anything they have been more strict on what we write then what Palladium was allowed to write. I do hope though if you have an questions we can chat it out with you guys here since we all enjoy Robotech, even if what we like differs were still fans of the same stuff. Dear god please I need a hug watching everything I love burn to the ground... it's painful at this point, a dull pain but painful
