  1. Old thread got moved to the Hall of Super Topics. As promised here's some pics of my new rig. Good thing I got 8 Gigs of RAM in there. I already got it up to 4.4 Gigs of memory usage last week just using Photoshop. It's surprisingly quiet too, thank goodness!
  2. Seconded! Sorry Yamato, butI'm hoping these won't sell very well so I can maybe get one on clearance for 30-50% off.
  3. Thrue, but a lot of them heve apparently never been to a dentist.
  4. 29,400 Yen?! Absurd! Absurd I tell you!
  5. I hate stickers even more and I'm pretty sure that's what they are.
  6. Sorry for your loss Jason. Rest in piece Ootis.
  7. Thanks! So the weathered version will be available through normal channels?... please Yamato?
  8. Looks like a model kit that's been put together by a drunk retard in a hurry me.
  9. I'm hoping it'll be half price in a year or so. I'd love to get my hands on this toy, but 28.000 yen is just too much. I paid something close to that for the Hot Toys ED-209 but that thing is so massive it can guard the house.
  10. After looking at all the pics some more I canceled my pre-order for Alto's VF-25F in favor of Yamato's upcoming Patlabor toy. Too much toy for me. I want a transforming model that I don't need to put together myself. I guess I'll have to wait a decade for Yamato to make one but that's ok...sort of.
  11. $1000 cheaper?! Did you include 2 samsung HD's and an extra set of RAM like I did?
  12. True. If I opted for an SLC HD, I'd have to make compromises on other parts of the system because I (only ) have €3500 to spend, so the Raptors are the best choice for the moment IMO. I'm hoping this system will keep me going for at least three years at which point I expect I'll have to consider replacing the MotherBoard and processor/RAM.
  13. I've looked into the whole SSD thing and as it turns out, they're VERY fast with reading data but VERY slow with writing data, which would not be a very smart choice for a swapfile HD. So I decided to go with a 74 GB Raptor instead of the SSD. Here's the new setup and it has been ordered. Finally! 14. So is there any news whether the weathered (sorry, couldn't resist ) versions will be limited or not?
  15. I just saw pics of the 1/72 model from the hobby mags. Now I'm all sad. Why do Bandai stick to the "a model is a model and a toy is a toy and there's no such thing as a detailed collector grade item" theory every time they produce something from the Macross franchise? Looks like my money is going to a weathered destroid.
