That's great for mobile fleets, but how do they avoid detection from Zentradi after they've settled on habitable planets? Do they just accept the risk that they'll be found one day and have to evacuate in the ships that brought them? I'd still like to see an encounter between the NUNS and the SA. Without active guidance from any Protodeviln, it'd be interesting to see if they present a different set of challenges to humanity than their erstwhile masters or the Zentradi did.

No wonder the NUNS seems to be on a perpetual war-footing. For a long time I thought humanity was safe from the Zentradi because all they'd ever have to do is broadcast some J-pop.

Wouldn't it be logical to assume that allied Zentradi are tasked with recon for the colonization fleets? Better they encounter hostile Zentradi first, no?

Wouldn't that rule out the allied Zentradi ships we've seen?

Have there ever been any pics of what that ship looked like before it was modified or any reasons given why we've never seen one since?

I always wondered why fist fights between Zentradi soldiers and Valkyries weren't more like a fist fight between a human and a Terminator. Wouldn't mecha have a considerable strength advantage?

I wonder if any of the English speakers in the UN got a vote on the designation of ASS-1.

Where did they get all that space metal to build their mecha though? Were the other first generation UN Spacy warships made of it too?

Will the full realization that we're discussing fictional (alien) technology in an alternate future, how do the latest VFs in the main continuity stack up against their counterparts in the M2 continuity as of now?

I guess that explains why Milia went from this... ...to this... ...in the span of only two episodes.

How do you all feel about the laser cannons that are pretty unambiguously located in the Valkyries' noses?

I always thought Miyatake put more thought than that into his ship designs. I mean, the top-down view of that area certainly looks like the bridge module was separated to make room for whatever that helipad-looking circle is. Misa's shuttle didn't take off from the Prometheus in Episode 24 "Good-bye Girl," so maybe the ship's command staff has a launch bay (and landing area) of their own that's situated close to the bridge?

Was any reason ever given for why the Valkyries needed atmospheric-escape boosters to get into space in Episode 30 "Viva Maria" when Episode 3 "Space Fold" showed they were quite capable of doing so under their own power (and after a battle, no less)?

There must have been some reason for it, or it wouldn't have kept going to back to its original configuration whenever it reverted to cruiser mode. I always thought that the stripes on the "shoulders" may have been intended as runways as well.

Why did it separate before? Is that supposed to be a big helipad between the two structures?

Something I just now noticed: the bridge module doesn't separate in cruiser mode on the DYRL version of the Macross like it does on the TV version. Any particular reason for that?

Just how many fully-automated armory planets, factories and other production facilities did the Zentradi have? For example, the Nupetiet-Vergnitsz's manufacturer is listed as the "Worquli-Quatafilla 755,819th Zentradi Fully-Automated Armoury Planet." So are we to assume that there are/were at least 755,818 other fully-automated armory planets?

Is the Prometheus really supposed to be so much larger than a modern-day aircraft carrier? M3 says it's 512m long, but a Nimitz is only 317m long. That's quite a difference. I bet the Macross would have looked pretty silly with a couple of Nimitzes as its arms.

I hope every series since SDFM gets a good dub and a Netflix release so all the filthy casuals can finally experience it.

I was referring to major world events. Was everything supposed to be roughly the same as our world until the ASS-1 crashed?

Wouldn't Earth history past ~1982 have diverged from our own since that's when SDFM was made? Certainly the 90s and beyond were vastly different.

With all the colonies and factories to defend in such a profoundly hostile galaxy, shouldn't the NUNS be churning out automated weapons systems like those defense satellites and Ghost fighters? Guld certainly had his hands full with just one Ghost.

Are Eden's defenses supposed to be comparable to Earth's? I don't recall seeing a big fleet or defense satellites around it in Macross Plus, but I'd think that NUN would want to defend any major colony world that hasn't already been turned into a wasteland by a massive orbital bombardment.
