1. SRT-4's are great, but have horrible torque steer, and have awful looking interiors. I don't think the purpose of him buying the RSX is to race people light to light, it's more of a comfortable two door daily driver. Where as the SRT-4 is for the more performance minded, could give a Sh!t less what you're sitting in, race you to the next light driver.
2. The last great Celicas were rear-wheel drive, and that was back in 1984. As a matter of fact, my cousin-in-law still owns her 1983 Celica GT, and it still runs after over 400,000 miles. It could use a major overhaul, though. 348902 Actually the last great Celica's were in Europe/Japan and used in the WRC. The "baby Supra" body style of the 90's had a special model in Japan and Europe called the GT-four, which was 2.0 liter Turbo AWD. This was also a project car in my head for awhile as it's very easy to get a 90's Celica for cheap, and I can easily get a GT-Four front clip from Japan for 2grand or less. But, alas, money and children don't work hand in hand... unless the money is going from my hand to theirs.
3. another car i forgot to mention is the Celica... i personally have a particular distaste towards that car, but effectively it's a fair comparison. Toyota stopped making it, so you can find them second hand pretty cheap, but i would also take that as a fair warning for the car's reputation.
4. y'know, last months "Avatar Babe of the Month" was easier on the eyes
5. I concur
6. The shorter legs have a better overall proportion. The model as a whole has really developed quite nicely.
7. Yeh, no problem. I always get asked by my wife's friends if the RSX is good, and for it's intended purpose, it definitely delivers flawlessly. It's cute (but in a manly kinda way), compact, fast enough to zip around in traffic, comparably priced, well equipped, fits two passengers comfortably and three fairly comfortably, and has a college student sized trunk. You'll also be very satisfied with how fluid the manual transmission feels. The throw is decently short, and it's very easy to navigate your way through the gears.
8. Probably best of the "pocket rocket" car genre. The SI is a repinned rebodied RSX with a detuned ECU. I would say go for the RSX, my friend just sold his, but it's an all around decent car for the price... unless you're tall. If you're tall (i'm 6'2") the offset of the sunroof brings the roof down to clip your hair, and if you hit a bump, you can guarantee you'll feel it. Other than that, it's pretty comfortable, i wasn't banging my knee into the dash or steering wheel changing gears (unlike the SI) so take it for a test drive and see if you like the feel of the car. Other comparables would be the tC (it's a bit sluggish IMO) the cobalt SS (might as well get a saturn), and even the Mini S (not my taste). If you're willing to go the four door route, then look into the SRT-4, Mazda6, and the Ion Redline (just expect to be laughed at).
9. Someone needs to pluck her eyebrows, otherwise, she's really growing up to be quite pretty.
10. I can't stand how rich and spoiled some people are. I was watching super sweet 16 yesterday and it seems like every girl in that show has her daddy buy her some 100,000+ dollar car. The last episode had a Ferrari 360 Challenge as a graduation gift.
11. It's not so much that the wall outlet and powerstrip voltage would be different, but if the voltage spikes like it does in the DC area, then a high quality power strip won't allow the spike to fry your equipment.
12. Well it IS from Spain... stick to the Elise i guess
13. It looks like a whole bunch of cars glued together (head lights like a peugot, rear half of a lotus, hood from a XJ220) it looks like Jaguar and Lotus came together and built a car. What motor does it use? Toyota? The interior looks a bit odd, the stick looks remenascent of male organs, but overall the car has a cool presence. Any specs on it? EDIT - Grammar
14. Exactly, I don't see why Microsoft would ask people to plug directly into a socket. I work in DC and we have to install high end equipment all the time. DC Power has to be the crappiest power out there, we had spikes up to 150V from wall sockets!
15. I too am a bit late. I watched the movie the other day and it was good for the senseless action and adolescent quarrels. I didn't fall asleep through it like i did the first one, so the cinematography has definitely improved. IIRC they left out a whole bunch of stuff, but it's understandable based on the movie/book length ratio. Also CS Lewis isn't Catholic, he's Christian, and yes there's a distinct difference; he actually used to be a great advocate of science and its studies before he discovered his faith.
16. The Audi S4 is great.....great performance car with 4 doors so the family can ride along. I got 2 car seats at the back of my C55 AMG. 348202 Yeah I was looking at the C55s too but the boss (wife) has 'issues' with MBs so that idea was nixed. After deciding that it'd be foolish to get a used M5 I basically chose between the S4 and the IS350. I dig on the IS350 but the manual transmission on the S4 sold me. 348367 Manual is a definite on a car like an S4 (for me, it's pretty much any car). I know the IS350 is coming with a manual but you have to wait another year, just like when the IS300 was released.
17. The new S4's are nice. I was a bigger fan of the old S4 motor, i liked the wind up of the v6 twin turbo better than the v8, and the car felt more balanced with the smaller motor.
18. Go back and steal it. 348029 will you help me sell it on the black market?
19. in my former house, my neighbor owned a vintage GT350, that car is really beautiful.
20. Well, the RB got over 4 digit HP ratings after the motor was torn apart, reinforced, and rebuilt. I suspect if the VQ has the same ability, then the same steps must be taken. The wonderful thing about the RB was the torque/hp gained off of simple (and cheap) bolt on mods, that turned it from sports car, to super car overnight without any professional tuning. If Nissan wants to retain the cult following of the GT-R they will release this car with a completely redesigned VQ (same shape, different materials, like the RB25 compared to the RB26) that will basically be built to be awesome out of the box, but also have the ability to pull massive hp with little to no work. The original GT-R had its turbo plumbing setup in a way where if you wanted to change the turbos, you could just about use any aftermarket turbo on the market (more specifically garrett or HKS). I highly doubt Nissan is going to screw up on the biggest accomplishment of their company (to put into perspective, it's like how the 911 is the pride of porsche, as the GT-R is to Nissan). But, nothing can really be said about the new GT-R until it's released, so everyone just has to sit and wait to see what develops.
21. Then again airplanes are going 200+MPH on a daily basis where as a car goes about 60 for a few hours at the most on a daily basis. Since there really isn't a lot of load stressing the aluminum, it's properties are pretty dead set. Most of the Aluminum that does see weight is forged, and has more rigid properties.
22. It has a separate body, but thats it... The GTR IS a awd G35 with a turbo charger. Same chasis same engine same transmission. 347285 You could say the same for the M3, same chassis same engine (330ci) same transmission. But from a performance (and price) perspective they're completely unique.
23. forgive me if the picture is a bit large, but it's the only resolution of this pic i have.
24. It was already established that i was talking about the 2007 Skyline GTR not the Japanese name for the G35 - Skyline 350G
25. I really thought this idea sucked. But after watching the trailer, i'd have to say it's looking good so far. I didn't expect Charlize Theron to do a good job in this, but then again, her character's lines are all spit in monotone so i doubt she could screw it up.
