It's just difficult to like any company under the communist rule of Volks Wagen.

my wife's best friend was an import model, and some of them look decent in pictures and in person. But without the air brushing, make up, and lighting to hide their cellulite and goofy features, a lot of them are very ugly.

That's a way better (and more expensive) car to switch over to, but i bet the police are loving it.

Renault is a great company (of course European based only) and are going to extend their lineup in the US through Nissan with the debut of the Versa (to compete with the Yaris and the Fit, if i'm not mistaken it's a five door Megane). Also to my disappointment, i read an article on the Honda Fit and am thoroughly disappointed (has worse amenities than an xA with a higher sticker price of 14,000), stick to the Yaris coupe or the Versa five door (both starting at 12k). The Yaris is the Vitz in Japan which is beyond famous for being a great econo car and the Versa is a Renault (hopefully they'll bring the three door version with the five door) in Europe which carries the same reputation (now if Nissan brings the March that would be the smartest move ever). The Meganes look friggin cool, and from several reviews that i've read are cheap to maintain and very very reliable.

my co worker just bought an excursion and is getting about 10mpg combined; i'm surprised his wallet hasn't plotted his murder yet.
-
The CR-V gets 23mpg combined, that's inline with all of its other compeititors and is pretty good over all. If Honda used a V8, or rather if Honda HAD a V8 then the gas mileage would suck, but under powered V6's is as far as they go.

doesn't really have a lot of torque considering it's HP is in the 1,000's, at first glance i mistook it for a Koenigsigg. A1, i actually spotted a Cayman S yesterday on the way back from a pet expo, it is very distinguishable among all of the other porche's on the market in it's unique styling and road capability (he was flying through the curvy back road that we were on, i can only assume that he just got the car). I can't remember where i read it (R&T?) but they pinned a Carrera 4 S vs the Cayman S on a track and road course and the Cayman was victorious (but then you knew that all along, better platform), but break neck speed of course the Carrera will win but at an extra 30,000 dollars! With that much money you can put a RUF motor in your Cayman and be faster than a Porsche Turbo. My 2 cents, but go for the Cayman, it is probably the best Porsche on the market and if its performance isn't up to par, then RUF is a phone call away.

GS-R was wrecked when a lady in an SUV wasn't paying attention and ran through an intersection totally destroying my GS-R (hit in the driver front fender, taking the entire front of the car off) resulting in a huge insurance settlement in my favor which allowed me to purchase some nice cars later. xA was wrecked in similar fashion, but this time my pregnant wife was driving and the lady that hit her was driving a civic coming from the passenger side. Also not our fault and awaiting a full settlement to go through. The xA is a neat econobox, but i'd say even for daily driving it needs a stiffer suspension and some nice wheels if you have the money.
-
lol, mine just got wrecked and you're buying a new one. Well if you have to do anything to it, just go suspension (very loose at high speeds), brakes (brakes well, but the rear uses drum and can sometimes get weird), and tint (especially with black color), because that thing will get 35mpg regardless of how hard you drive it. However, if you need a little more oomph out of it, there are a lot of supercharger kits on the market, but i never had much of a problem in mine. So long as you get it in manual, first and second are wonderful, third is a pig, fourth isn't bad, but fifth is hardly what i would call overdrive (3 grand at 60mph) but it's not bad for a five speed with amazing gas mileage.
-
Porsche has a lot of stuff coming out in a little while: 911 Turbo, GT3, and Ruf Spider (uses a supercharged 3.8liter flat, runs as fast as the current 911 Turbo but you get a drop top and it costs the same).

i'm still a bigger fan of the original spidey symbiote suit where the white spider wraps around the chest. I really liked Venom growing up, i hope they do like they did in the comics where Brock was big without the suit but then huge with the suit.

i've seen them on ebay and government auctions too (along with ambulances, and seized vehicles) but i think there are state and county laws that would prohibit their day to day use on public roads. You might get lucky and maybe you can get it neutered like when you buy a retired police interceptor, but then it basically takes all of the fun (at least the reasons you provided) in owning one in the first place. At that point it'll just be a big hard to drive gas hogging truck with no real space to haul anything. At least when you own a retired police car you get a better V8.

Anybody Like The Vf-2ss Space Valkyrie 2?
emajnthis replied to Phalanx's topic in Movies and TV Series
i like the VF-2SS also, i have a couple of them i haven't built yet along with a Metal Siren, i really like the design aesthetics; more streamlined. -
I know exactly what you mean, it seemed like as soon as F&F came out anyone and everyone who wanted to race their car acted like a dick. When i was a familiar at my track we had an easy way of filtering out the douche bags kind of like what forums do.

woah my bad (edited)... my dad owns two planes, i forgot what they ran him something like 100k+ each, but he owns his own hangar and avionics company so that really isn't much in the long run. One of them is a twin engine: two Flat 6 Twin Turbo motors with an unreal displacement, and he just bought the other i don't remember the specs on it. Nice planes, the first one is very smooth in the air and fits six people, i'm just waiting for him to get some free time to take my family on vacation

I Like The Kites

it was a pleasant surprise for me this morning too -
Automatic trans aside, that car is going to drive forever; personally just keep it the way it is, if you want a fast car, buy a car with the proper platform.

Honestly, that is the only Integra i would purchase if i could find one. A hardtop four door (as dumb as that sounds) because it's fast enough to pull out into traffic, carries the kids, blind spots aren't ridiculous and there's head room. When i owned my GSR everyone thought it was awesome while i couldn't wait for something evil to happen to it (thank goodness it did, and thankfully it wasn't my fault). I would have traded my GSR for your four door anyday, you have quite a find there.

alas my car is dead (second one to bite the dust), so i'm still looking into either a cheap sedan that i can get for a couple grand, or just bite the bullet and buy an AWD SUV... but with my son due in about two weeks, i think i'm going to just hold off on everything for a bit.

That's my fiance and I on Valentine's Day two years ago... I tried to find some recent family pictures but they were all too big to upload (3 year old daughter, 36 months pregnant wife, and a Silky Terrier), but then i also took into consideration my wife and how she would hate people to see her pregnant .

23 with a 3 year old daughter and a newborn on the way (wife is 36 weeks), start and finish early .

That's kind of the problem: the people who are able to afford awesome cars rarely drive them and the people who can't afford awesome cars would drive them everyday. But then you have people like Jay Leno and Wyclef Jean and such who are huge car collectors, but absolutely love to take all of their cars out for spins on the track. I know if i won the lottery you can bet i'd be driving a new exotic everyday.

Nissan and Honda are both coming out with competition cars: Nissan March is suppose to come to America and so is the Honda Fit, personally i have my eye on the Fit (yes, i actually said i like a Honda) because its specs prove to surpass the competing two. I only put up the NSX debate because if you're not a collector but still want to have a great car the NSX should not even be on the list but for some people it is. Honestly, the Supra really wasn't that great of a car (for the price), and the ONLY reason i owned one was because i got it for trade-in value. I'll be the first to admit that i'm not the richest man on the earth (superficially), but that doesn't mean a great sports car is out of my reach. I was actually about to buy an NSX about 4 years ago (it was at a government auction and only sold for 20k) but i bid only 100 dollars short and missed it. I just don't want someone to sign over the equivalent of a mortgage over a car that isn't all that great when they can pay a reasonable price for a WRX or a Corvette and have the same if not better driving experience.
-
While you eat rotten oranges, i'll save myself 60,000 dollars and eat some brand new apples. Maybe a Mustang won't hold it's own against an NSX but a ZO6 Vette with a proper suspension would, and you still save 30,000 dollars; i can buy a brand new STI/EVO for that kinda money and also beat an NSX around a track with either one of those cars for that matter. Anyone who pays 500,000 for an NSX-R isn't going to drive it, you can be sure that it went straight to a collector who's just going to put it into a garage as a trophy. It's just like the people who paid 100,000 for the GTR R34 Z-Tunes (basically a street legal JGTC race car), you can be sure that the few people that own them (500 made) are probably garaging them or very rarely bringing them out (but for the sake of measure, that car would kill the NSX on a track and in a straight line and still costs the same as a regular NSX and 400,000 less than the NSX-R: Even a stock GTR R34 will destroy an NSX). You should talk to Yellowlightman, he owns one of those himself. Any other plans for the car besides rebuilding the motor?
