  1. Women cost a lot but they provide a special return, break up is more of a euphamism for selling the toy when you get bored, not having the toy break on you and throwing it away. IF both relationships the girls got fat ugly battyy cheated on you and then became shallow and meterialistic (in essence "breaking") then it might be a cause for you to evaluate yourself and wonder if you should chill on relationships for awhile. Honestly the VF-11 hips breaking was heart breaking since for me at the time was the most expensive toy i ever purchased. The YF-21 with the floppy hips and backpack just made me stay clear of Yamato for awhile (at which time i missed the 1/60 VF-1) and i just recently picked Yamato back up with the VF-0S.
  2. Maybe i'm fortunate too, but i've never had problems transforming mine either, no cracks, no breakage. I can transform the YF-19 wicked fast, mostly after tearing it apart into little pieces and then putting it back together for the sake of finding a shoulder fix for fighter mode. My VF-0 has flawless shoulders also; I'm actually glad because after having a floppy YF-21FP and a broken hip VF-11 i almost swore off of Yamato all together.
  3. I found that once you relieve the tension on the shoulders the rear wing root tabs go in very tightly. From my visual inspection, the shoulders were crammed too tightly inbetween the wingroot and the rear calf causing it not only to pop up but also the wingroot (on mine it was both sides but especially the right side) to pop out. Since my shoulders were modified to be slightly thinner, you may want to look into sanding down part of the wing root very lightly that is closest to the outside of the shoulder to see if it relieves tension. I'm glad you didn't take your shoulders apart; like i already said, it is very uncomfortable to tell someone to break their shoulder, modify it, then glue it back together; which is why i went on a mission to discover a better way through the calf. When i look back on it, i wish i wasn't filled with such haste and just studied the design more to find the calf problem in the first place.
  4. Because i was completely uncomfortable with the thorough explanation of the "shoulder fix" that i posted in the other YF-19 thread, i decided to find a different/better way to do it that does not necessitate breaking modifying and then fixing to get the shoulders to sit flush. Please give me about 20 or so minutes to get pictures taken and to confirm that this is 100% functional before posting the fix. The good news is the fix (once it's completely confirmed) does not involve you to break anything. Bad news is, i'm not sure if it's due to the singular modification or multiple modifications as there was about three or four different things i did to get the shoulders to sit completely flush without me fidgeting with them. *edit* Okay, my photography and camera suck so i decided to steal one of graham's pictures and just circle the part that needs modifying. The inside of the "calf" of the YF-19 is too thick, so when you put it in fighter mode, the tension of the calf pushes on the inside of the shoulder forcing it to pop up. Because both of my shoulder's were modified ahead of time, you may need to modify both sides of the calf in order to make it wide enough for the shoulder to fit flush. Just make sure you're careful and don't compromise the overall shape of the leg. I'm very pleased to see both shoulders sitting very flush in fighter mode; it might sound confusing especially since the picture isn't that good, so hopefully i'll be able to get a really good shot of the 19 and the modification tomorrow (it's midnight where i'm at).

    1/60 YF19 rant

I worked through a solution a little while ago, and you can see the difference of how the shoulder sits flush in the left compared to the right head on. The fix is far from easy, took the shoulder apart (which is glued together throughout), then sanded down a very small portion of the seem (more so on the part closest to the swivel joint) and then glued/screwed it back together. Up top however, is a different story; there is no way (that i can see) to rid this gap between the swivel and the shoulder piece, but my main concern was the fix above anyway. \
  6. I voted 1/60 because the Q-Rau and the newer yamato stuff is 1/60. But there's some good arguments for 1/48, like having a scale to go with model diorama figures. Also the fact that 1/48 VF's and 1/48 Destroids would be in line with the same series SDF/DYRL where as all of the newer 1/60 stuff is M+ and Zero.
  7. Thanks a lot for the fix! yeah the neck on mine (with the proper pressure applied in the right places) breaks apart with fair ease, i didn't have to sand down the two tabs either so long as you push the neck at like a 50 degree angle towards the rear. It also helps if you pull the neck piece back one tab at a time. My wife keeps begging me to transform the toy, i just hope i don't have a heart attack when she does.

the YF-19 out of the box is ridiculously solid, but after a few transformations the hips and wing roots don't lock in as tightly in fighter mode. When "swooshing" it around the room usually either one of the hips unlock or a wing root will unlock, where as my VF-0 remains very tight all around. Haterist, yeah i was hoping for the best but the removal of the shoulder tabs had no positive/negative effect. I'm working on a few solutions but i forgot that i left my tool bag at my other house since we're renovating it. So what i have in mind will have to wait until i can get to the other house.
  9. It worked for me too. If you wiggle the landing gear back and forth a bit (i'm assuming this loosens the white paint at the gears connecting point) and then try to slowly push it outward towards the gear door it seems to almost "click" into place. It looks very nice and lands nice and flat against the table.

Even with all of the tabs and bits in place it's not as solid as my VF-0, but that's only due to its inherent design. The YF-19's hip points in Fighter mode don't always like to stay locked when handling it a bit and i still think it's because the shoulders themselves are just ever so slightly too fat/wide. Haterist, The little shoulder tabs inside the shoulders don't force them outwards from what i can tell, if anything they're not putting enough tension against the shoulder which is why they fall out in battroid mode but since i'm at home with nothing to do i'll try out and edit this post in the next 5 minutes. *edit* didn't make a difference in allowing the shoulder to sit flush... i'm working through my own solution at the moment though.

I found this same problem but after further investigation discovered that it was the shoulders that cause the wing roots from locking in fighter mode. If you try to pull the shoulders down to hide the nasty gap the wing roots won't lock, but if you pull the shoulders up providing the nasty gap, then the wing roots lock with no problem. I think someone like NB4M needs to re-engineer the shoulders to be .1mm smaller to help put more locking tension on the shoulder tabs and having the shoulders sit flush in fighter mode while simultaneously allowing the wing root to lock in place.
  12. If the new Supra looks like this but keeps the same motors that are in speculations (3.5liter V6, 5.0liter V8) then it'll be a pretty cool car. As for this car that won't make production; it's neat, but i don't like Hybrids.
  13. ugh... i just remembered that; absolutely terrible; they should've had Arnold do the voice for him, that way i could get a chuckle every time he said "i got it" instead of being pissed that he picked up my weapon. Also taken from wikipedia Which further supports that the next movie should be based on the arcade game
  14. Colonial marines would be awesome; or just base it off the popular arcade game and have the hot katana toting asian chick and some doofus half robo marine with two kick ass predators.
  15. what is the sudden fascination with WRC? I love WRC, some of the best drivers in the world are WRC drivers, but why the sudden plug?
  16. Read the specs on the current generation V6 coupe and you'll be terribly disappointed in both technology and performance.
  17. more expensive than a YF-19 doesn't sound good for the wallet
  18. the discs are fragile but they're not that fragile. It's not like they'll break if you watch them, only if you rip them from the cases without any care or discipline. The center of the disks are weak, but so long as you press down on the center button of the cases to relieve holding stress on the disks and just let them pop out, they'll be fine.
  19. The only thing that hasn't been mentioned is to remove the NIC card (i'm assuming it's PCI) and clean the connections then re-seat it on the mobo. If you have a spare PCI slot, try the NIC card in the spare slot; or if you have a spare PCI device of any kind, try it on the slot the NIC is in to test if it works. If all else fails go pick up a NIC card for 20 bucks at best buy (so long as the PCI slots are in working order).
  20. Shouldn't they release the regular model before they go off making convertibles? Also all of the engine covers and other BS they throw in there has to suck when you have to actually work on the motor; i guess they're going for the whole "European" thing with the engine kibble.
  21. I recall a GBP armored 1J in DYRL? when a wave of zents attacked the Macross near the beginning of the movie. I could be wrong, but I am almost sure of it. I would have changed a lot of the love triangle entanglements. It seemed to just drag for no reason towards the end, and abruptly he chose Misa over Minmei but then doesn't actually "say" he loves Misa or anything, it's just understood. From what was given he wasn't really digging Misa at all until Minmei tried to tie him down and Misa just about gave up. At least in DYRL? you got the foundation of him and Misa spending time together on scorched Earth to establish real feelings for each other.
  22. That's exactly what i was referring to; his sidekick is just cheese, they need to drop him.
  23. Hopefully the P4 won't take half as long (since he seems to have all of his resources in place), that's a car that i can at least respect in some sort of way. It still got whooped by the 427 GT40's but it did have it's time in the spot light (one hit wonder really, but it was a sweep 1st 2nd and 3rd).
  24. the animation is superb, script could use a lot of work, it's kind of cheesy
