I should've been more specific, a 2.0L twin rotary, the triple rotaries with a renesis (side ported) design added to it would call for a little extra and somewhat inefficient plumbing. Plus that extra rotor adds quite a bit of mass to the motor, if they're going to do a three rotor, they might as well go balls out and do a quad rotor like the 787B, then adding a turbo would just be laughable. They should also do like what they did with the 787B and have the extra spark plugs in the chamber to assist with ignition (similar to direct injection in a piston type) that would also greatly assist with emissions, fuel economy and reliability. As far as turbocharging the current Renesis, i'm not saying throw a huge turbocharger on it or a twin turbo setup like the old 13B had, i was thinking conservative volvo like setup just to assist with compression and fuel economy. I've seen the Cosmos swap into an RX-8 before and that motor is a lot larger than i thought, then again, he also had the biggest turbo you could imagine under the hood. Surprisingly, Mazda's MT 6 speed holds up really well, because the guy who swapped the cosmos said it bolted up no problem (the Cosmos all came automatic) and that all he had to do was strengthen the output shaft and the MT was able to handle all 770WHP no problem.

it obviously wasn't a successor to the RX-7 by any means, but either way, the vehicle was underpowered and the rotary design is made vastly more efficient with a turbocharger. The only thing that would offset the compression loss (without the use of a turbocharger) is to have larger displacement, but the development costs of a new rotary wouldn't have gone well with Ford especially since they just perfected the design flaws with the 13B in development of the Renesis. Rumor has it that Mazda is supposed to develop a 2.0L Rotary for a new gen RX-7, if that is truly the case, then this will be one of the best motors ever. Compression loss issues will be resolved since there will be a larger compression chamber, the added displacement will do wonders for horsepower, and the fuel consumption will remain the same or better than the outgoing model.

double post...

I know what you mean, there's such a stigma about the RX series due to the old 13B motor. Fortunately that has since been resolved, but since Mazda didn't turbo charge the RX-8 people end up dumping them because they get crappy gas mileage and have no HP, something a small turbo would've resolved for both problems.

believe me, they're worth every penny; just line them up to anything in (and even above) it's class, and you'll quickly realize you're getting an awesome deal. I drove my co workers for an afternoon and freakin loved it; if i wasn't hell bent on getting an RX-8 sometime soon, i would definitely purchase the speed3.

The Mazda3's are very reliable, both the 2.0L and 2.3L are built off of a super reliable fully closed deck block (that means the block won't explode, even under boost). If you can, try to get the MazdaSPEED3; my co-worker owns one and they're a great and fun to drive car. He got his for just above 20k (used), and it's not too bad on your insurance, comes with a direct injected 2.3L Turbo and Intercooled I4, pulls some really good times and has excellent capabilities, not to mention it's a hatchback with tons of room. I'd pass on the Honda's, they're cute, but the MazdaSPEED3 has any car in the 20k range licked by a long shot, and they're not maintenance whores by any means. The only Mazdas that had inherent maintenance issues were the old RX-7's due to a design flaw (which has since been revised in the RX-, other than that, most Mazda's can claim to be very reliable. EDIT: Since i realized I breifly mentioned it, you can find RX-8's for SUPER CHEAP!!! I found a 2004 RX-8 with 20,000 miles for $17000! Other than the Mazda3, i'd say definitely go buy an RX-8, just make sure you don't put synthetic oil in it, and they can run on dirt gas (regardless of the fact that the manual says use premium). Basically, if you plan to buy an RX-8 do your research, as the car will last forever as long as you don't do things that to the rotary world are stupid, but to the commoner are perfectly normal (like synthetic oil, you will blow up your motor if you put synthetic oil in a rotary). Also you should know that turbocharging (conservatively) can vastly improve not only the RX-8's performance but also it's fuel economy; inherently the rotary's have lots of compression loss at low RPM that yields terrible city gas mileage, turbocharging offsets the loss of compression and allows for a better fuel/air mixture at the low end resulting in less fuel being used and better gas mileage.

The Xbox 360 Thread Elite Edition

That's a shame, the TRU's in my area are very well organized, in fact, the one my friend works at just got renovated and expanded. My only complaint with TRU, is they're not cheap anymore, they're way more expensive than Target and Wal-Mart for most items. -

My friend works at TRU, you can actually get a voucher for games that aren't there or are unreleased (within 90 days), you pay for them up front and then bring your receipt in once the games come in stock. My friend who works there applied his discount on top of the buy two get one free and is using it to get a couple of newer games that are being released in the next 90 days. -
I was going to pass up on it, but i figure i could always break out my air brush and put it to work.

I haven't been able to find an 08BB on my own, but fortunately, my friend who works at TRU was able to get me one. I was able to find the two pack BB at my local Target though.

Virtua Fighter is just not a very good 3d fighter. When it first came out, it was obviously the first 3d fighter, and made huge strides in the genre, but by the time Tekken 3 came out it completely dethroned any kind of interest the Virtua Fighter franchise had buzzed.

Soul Caliber is a dumbed down version of Tekken IMO. They purposely made it so that anyone can play it, and button mashing is still an issue with this game (making the rookie feel good). That's what i love about Tekken, is that it has evolved to the point where button mashers aren't welcome, they keep a few characters in that you can try to kick your way to victory (hworang, eddie/Christie) but anyone with even a little bit of experience can neutralize those characters. Counters have been made more and more difficult with each new release, i remember Tekken 3 counters were so easy to pull off, then they kept making them more and more difficult to the point where your timing has to be nearly perfect (and they also made it so counters only work for certain moves). As far as the new SF, i'm excited, i feel like a lot has been lost in the evolution of this franchise and it could really use "a new beginning".
-
definitely, i love it when new people play and just "don't get it", the game is so incredibly technical (and the TIMING!!!) and that's what I (and i'm sure you can agree) love about it.

You're meeting with Yamato right before the Tokyo Auto Show, if you happen to hear any news on the Nissan GT-R let me know

ooooohhh i noticed that (the games that is) but my brain didn't click that it was NeoGeo. Most of the NeoGeo games got ported on SNES and other systems, that i didn't recognize it at first glance.

Which console is it? It still looks like the standard affair, unless I've missed something (NES, SNES, Genesis, TG16, N64)

My local Wal-Mart got a couple of cases of the wave 2 Legendary Comic Book Heroes in. I kind of wanted Striker but his sculpt is pretty terrible so I passed. I did pick up a Darkness figure, and I have to tell you he is without a doubt the best figure released thus far for this line. The sculpt and attention to detail has an uncanny resemblance to Silverstri's work, and I have to give major props to whomever sculpted this. The paint app on mine also gets big points as the paint is crisp and precise with virtually no run off. The one small complaint is the color they chose for his forehead is wrong, very wrong. It's this odd bleached out peach color, when it should be much more tan. Also the little gold buckles on his hands aren't painted, but that's more of me being nit picky. All in all this is a definite purchase, if you see him on the shelf don't pass, he's an absolutely excellent figure, and will not disappoint in the least. Ann O' Brien for wave 2 looks like a great figure too, which is a shame because the wave 1 Witchblade could have really used a good sculpt. Makes me wish they would rerelease the witchblade figure in the future as she makes a great counterpart to The Darkness.

All of my Local Wal-Mart's no matter which one i go to always have two wave 1 SS and two wave 1 CC and nothing else. It's almost like they're trying to play a joke on everyone.

1/60 (or some other useable scale) Sara Gnome with APHOS... It certainly matches the meaning no matter how unlikely it may actually be.

Bionic Woman a.k.a. Overtime for Galactica Actors
emajnthis replied to chowyunskinny's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I saw one of the episodes but it didn't keep my attention for too long. My dad was at my house watching it since he remembers the original from the 70's, but even he ended up flipping to Military History before the end of the episode. -
Who is the best pilot in Macross universe
emajnthis replied to Isamu test pilot's topic in Movies and TV Series
I agree, I think Max was by far the more talented in terms of his piloting skill is concerned, but Roy would make for a far superior pilot in terms of being well rounded and team morale. -
Sometimes you get lucky; i got my last one from amenbo for $20 shipped, and i picked up another one with Resin upgrade parts for $35, you just gotta keep your eyes open.

emajnthis replied to Jepoyako's topic in Movies and TV Series
i have the reissued animeigo box set, and it's excellent, my wife watched it with me and now she's a Macross fan (she wasn't much into Plus, and thinks 7 is a joke, she hasn't seen Zero yet though). -

Precisely, basically, you have to treat the 360 like a computer, trouble is, there are warrantied and proprietary parts that don't allow you to take care of it like its a computer. So eventually it'll all go on a manageable system (home built computer) and all of your favorite games will be emulated.
