VF-4G Lightning Build Up
Commander McBride replied to Less than Super Ostrich's topic in The Workshop!
I think it may be my tip on needle, actually. My tip is a little gunked up, and I haven't been able to extract the paint. Everything else should be clean, as I regurlarly strip it apart and soak it in thinner, than scrub off the paint. -
I've been thinking about some of those myself, I believe they are called the "lack". (i remember the wierdest things......) But i'd love to put the grabber arm thing on the wall.

Yukikaze episode 3 now available

Any progress on an ep 3 digisub yet? -
I was realizing recentlly that I don't have a lot of shelf space for valks, and something hit me: wall stands. So, has anyone made any kind of wall display for a Valk? Does anyone have any idea if Yamato's launch arm will be wall-mountable?

Woah, roy looks awesome lined and decaled up. Max here hasn't even had the numbers or nose kites put on yet. I'll try and take some pics myself, though....

VF-4... my first resin experiment
Commander McBride replied to Less than Super Ostrich's topic in Model kits
He's just posting a link to the thread in the buildup section. WM did the same thing witht he MAVE. -
unfortunately it cannot be converted to a normal valk due to the non-removable radar attachment That does not make me very happy! I really would like to have an elint to display without armor. To those that have the VE-1, here is a question: How difficult would it be to mod the radar attachment to be removable so that the elint could fully transform to fighter mode? Is it even possible? Please share your ideas! I really want to figure something out...this sucks!! BTW, thanks to Toonz for sharing the info! Melissa Hah, I was about to ask the same thing. Of course, I mod everything I own, just about, so it's just natural that i'd do it here, too!

Holy crap, that thing is huge! I saw one a few years back. You have to post pics!

Man, as one of the local serious cosplayers, I guess it's time I started on a Macross costume. I think maybe I'll cos Shin in his flightsuit, that should be both relatively easy and will protray a character I'm a fan of...

try asking on cosplay.com. That's where I got help on my Kira Yamato costume. But if you've really never done anything like it, you should probably have it commisioned.

Try googling it and you'll get 10 pages of results....

VF-4G Lightning Build Up
Commander McBride replied to Less than Super Ostrich's topic in The Workshop!
Man, he appears to have the same problem I do, I just can't get my airbrush fine enough either, and still remain smooth. I've heard that i might be better off with a gravity feeder than a siphon, but I don't have the funds for another Iwata. (and after getting mine, I'll never use anything else) -
Any tips for brush painting with acrylics?
Commander McBride replied to David Hingtgen's topic in The Workshop!
No, I use windex for Gunze aqueous and for Tamiya, which I've heard reccommended a number of times. I only use MM enamels. -
1/48 Mig-31 Firefox

I checked, the model's texture is actually based on a technical illustration. The guy who did it also runs this iste: www.oculusdesign.com/firefox. -
Woah, she looks great! Of course, I have a, uhh, thing, for meganekko (girls with glasses), so my opinion may be a bit skewed....

Ouch ! , I can see it now , BIG VERY BIG , I wouldn´t mind buying one I guess , but if the 1/72 VF-0s are really gonna be the definitive version of the VF-0 then I´ll be satisfyed with that. I really don´t care what scale they´re in as long as I know that´s the best thing I can get and is affordable within common sense. I wonder if Yamato would make a AFOS as well ? Hey, the idea pf an AFOS is actually pretty cool! I don't think it would be in valk scale, though, it'd be small, and polystone, and maybe would be a little diorama with the two scientists on the "cherry picker" lift. On the subject of a small scale, i'd love a, say, 1/300 Asuka II/ASCA! It would be nice if they made it around the same size as the Q-rau , that would be big enough I think. Yamato is a good company when it comes to figures so I think it would be really nice , possibly some detachable parts+articualted ¨wings¨+articulated limbs as well , Maybe even two versions : a Brand new Protoculture Era version (i.e. without structural damage) and 2008 Version. An anti-gravitational fold system would be nice too Whatever the scale, I still say you need the scientists on the little lift!

Were these measurements accurate enough, then? I got as close as I could with a ruler, and the curved surface of the valk, but if you want em even more accurate, I could ry to dig up my old micrometer.....

BANG!!! ...Borrows fiancee's Desert Eagle .50 AE and shoot's off Commander McBride's over-active posting fingers! ... <_< . . . . . . . edit to add: just funnin with ya! Hey! If you notice, I've actually been trying to post less, lately...... Crap! this was an unnecessary post! And, BTW, that eagle wouldn't be too good for shooting off fingers. It'd probably blow my whole hand apart!

Wow, I knew it was big, but I hadn't seen an exact stat. It's shocking to find out that it's bigger than a -19! In battroin, it must be as big as a Gundam!

1/100 Bandai FRX-00 Mave step-by-step
Commander McBride replied to wm cheng's topic in The Workshop!
We see them Jettison the tanks, yes, but those are under the center. The missiles with the kit are definitely missiles, but they are never shown in the animation. (In ep. 2, haven't seen 3 yet) -
Actually, the VF-0 is substantially bigger than the VF-1, that's whay it's going to be 1/72, to make it about 1/60 VF-1 sized. I suppose the VF-0 is more F-14 sized, where the VF-1 is more of a F-16.

That contrast between the two greens is simply stunning! I hope you'll take some pics of this with the Sylph. As for the missiles, I agree that the slammer scheme looks awesome! I just hope that I can pull of something like this someday. Anyway, so (aside from the alclad), this was painted using Tamiya acrylics?
