1/60 perfect transforming vf-1 from yamato?
Save replied to Shaggydog's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
Oh brother , you clowning on my skills. You guys take the cake, out of all the pictures you harp on one that isn't a pose at all. It's just a side profile and if it wasn't taken somebody on here would have already side "It would have been nice if they would have thought of taking a side profile shot standing straight in a generic pose so I could make sure it is flat skinny line art perfect", and you know it's true. -

1/60 perfect transforming vf-1 from yamato?
Save replied to Shaggydog's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
No no no Graham is irreplaceable / un-replaceable. Graham's reviews are stellar and more objective than I'm "allowed" to be. I do like the new 1/60 allot! Still Graham knows what's stuff is in the works. OverDrive only knowns when stuff is just about ready for prime time. -
M/H Mospeada Ride Armour - [ mail away weapon set. ]
Save replied to ruskiiVFaussie's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
This past Friday Takashi from Over-Drive and I went to the MegaHouse's Mega Expo and in each of our gift bags we found the Mospeada Earth Recapture Force Weapon Set. So I'm guessing MegaHouse has them in and will ship them out soon. The ones in the gift bag came with stickers, the actual mail away set didn't say it included stickers so keep your fingers crossed. -
We have new pictures of Klan Klein PVC with updated SMS stand in our Mega Expo Gallery (See images 37-40). Over-Drive will also be putting up additional coverage on their blog soon.

I put up a review of the Moto Slave + Priss set. Check it out here.

Who wants Inbit Gosu/Commander Mecha??? (and others)
Save replied to ruskiiVFaussie's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Since they are doing the Gosu to match the scale of a CM's or close to a Toynami anything but the Gosu and Gamo would be a very small toy. Shock Troopers would be as tall as a Star Wars figure and the iiga wold be really small. I'll stick with the Gosu. -
Well since no details are out on what you have to do to get the valk can't really put a value on it. So let's use the VF-1s WS as an example. For me the final price all depends on how everything turned out by the time it is in my hands, giving a price upfront can leave the supplier shorthanded. 1) For the WS I had to spend about two hours (1 hour lunch break that flowed over to one hour of work time) to be able to get just one. So obtaining a WS could have gotten me in trouble since I was doing something other than working and I missed my lunch. Usually this is not the case, I would guess for these particular items there will be some type of points from the magazine that will be needed and will cost the usual retail price. 2) Usually with first time buyers we have to deal with allot of emails, telling us things we already know or how to do what we have all ready been doing. 3) Once we have the item locked down usually payment isn't required until it is delivered COD so we also will not know the shipping price to us until the day it is dropped off. Most deliveries come when your not home and then you have to go through the whole hassle of rescheduling the delivery or having to trek to the pick center. Of course the pick up center is only open during work hours and you have to take off more personal time to get it and lug it back home on the subway or train that also cost money both ways. 4) Usually the item comes packed in really flimsy boxes that are not ideal for shipping so then I have to purchase a box that can handle the rough international mail. Due to Yamato's huge weird shape boxes, I often have to get a huge box and custom it down which takes a bit of time. Additional packing materials are also usually needed for extra cushion that will be requested by the buyer. So there is more money spent. 5) Once the item is all packed then if you don't have a scale you need to take it to the post and get the actual shipping cost. I have a scale but some people that buy for others don't and end up having to make two trips to the post office. 6) The tricky part is how much should I be paid for my service. I think a respectable minimum is $70.00 if it's going to a fellow MW member. That example minimum does not included additional costs while trying to get the item, you will still have to pay for the item, shipping to me, any materials for packing, shipping to you, and finally Paypal fees. This is just an example and not what I would charge in the case of this thread, so don't start counting your pennies just yet. I'm sure I've missed a few steps but getting an exclusive item isn't as easy as most non-residing Japanese collectors think or in some cases even insist on.

M/H Mospeada Ride Armour - [ mail away weapon set. ]
Save replied to ruskiiVFaussie's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Nope nothing yet, mail ways stuff here take a bit of time. I live by Bandai but their stuff usually comes from out side of Tokyo. You will all get a heads up when they come. -
OVER DRIVE will be attending AX this year. They will be taking part of a Cospay panel for their online Cosmode magazine, and will also be selling retail items at their booth #111. Stop by say hi to the guys, they have a few ideas they would like to kick around and would like some feedback.

Better start cleaning out my inbox it's about 99% full. UPDATE!!!! Do not send me a pm about these limited versions, I don't know anymore about them than you guys do. When I know more I will post here, until then do not send me any requests concerning them. All requests about these limited items will be ignored till I know what the full details are. I'm not going through the VF-1s WS pms again, man that was a pain.

Nope Ishiguro and Kakinuma both blamed Moe for the lack of support. You calling me a lier? Really can you link to where you heard / read that? As of last May 2007 he himself said it was not going to happen. Here is a link to the event I attended covered, had translated, and well personally asked. 2007 MZ23 Event Coverage That would be great if things have changed but I willing to bet what you heard or misheard is probably just fans trying to "Will" it to happen, but I seriously don't see any body in Japan that would fund a prequel. From my article: The big question, however, still loomed large over the event. When asked about the future of the Megazone universe, Ishiguro finally came clean about the idea of another Megazone film - an idea that obviously excited many. In keeping with the spirit of the event, the answer was both honest and forthright, yet surprisingly humble. "I would do another Megazone, but the reception to that idea was bad," he said. "I had thought about setting it before the original Megazone story to explain how things got that way and avoid the later story arcs... But I'm sorry, that just won't happen."
-
The Megazone23 prequal was canned in late 2006, it was pitched by Noboru Ishiguro and was turned down by everybody because at the time only Moe anime was worth funding for investors. That ANN post was from 2005. TokyoHunter and I asked Tatsunoko Pro at Tokyo Anime Fair if there are any plans with Mospeada and they were very clear to say NO. Right now all they care about is Yaterman, and the live action Yaterman currently being made.

LIVE ACTION ROBOTECH (WB gets the rights)
Save replied to UN Spacy's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Guess you don't know business ethics in Japan, most companies would rather loose out on a ton of money than lose face or go back on a decision that has been made no matter how long ago it was made. Trust me I know, it bugs the hell out of me when I have to deal with it. I'm sure games just fall under merchadise and not actual production development as straight to dvd or a feature film release. Just a guess but that all HG and BW talk between fan has ever been just a series of guesses. Still anything is possible, just don't hold your breath or bet the farm. -
I saw it this past week at Yamato's Summer Business Show, it was was only displayed in fighter mode with fast packs. It looks really nice, the color of the prototype was a very dark gray. They said it is still pending approval from BW so no photos were allowed.

LIVE ACTION ROBOTECH (WB gets the rights)
Save replied to UN Spacy's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I believe fans of both shows did get allot of bashing in the past, not just here but even at anime con type of events. Mostly for all the reasons everybody has brought up. Even before MW or RT.COM was launched Robotech bashing was almost an annual event at anime cons, but this was back in the early 90's and since then it has become less of an issue. Now that it's easier to get merchandise and see new episodes of Macross F in a matter of minuets, I think most Macross fans are content with the way things are going. Actually things could only get better for the Macross franchise. I've noticed less hostilely coming from MW members that goes towards RT fans. From the RT side there isn't and increase or decrease of hostility, it is just the same as before. Most new RT fans don't care about the past, only the older fans are still holding on to it. Granted I would have to say Macross fans usually were the ones starting the fights in the past now they have pretty much stopped since they can get what ever they want whether HG likes it or not. So there is nothing to fight about any more. I listen to Space Station Liberty usually good or bad it's informative. Negative Macross World remarks are pretty common there, and usually unrelated to the topic. Robotech fans should worry more about other Robotech fans because most of them fight among themselves and that is increasing allot in the past two years. I'm guess RT fans are just in a way upset that Macross fans are taken care of in the of forms of anime movies, ova, or series, whether they are good, bad, so so, or just awful we get them pretty much every 5 years, and that is something RT fans don't get. So they will just say right off the bat without seeing a single minuet of Frontier that it's crap or it just Mac 7 all over again. I'm a fan of old school RT and would never put it down it grew up on it, I've had issues with what has been done since it's attempt as a revival. It not what I really want but I'll support it in my own way. Take it from me I got my knock coming to MW for having the user name SaveRobotech but I'm pretty well taken care of here, and meet alot of users in person. Some have asked why I changed my name. No MW did not ask me to I requested the change on my own. I was done beating a dead horse of pointless fan accusations toward HG. Also I've meet lots of people here in Japan that know the whole Big West legal deal and I figured it would be better to just post as Save. Oh to at least address the actual topic at hand. News of the Robotech screen writer reached a few Japanese news web sites, and some people took it as there would be a live action Macross movie made. They just didn't really understand what the article was saying since it also mentioned Southern Cross and Mospeada but most were like I barley remember Macross. So anyways I had to set them straight. I did find it funny that article tries to indicate the an OVA was made Shadow Chronicles and that sales were brisk. -
Yesterday Yamato had an open house type event (funny thing is I actually work across the street from them and I didn't even know it) anyways back to the topic. Takashi from Over-Drive asked about if there will be a second batch of VF-1s Weathering Specials made and the official answer is NO, NADA! We said there are some sites taking pre-orders and that they will be due in August or September. Yamato said as far as Yamato Japan goes they will not be producing any more, they are light heatedly considering possibly making a limited numbered VF-1J Weathering Special but they didn't say in what scale or if it will ever really be made. The VF-1s Weathering Specials are done. So if VF-1s Weathering Specials start coming out of China, they will not be ones sanctioned by Yamato Japan. So there you have it the "official word".

AHHHH CRAP now I got to go! Tokyo Toy Show is the most boring event, now I kind of want to trek to Ariake just to see those.

Which version of Macross Plus do you prefer?
Save replied to ShizumaRobo's topic in Movies and TV Series
Love the movie ending but hate the way the first half is edited together, it only makes real sense if you watched the 4 parts before the movie edition. I usually recommend first time Plus watchers to see OVA 1, 2, 3 then get the movie version and start where 3 left off.
