Yep DougBendo. Yeah his stuff a few month ago was a serious joke, but in the last few shows he improved his format and stopped acting like a loon from the future.

I've been doing the RT podcast rounds too. JT's podcast is OK, allot of rehash since there isn't much most of us don't already know as far as the original 85. I skip all the shout outs and commercials. I do wish he would pronounce ROBOTECH correctly. When he says it, it sounds like Rubatack. He does put allot of work into his show so I'm sure it will get better. Speaking of getting better even Doug's show has improved 10 fold. As far as RT stuff his points are pretty valid. When he tries to prove points that are in comparison of RT to macross / anime / scifi he uses mostly what I guess he truly believes to be facts when they are mostly stereotype and personal opinions which for me make the show even more entertaining. I would say his new format is the best out of RT podcasts.

Nope it is not their fault. I ship out orders all the time for toy requests and it is not cheap for the buyer but I know they (Over-Drive) pretty much charges exact shipping for orders. So the problem lies with Japan Post. $100 for shipping 4 valks sounds about right to me. If they were 1/48 valks it would be allot more. Oh yeah their site needs work.

I'm a bit older and tonight Macross Frontier started its second airing on TV with the first episode, even though I've seen it a few times I was still glued to the TV. MacF is more of a celebration of the macross life span for me. Allot of Mac fans seem to hate it for catering to the new anime scene in Japan, but for the future of the franchise it was a wise choice and it has brought in a new generation of fans. Many of these new fans actually want to see older Mac shows regardless of how old they are. Before Mac F getting somebody to watch an older Mac show wasn't easy now people ask which one should to watch. Mac F is good stuff but along with the good there is some bad but nothing to get over excited about.

So can you let all of us know what free services HLJ and Hobby Seach offer, so that you can at least validate your opinion on this free service. Anybody who bitches about how they handle their replacement parts should just be thankful there is a "possibility" they can get the parts they need. I've told them they should only offer the parts service to people who have actually purchased from them, but they do it for anybody who sends in a request. If you want a more timely responses from them then maybe they should at lest make money off the service? HLJ can get you the parts, but it cost my friend $30 to get a VF-1s head and hands and that does not include shipping. Regardless of who anybody likes more in this day and age you can get what you want, and that is all that matters.

Wasn't there a member in the thread looking for the CM's Legioss & Tread with Special Parts? There is a place that got a sample version and is selling it for 20,000yen allot better then paying the 29,000 MRP. They also have few NEW & PER-OWNED CM'S and MH Rider Armors for pretty cheap.

No company in Japan would ever respond in that fashion. I know you are paraphrasing, but too many fans will take what you say as gold. Yes Big West is very protective of Macross because there are still legal issue that have not been totally ironed out. Regardless of badly translated court rulings fans copied and pasted or have read or then twisted and mixed up with their own perspectives of what really was ruled the legal ride is not yet halted for certain rights. A friend of mine did a short film about my personal anime related life for a film school project, and he was required to get content permission regarding what he filmed and interviewed me about. I obviously talked about Robotech then transitioned to Macross. When he submitted the first edit of the his project to BW they replied back and in his own words told me "All references to Robotech must be removed as it does not exist in Japan, or is it in any way conected to Macross". He removed all Robotech references and the second edit was approved. It would appear they are taking this stance due to active legal issues, and if they were to work with HG it would almost be the same as saying they are letting their case cease. Now if HG did go to them years ago, either BW kindly refused a meeting or actually heard them out and never gave a yes or no. In Japan business nobody publicly says NO, they just never give an answer which is basically a NO.

Yeah if you were wrong then everybody would go back to saying, Ill hold off getting it till it goes on discount, or Ill wait for the Toynami version since it is cheaper.

Not sure about the Scott sculpt but the Rand MPC head was done by a sculptor from Kansai area (Osaka I think).

Well if you ask me to be banned from RT.com is to be truly set free. Hell look what it has done for me. At first I tried the angry fan thing in retaliation but thats what it seems they want you to do. It brings activity to the site and makes the die hards hate you even more. I ended up choosing to stay out of the gossip, some times I want to comment but its funnier just to read what others are doing and keep out of the line of fire. My ban was pre Kev or around the time he came on board, I meet him a a BBQ and he was friendly guy, if he is evading questions then that is his job. Is there a better way of doing it, possibly. Ive been told at one time I was the Enemy of the State over at HG back in 2007, but in person or in chat the staff have all been friendly. RT is their sand box, let them call the shots as they want.

First time I saw any of it was at the Monthly Shrine Sci-fi show in Los Angles. Big West back when they had an LA office presented 15 min of the first OVA. I remember seeing the character settings and I swore off the show because Mikimoto wasn't involved but later the story won me over.
