I know. The news was reporting that the government was opening up a little bit and calling off some of the restrictions. Apparently even chinese people can't stand anymore the zero covid kind of politic of their government. So i was hoping that could help a little the manifacturing but apparently it's not like that.

So Ginga senpu Braiger from Pose+ has been postponed (again) to may 2023. We should be around one year after the original release date. I am wondering if it's just a problem of manufacturing (covid in China) or if it's more something related to the engineering of the toy. Also, who knows what will happen to the release of Baldios, scheduled for January next year...π€

Yeah, i figured Bandai's habit to leave things "uncompleted" was something i should have watched out for...too bad. Still, i think it shouldn't be impossibile to find a Ranka lee in a similar scale.
-
Yeah, i i did notice them while i was doing my first recon...they definitely seem to shine among all the other ones...do you also have the Sheryl nome figure from Bandai figuarts? The one with the white outfit? Its height would probably work better on my collection but still on the fence...
-
Thank you! They look really nice, especially their facesπ₯°...might be a little bit too tall for my taste though...i hate it when the human beings figures are taller than the mechsπ

Hey guys, i need a suggestion. I wanted to add to my Macross Frontier collection a Sheryl nome and a Ranka Lee figure. I saw the web offers many different options but it was kinda difficult to understand exactly the details and the quality of the each item. What are your suggestions? What are your favorite figures released so far? I was looking for something not too tall (around 16 to 20 cm) and not too expensive. Thank you so much for all your comments!

πππ The ones on the first link look really interesting! Thank you! I will definitely give it a tryπ

I thought so too but i had to change my mind. I did buy some WD for the VF-1 but first it's really hard to find white decals, most of them are red or black and they don't go will with the blue chassis of the YF-21 in my opinion. Second a YF-21 in a 1/60 scale is much bigger than a VF-1 in the same scale. Probably i should go with a 1/48 scale(which are not so easy to find). At this point i should just try my luck with the ones included in the Hasegawa kit but i heard they are terrible.

O my...they look really good! Such a huge improvement from the stickers from Yamato! Great work on the weathering too...subtle but really well done. Who needs a Bandai DX when you have a YF-21 like yours. Amyway, are those stickers still available somewhere?
-
Thank you! I hope so too. It's kind of weird when i think about it, finding those decals became my holy grail for macross collecting(and i have been collecting for more than two decades).

@nightmareB4macross As i promised some shots of my YF-21 and my M+ shelf. I think from these pictures you can see two things: 1. Despite its age the Yamato YF-21 is still a great looking toy, even among the most recent releases. 2. The stickers really suck. I think that, once i will be able to replace the stickers with some decent waterslide decals, i won't feel the need for a DX release.
-
Thank you for your advice but yes, I tried to do that too (not on the YF-21) but i found it very difficult to get every stickers of the same dimension. They just seem off. Also, i am past forty and my sight is not the same of when i was youngπ Need something easier. I will definitely post some pics of my YF-21 (I even panel lined it. Partially) as soon as the sun gets up here in Italy! Thank you for asking!

Personally i would trade a Bandai YF-21 for some good waterslide decals for my old yamato YF-21. It's the only thing i cannot stand about it. The stickers look absolutely horrible(it's always like that on blue plastic) and they make everything less...realistic. I am sure that, if could find some well-done decals, the old yammie would still look absolutely gorgeous and very likely i would not feel the need for a new version of it(if they do not correct all the mistakes we have seen so far. If they do, well, then it's a different question). One day i am going to try to use the ones included in the 1/72 hasegawa kit but i am afraid they will be too small.
-
Thank you.I think i should be able to make it. After so many HG and old kits built i am ready for something new.
-
Thank you! It was hard to tell from the pictures but what you say makes a lot of sense now. How difficult they are to assemble compared to a regular bandai MG kit?

After few days of search I was able to watch the movie from the 80s and i was blown away! It is fantastic! I would consider it one of the pinnacles of Japanase animation, at least from the techinical point of view. Too bad it's not very long. Anyway, 70 mins were more than enough to fall in love with the characters, the universe, the mechas...so brilliant under so many point of views. Thank you for all your suggestion! Also, i was considering buying some of the 1/100 model kits. How tall are they? I couldn't find any specific details around the web.

That's ok. You will find all the support and the empathy you are going to need in this forum. We are all in the same boat.π

No words on the YF-19 PF yet, right?

I am trying to approach this great manga/anime. I think i will be able to get all the tankobon released so far in my own language. My understanding is that there also two movies out there, one from the 90s and the other one more recent. Is there any way i can see these movies in english language(even with subtitles would be great)? I always found this opera very fascinating but apparently not so easy to have access to outside japan. Thank you.

So every state will have a different tax? That's just...unfortunate for you. I feel sorry about that.Really.I still have to understand why i need to pay a tax for buying something abroad which i cannot buy in my home country(it doesn't go for every japanese anime related goods but for many of them).

Thank you for the explanation, the situation is very similar here in Italy, with packages from stores such as AE or the old NY that were magiacally free of every importing tax. Now they are taxing EVERY pacakage coming from non-EU countries so it's always 10 euro for the small ones and 20 for the bigger ones...i think it's just extortion but, what can we do?

Your most recent Macross or toy purchase! General thread.

Despite its age and all of its flaws i am always amazed to see that these first releases were actually...panel lined. And they are a piece of macross toys history. -
Christmas sure, but which year?π Jokes aside, sometimes even Bandai comunicates pretty late in the month the exact release day, right?
-
Same exact thing here. Bandai's policy is getting every day more absurd... personally i couldn't even find the pre-order for it on AJP...good thing gunpla are not very expensive so custom taxes won't be so tragic...just out of curiosity, how much do they charge in germany for importing this kind of goods? In italy with DHL is around the 30% of the purchase(including shipping which is absolutely ridicoulous).
