  1. I apologize in advance if this the wrong thread but i need a suggestion. Few months ago i placed a pre-order on bigbadtoystore for a non-macross but always anime related product. The release date for these items was july/august in Japan and the store list them as a september release.I know that the store(which seems very professional and reliable) imports via ship most of the goods so i was wondering if i should expect any delays on the arrival of the items...Do you guys have any experience on the matter? it's really not an issue for me, i just need to understand when those $ 200 will have to come out of my wallet and therefore plan my life accordingly(i usuallly buy on japanese stores and they always have been very accurate on the release dates). Thank you in advance for your help.
  2. Yes, i think that if you don't topcoat your models it's the only way to have your decals adhere to the plastic.
  3. Thank you for your advice. Yes, i finally found the courage to go along with the operation. I just used a cotton swab dipped in some water and a lot of patience. I was able indeed to peel it off without causing any damage to the VF. Luckily i did not seal it with top coat but just used some drops of mark softer/setter. I have to say some third party decals stick better than the official ones. Thank you again!
  4. I need some assistance. I am trying to take off a small waterslide decal that i put on my Arcadia VF-0D(regular version). The decal has sticked very well to the plastic and i am not able to rub it off with my fingernails, as i usually do. I was thinking about using a cotton swag with a couple of drops of alcohol on it but i am afraid i might ruin the plastic. What do you guys think? What do you usually do in cases like this? I really want to avoid the risk of scratching the surface of the VF since that it's a pretty expensive one and am very picky about this kind of things. Thank you in advance!
  5. That's a great idea actually. I have no clue of how to do it though so if somebody wants to take on the burden please feel free to do it.
  6. I see, then i guess i am really going nuts...anyway, just out of curiosity, do you guys like the new matt finish or you prefer the old traditional glossy one?
  7. I was under the impression that there was some kind of protective particles on that finish. Therefore, the application on the the re-releases...but maybe i was wrong and i just made everything up In any case the question still stands, why only on the Frontier VF?
  8. I was thinking... the new Frontier re-releases they all have a matt finish. The reason behind that is, from what i understood, that the extra layer would prevent the plastic from yellowing. But if that's the case i don't think that the new VF-1s (angel bird for example) actually have that kind of protection, right? I might be wrong but if the reason is really the yellowing i find it weird they don't use it on every other VFs....
  9. You are not wrong but considering the size of some of the Pose+ releases especially the ones from Gaogaigar i think there's hope for a Beta fighter.
  10. So in the end i decided to start selling only part of my Macross (and mospeada) collection. For now. As suggested by someone, i am posting the link to the topic. I hope you can find some good deals. Please let me know if you have any further questions. Thank you!
  11. yes, i am aware of them and actually did already use their pages for some transactions. Thank you. The problem though is that i have the feeling people do not feel comfortable to buy toys that are expensive without the protection of ebay or other similar platforms. Also the fact that i am located in Italy doesn't help. There aren't many Macross fans around here or in Europe in general and we all know how much shipping cost can affect the final price of a macross toy.
  12. You are right definitely right but it's even harder to let go one by one instead of everything together. It's like a stab in the heart every time i prepare a package. Also, i was hoping that someone would be interested in buying the entire lot since it might have a good reselling value. We will see!
  13. That's a great suggestion actually! Thank you!
  14. Sure thing and thank you for the advice! Actually i already made a post a couple of months ago with few things for sale... Nobody really seemed to care though. Maybe because i look new on the forum but i am really not. I am a user since 2007/2008 with the nickname of ryoma-01. Unfortunately i couldn't retrieve my password after the hacker attack on the server some months ago so i had to create a new account.
  15. Ah ah, don't worry, i used to have the same problem too. Actually probably i still do for some of the lines i love the most. Anyway, i will definitely be trying to sell something here too, whether it's going to be the whole lot or just piece by piece
  16. Thank you for your symphaty. Last few years have been really tough for me and not only because of the pandemic. I find myself in need to let go of something in order to...surivive a bit better than what i am doing now. Luckily enough it's not something that i absolutely need to do from one day to another so i can take my time to organize things in the right way. I really admire your strength to start collecting from scratch again. It takes a lot of courage to do that. And a lot of patience. Considering i am almost 43 and i started collecting macross toys in the 90s to me it would be the end of an era. Which it's something i gladly accept. Anyway, i am under the impression that i probably should try and check the local marketplace here in my country or at least in continent(europe). Thanks for the advice, i will soon start to take a look at them.
  17. Hey everybody, So i am considering selling my entire Macross collection. Around 80 pieces, mostly Bandai dx, Yamato and Arcadia. What do you guys think would be the best way(I don’t deal with e-bay, sorry)? Do you think there might be somebody interested in buying the entire lot? Or maybe it would be better to sell it as separate lots(maybe one for each series, M+, Delta etc.). What are the best channels to explore? (besides the MWF, of course). Thank you in advance for all your suggestions.
  18. Looks great! I bought the kit few weeks ago but i didn't have the time to build it yet. Just out of curiosity, did you paint it and top coat it?
  19. Well, colors on a model are important to me. And i don't care very much if they match perfectly the anime counterpart. What works on the screen might not work in real life. Also, i am not planning to buy the other skull squadron re-releases so colors on the super parts would be incosistent compared to the other three VFs. I mean, i can get by with the different top coat finishing but the color of the super parts is something too...flashy.
  20. So i am considering top coating with a matt finishing only the super parts of the old release to put them on the new release in order to make them match the matt finishing. Honestly i am not a big fan of the new shade of grey (purple) that bandai came up with for the re-release. Actually i kinda hate it. Any thoughts about that? Did anyone already try something like this?
  21. I never got around to understand why there are 9 different releases of the YF-19(including Bandai, arcadia and 1/72 scale) and only two of the YF-21(yamato 1/72 and 1/60 if i am not mistaken)... i think that in M+ they have a similar screen time and they both play a very important role in the story(especially in the movie).

    Macross figures

You are right...her face seems too "squared". It might be the angle or just the pictures but i definitely need some more evidence in order to pull the trigger on this one.
  23. Thank you! I will definetely check them out!
  24. I just received an email from HLJ saying that my pre-order for the new Z Gundam Ver.ka won't be fulfilled on this print but i will have to wait for the next one, which is probably going to happen in the fall but they are not sure. It's the first time that something like this happens to me and I am pretty sure that this kind of mess is due to the new Bandai policy of not selling gunpla outside Japan. Anyway that's a different story. Now, do you guys have any idea where i can find a copy? It's very likely that i will be moving to another country in the summer so i really want to get this piece in the next couple of months...I am located in Europe. Thank you.
