What part of "it cost me $258.53" is un-clear?
Try checking out and see what it will charge you.
I'm asking wiseass because others have been saying you get charged tax anyways. A lot of online companies from other states are doing it. Why would I bother checking myself if others have already done so? What you're saying is contradicting that, that's why I questioned it.

Won't they charge tax though? I know they're in CA and I'm in NY but most places are charging tax for out of state purchases now. Some don't but I thought someone already mentioned that they do.

I have a renewal version with super parts already so I'm fine with that but if US retailer puts it on sale for less than $280 I may jump on it depending on how much they discount it.

Seeing that the store is located in the Bay Area, CA. You guys think they charge CA tax upon placing the order? Also, based on their pre-order policy, you will be charge as soon as they have confirmed your order in 1-2 days. So no pay later for pre-orders.
Edit: Scratch that. Looks like there's CA tax afterwards. So the DX Alto set total shipped to US-CA is $277.84.
So if you're not in CA there is no tax? I'm in NY so the CA won't matter for me.
Also, I don't see anywhere that is says they charge for your pre-order before they ship it. Where did you see that?

Nothing yet on the VF-5000g
Ok thanks. Wish they gave us some info. I can't imagine it's too far off from being up for pre-order

Has anyone heard anything about the VF-5000G release date yet?

I start off with Future during my weathering process, then finish off with a Matte or Satin clear coat. I do have to mask off clear parts so they don't get hazy.
I believe I used this Vallejo Matt Varnish at the time I did my Alto 25s and it works pretty well.
I tried out Vallejo Mecha Satin Varnish for a time, but that product is utter garbage and I highly advise to avoid it. It is truly awful and I hate it.
I've since switched to Vallejo Satin Varnish Polyurethane as I feel it is more durable after it's fully dried.
Awesome, thanks!

I have two of Alto's 25F and they're both as white as the day I got them, as far as I can tell anyway. I don't need the matte finish on this new release since I clear coated my own with one. I don't have the supers though and that's the only thing I would gain out of this release, but as @Lolicon said, the QC has been questionable lately and I don't want the supers enough to risk it.
Sorry if this is the wrong place to ask this but what did you use for your matte clear coat on your old Alto 25F's? Did you have to cover any of the parts when you did it like the cockpit canopy?
-
Oh damn. I have a renewal and super parts set but if this is a matte finish I might be getting one. I just worry about the QC. The WWM has some issues with fit from what it looks like. Hopefully this isn't the same.
-
That's a pretty cool score!
-
Was going to ask if there are any issues with this release but it sounds like there very well might be. It's tough when it looks so good for it to have any issues. I could understand over time things getting loose but right out of the box sucks. I want to reserve judgement and see if others have problems as well before I pull the trigger on getting one.

By mixing the length of the arms and some creativity, you can balance other modes on it.
Here are some examples from another tread over the years. These are using Flightpose stands, but you should be able to get somewhat similar results with Calibre’s.Thanks!

It'll be interesting to see how the QC is on this since the VF-25 WWM release seemed to have a few fit issues.

There is also another option for stands, which is the Calibre Wings Router-Style Stand 2.0. It works very similarly to Flightpose stands. Ver 2.0 appear to be much better than their earlier 1.0 version, as the improved metal base gives it more stability for banking poses.
Would that just be for posing in fighter mode?

I ended up cancelling my pre-order after seeing all these issues. I can always get one if I change my mind since it seems to be available in quite a few places. I already have the renewal Alto and Ozma anyways.

Damn, wish I had a spare room like that. Looks great!

I remember when those first came out. I had wished that I didn't have to pass on them. I ended up getting the Low Vis instead. But didn't have the cash for both. Nice score though. They'll look awesome when you have them set up.

With the economy going the way it is and Macros stuff more plentiful I think their crack budgets will diminish. They may need to switch over to huffing glue.
As long as they stay away from the Macross toys

Is it just the arm cannons not fitting snug that is the problem or are there other issues with this and the Hayate? Are there pics anywhere of the other problems?
