That's what I feared. That would suck on an Axoid as it's all dark maroon and black. No point in a repaint unless it can match those colors. @Jarrod had informed me the DX cannot accept paint to the exposed joints as they are nylon, which would kill the appearance. Nylon supposedly can take dye, but it's not something he's tried yet, and I can't undertake any of this anyhow (have to commission him or someone) as I no longer have steady hands to get such an endeavor right. I just hoped this one could be a little more of an option than the DX.

Zero interest. If the scale supports transformation and it doesn't have any, it doesn't deserve my purchase. I don't care if it's a license restriction because a transformable license went to someone else, in my opinion there's no point to it. Tiny little ones to stick to an SDF-1? Sure, but that's it. Now, for their thicc transformable one, if it's as heavy as those thighs might lead you to believe (due to diecast), I'll chase that chubby. I still think it may be a fun toy. Maybe as fun as a Chunky Monkey.

I like raspberry, but I see cherry there. Gonna ask again: Are there nylon parts in a 3Z VF-1? At least one visible in any mode? I ask, because that Mirya 1J is one step from becoming my Axoid if it can accept paint. (Nylon apparently can't)

I wonder if 3Z will release fast packs for these as standalone releases, or only with reissues of the figures with them.

The original prototype looked so much better. Not so bummed I skipped the metallic 1A 2 pack with him now. Still would like to own those, however...- 2524 replies

I know they aren't huge, but I did imagine 3Z to be a company that might insist on full swaps of entire products. Hey, if it's cost-effective to offer to swap out components, good, but I am a tad surprised.

Watching Jenius' transformation videos has always been my go-to for any figure he's gotten before I have. Bandai really ought to be giving him a kickback and including the links on a flyer along with the booklet. In all seriousness, when complicated devices like PCs have a "quick setup guide" as well as a manual, and that many companies already utilize Youtube as a place for support, Bandai not producing even unnarrated transformation guide videos for their premium products at least is a little surprising. Anyhow, got my "bargain" Amazon YF-19, and he seems intact. Gonna watch that Scorched Earth video again before anything else.

I'm glad it went to someone here. I was watching it, but kept looking at my wallet. One day I'll get it. You could post pix, you know.

I cannot imagine what this would cost to produce, but maybe I could see myself affording to buy one piece printed at a time...like a partwork? Speaking of which, the SDF-1 is MADE for Hachette or Fanhome/DeAgostini. I didn't do the VF-1S, 1701-D, BTTF Delorean, or K.I.T.T., but I would be on board for a transformable SDF-1. (TV version would be a little better, IMO).

That's a good response for a lot of situations. 😄
-
Ah, that makes a lot more sense.

Kinda defeats the aesthetic these were conceived for. I guess black acrylic would still be stronger than any original stands, though.

Part of me would like them to not have any text, it's true, but I'd most likely use them with matching valks. Hell, another part of me would love to have the series logo on them (a step too far, I know), but they are pretty damned cool already. I suppose a sticker set might be an option if they didn't have text. Of course, plain versions of the stand with all designs being stickers or decals would be possible then. Not sure that's best, but I'd have been on board for that too.

The more folks articulate those fears, the more real the possibility seems.- 2524 replies

Adding one more of the type you mentioned seems like a good idea, but these are a good start. I know I'd be interested in a set of these as bases, and maybe two of Kakizaki.
-
Glorious. Will there be a break if one buys the whole set of bases? Maybe so, but what they accomplished already is pretty fantastic!
-
If anyone else has that adapter, I'd love to know too!
-
Regional 30% coupon came back twice since, like 4 times in total, and while the base price keeps dropping, so I succumbed. Well, I can now complain the 21 hasn't dropped like this. Head lasers or not, it probably won't
-
Gotta ask, did you design the adapter yourself?
-
Why say this out loud? I already have enough trouble finding reasons to go on. 😉
-
Incidentally, do any of the current release feature nylon parts? I ask, because I wonder if a repaint is possible, as the DX has some nylon joints that are apparently unpaintable (nylon doesn't take paint, but perhaps just dye).
-
Oh, I know it's not DYRL, but even Super Parts as a side accessory, even not color-matched, would be nicer than nothing at all.
