    I still hit thrift shops (not expecting Macross stuff), and sometimes find the odd piece of vinyl I'm after and don't yet have. Finding something makes me feel like I did out of school when I spent hours doing stuff like that. Like a prospector finding a gold nugget. The internet, eBay especially, only fulfills when you find the odd item mislabeled and you score a bargain that others missed. That's like finding a platinum nugget (not so likely).

    I think I'm gonna wait for that too. I'm a guy who loves the actual IRL plane-based designs, and so skew to VF-1 variants, but I would want a YF-21 in 1:48. That is, unless I see one of the existing ones for like $10. I can only resist so much.

    At times I agree with you, in that I love saving enough money at the end of the year that I can actually buy a figure with the difference. However, you can argue that should Macross become popular again, the items could be just as cheap sold here as a result. That's part of why I choose to support shops that carry Macross, and ask buyers to order Macross items when they can. I want the shops to survive, and Macross to get more exposure to other customers.

    I'd considered ordering it too, but an online review cited looseness and attributed it to mold degradation. I'd be interested in your experience should you open and assemble it, @sh9000.

    For me, the green visor seems to clash with this livery/color scheme. If the visor were golden too...I dunno. Maybe. That woodland camo valk is a longtime want of mine since I saw Revell's USA release of the "ROBOTECH CHANGERS" version of the Imai kit of the VF-1D labeled as "Orbot". It's a natural progression of repaint ideas, and Yamato was smart to do it. I'd jump if DX/Arcadia did a new one....maybe even if KC did too...

    It's really hard to collect Macross figures on a budget. Trust me, I know. Aside from the good advice above, creating saved searches on eBay, Craigslist, etc. is a good idea. Especially those folks accepting offers on their listings. Most of all, if an item is not THAT far off from your price range, MESSAGE THE SELLER! You never know what might happen, and it never hurts to ask.

    I don't disagree, and I'm not one of them, but some do only get on board when there's a limited individually-numbered run of an item. Now KC has changed the terms after funds have changed hands, and I do wonder if some want to opt-out now due to that...and if they can. I can see how they would have a case.

    So...do the original 500 who ordered this get copies with the "x/1000" label they ordered, or will they now get the same "x/1888" label that everyone ordering now gets? I ask, because wouldn't changing those terms potentially be a reasonable basis for someone to cancel their preorder and expect a deposit refund? I can imagine some being upset at the extension of the run to where what they ordered, even if it's the label on the box, has materially changed after payment was made. Just curious...

    I'd ordered from them a few weeks ago, and the item arrived. It was the only order I'd ever placed with them, so take that for what it is.

    Sub-1/60 is problematic for me (Yeah, I know. Hi-Metal included), but this does look nice. I just don't know.
