Lots of Wonderfest vids on YT right now. Here's one Luna Park took, and I skipped ahead to the Arcadia section.

Time to consider it!.

$325 is def less than what I usually see the Yamcadia non-PF version go for. Don't even ask about the PF...

Odd. I have gotten the return after replacement. Maybe you needed to mention you already threw out the shipping box? Do you mean Bandai Namco? If you are emailing Bluefin, which no longer exists, I'm not sure Bandai is monitoring all the old contact methods.

Never thought I'd see the day, really. Even if MMC will be the best, I seriously want to see their Shockwave. Stunned Shockwave isn't in the wave so far, actually. The Cyclops (Shockwave) is prone to breakage if not very carefully transformed. Glorious item though. I'd love a 2nd copy.- 16945 replies

Is it me, or do those look like the last valks you have to choose from to go home with when the bar closes? I mean, they look like valks seen through beer goggles.
-
I hope to have some pics up soon as well. (Including a SDF-1 on an Archi!)

Maybe I shouldn't throw stones, I have the same coming in a couple days. Also just received a few sets of 1/60 KO Valkryie Factory Mechanic covers for Yamcadia VF-1s. (Was worried they would be the last AliExpress things I'd ever get due to the (temporary) USPS China shipment exclusion for a moment there.)

Wish I saw this thread a long time ago. Lotsa places are gone now. For instance, Image Anime lost their lease a few years ago and only remains as an online store now, but at least they're still around unlike Anime Crash (RIP). Forbidden Planet, Midtown Comics, etc. are still around, but won't usually be a place to regularly find Macross (unless Diamond were distributing some stuff...not sure about that now given recent news about them). Even those little shops in the Elizabeth St Mall have had turnover. Some within are gone as well. One, and you'll know which when you go downstairs, still is chock full of anime kits, especially Gundam (even some pricey DX ones), but no Macross when I was there a couple weeks back. DaShop, on the other hand, has stuck it out over the years across the street, and will have some DX and HMR, as well as Bandai and Hasegawa kits, and tons more. He specializes in cards like Yu-Gi-Oh and Pokemon, but he has tons of stuff. Here are some good profiles: https://www.instagram.com/reelworks/reel/C9nnLe7SOE7 My advice: If Victor is there when you come, he may announce a sale going on when you come in, but even if not, don't be afraid to ask (politely) if the price on an item is accurate. He'll never have prices on par with Amazon (He's got rent to pay), but he's one to give a break on listed prices. I've gotten DX, HMR, Godzilla, and TF stuff from him over the years, and all were happy purchases. Of course, the (permanent) Tamashii Store is in Times Sq now on 43rd and Broadway, and always has Macross DX and HMR on a daily basis. Thing is, everything is full MSRP and final sale. They will have store exclusives for Godzilla and other SHF and SHMA lines, but haven't seen a Macross store exclusive unlike the Japanese locations for obvious reasons (HG). Spend over $100, and you'll get a random colored NY store-specific arcylic shelf plaque. It's always worth going even if you don't buy anything. Kinokuniya has a location a few blocks away on 40th St and 6th Ave, and will have a lot of Tamashii stuff, but Macross is a rare bird there as the buyers say it hasn't sold so much for them. Almost half the basement is Godzilla, though. SHMA, Bandai vinyls, Super7 stuff, etc. BOOK-OFF also has a location within a few blocks on 45th St between 5th and 6th Aves, and will usually have a second hand DX, sometimes an rarer one and even fast packs, but, like Mandarake or JUNGLE, it's hit and miss what you'll find on a particular day. Usually something worth making the trip for though - always tons of anime, Godzilla, etc. (They have a 2nd location in Brooklyn too). If you hit those three Times Sq-adjacent stores, hit the two Minisos in Times Sq too. They will have Gundam, Ultraman, Godzilla, and other anime stuff like blind boxes/bags as well. They will definitely have anything Bandai wants to currently push provided it's below $50 range, so if there was a Macross push on HG kits, or blind boxes, they could have them, but stuff sells out and gets moved all the time. Beyond this, Flushing, Queens has had a few stores come and go, but Lunar Toy Store has stuck it out like DaShop, and like them, they have rent to pay, so don't look for Amazon pricing (closer to MSRP). If you are in NYC, it's a store where you'll find a HMR or DX in stock, and plenty more if you make the trip out there. Anyhow, if you come to NYC and are a Macross fan, you can definitely leave with something Macross from somewhere.

Why did they make him fat? Dreyfuss's face was definitely thinner in the film.

Sometimes I wonder if you are building a house constructed completely from unopened valk boxes. 😉

Ah yes, I realize now you are referring to the title of the thread where it's mainly discussed. A bit of a misnomer now, as the Valkyrie Factory/Fugu releases are pure knockoffs. (Serviceable ones though!)

The price on Amazon is dropping. Slowly, but it's happening. It was $256.79 the other day, sold and shipped by Amazon, and it's currently sold and shipped by Galactic Toys on there for $254.95. All with free shipping. Amazon is pretty good about refunds, and likely would ship you a new prior to asking you ship the original back if you want an exchange. At least when shipped and sold by Amazon.
-
Do you mean the Valkyrie Factory release?
-
I wonder what the headsculpt was. They did a smooth goggle-free 1J head in 1/72 that I still like a lot.
-
Because I didn't see it posted... @BroTaku79, I wonder if we can now get ThreeZero VF-1-compatible adapters for use with these stands? I'd be interested in a few.

Me, I'll never buy this, but it was funny to see ShowZ still put this up as their largest main item item followed with a 3P Tidal Wave figure (which evokes the SDF-1 too) for several weeks. You'd think the SDF-1 were all the rage right now. If it is, Valkyrie Factory could KO the Arcadia, but noooo. Damned frustrating. Even a KO of the Takatoku ala Happywell would be welcome.
