  3. See, that's what I expected with or without the box.
  4. Someone on TFW2005 got theirs and, while (thankfully) nowhere as bad as some of the boxes received in this thread, it was another one from ShowZ that had damage. They were in Ohio. https://www.tfw2005.com/boards/threads/fugu-model-fg-01-god-of-flame-1-60-jetfire.1252186/page-31#post-22638708
  5. I like the cut of your jib. I should be getting that HM Kakizaki myself. Might be the only version I don't have yet.
  6. Oh damn. Didn't think of that. I hope we don't get stress marks we didn't get before.
  7. Now where can one buy the official gloves? 😄
  8. They still live in my head. I'd really love to know who the photographer was, because there was lots of worldbuilding in their pics. Their Fang Of The Sun Dougram kit shoots all had their own environments too. Would make for a great photobook if they were all compiled like Toho filmbooks. I laughed, but then I cried.
  9. I'm known to make some from time to time. 😊
  10. I don't think Toho allowed them to go as far as they could with this license; it's not just TT being economical.
  11. Not that it matters, but you have a different budget than I do. 😄 Frankly, if you bought it new, from a retailer selling it as such, then you shouldn't walk away. Some do over box damage, as some don't care about boxes, but when you even do that, you do a disservice to those who do collect the boxes, and let stores off the hook for not caring how they ship. Now, if that's how I feel about the boxes, you can imagine how I feel about receiving broken merchandise.
  12. They shipped that one in the original shipper. Thats insane. I've bought items from them before, and they have packed brown-boxed items from the mfgr. in their own shipping boxes, so this seems an exception to me.
  13. I actually tried to post this from the event, but I had ZERO connection, and they had no accessible wifi. The event was PACKED. The organizers were quite impressed by this. I think there was an at least 70/30 split on who had seen Plus before and who hadn't. The screened version looked fairly standard, but had folks riveted all the same. Kawamori-san stayed for a set Q&A (no audience questions), and seemed quite pleased with the responses. Around 20% of the crowd understood Japanese, so his little jokes interwoven in had double-laughs when translated. While he asked more screenings occur there, and the venue rep seemed on board, nothing ground-shattering was revealed in regards to Macross other than acknowledgement of the current new distribution. He did touch upon a new anime that is somewhat sci-fi based he's been working on, and some hints about new VR experience he wants to do about human evolution. As for any opportunities to meet him, and possibly get a photo or autograph (the latter being rather important to me), the Anime NYC rep that was there was a taskmaster. As mentioned in the Anime NYC thread, his appearance at the con had a lottery for such an experience (although some caught him before and got things signed while there anyhow). Here, the rep laid down the law enforcing the previous exclusivity of that access forcing him to decline multiple requests for signatures and pics (myself included). Still, once he went upstairs to confer with the venue people, and 95% of the audience left, the venue staff, in a VERY kind gesture, came out to invite what stragglers were still outside to come back in and line up for autographs! It was implied Kawamori-san had felt bad about having to turn folks down initially. Yet, once again, the same rep shut it down once more, much to the surprise of the staff who had asked folks to come back into the venue. All said, as soul-crushing as that was, and as nervous as I was about getting the DX/HMR/Yamcadia boxes I had brought home safely again (Another two fans brought actual models to get signed, but were also shut down), it was a fun experience overall, and really great to talk to a couple model guys who understood what that aspect of the fandom is about. I even walked one to the train as we talked about the state of toys, models, and the current roster of places to get them in NYC and in Japan. I do regret not attending the con, but hope Kawamori-san returns to New York soon. Based on his reception, I'm sure all involved would want to make that happen.
  14. Lucky bastard. That's what I should have done. This was the Japan Society experience:
  15. Yes, I know. LP are at least staying in contact. Might they be trying to string me along? Could be. I've had less reputable retailers attempt that to outlast dispute windows with Paypal, etc., but I've had several successful transactions and extremely well-packed shipments from LP. This is the first issue, and it is clearly not their fault, despite it still being their responsibility to resolve. Let's see how this plays out.
  16. Yikes! I've never had something go so wrong with them. I hope they resolve that! (They have more stock)
  17. LP said Bandai declined covering return shipping, and I think they even mean domestic Japanese shipping. LP are still trying with them, but it seems Bandai is admitting some fault by offering a replacement.
  18. Stop sabotaging my dreams. ThreeZero or KitzConcept could be reading this!
  19. Actually, I was thinking of those when I said it. HMR is roughly 1/100, yeah? Mav would seem like Captain America before the jab in that company.
  20. They don't need to go that far. 🙄
  21. Yeah, I own it, but the 1A head looks wrong when I first encountered the image of a camo valk, and even a 1D, both as shown on the Revell box art. First impressions, ya know? But, I would lay money down now for a TZ Axoid! That scheme is a holy grail for me. Problem is, those schemes are Revell conceptions, not IMAI, nor anyone else. I mean they got the legs on backwards in those pics! Also, it was from before HG had ROBOTECH as a license to defend, so I don't know if it reverts to them, or somehow stays with Revell. Could be some entanglement there. Still, be it kit or toy, I believe the Revell versions were the first SDF era valks to be released in the states that weren't imported Japan retail kits. Honoring these schemes as part of the beginning of the ROBOTECH brand would make sense...to me, at least.
  22. Kinda mongrel valks you'd find at the pound. Seriously though, an alternate timeline where Hayao/Ben survived is an obvious storyline idea if the series ever gets readapted and stretched. That could allow for a green 1J, or even a 1S. Me, I always imagined a VF squadron on Mars for Axoid to fit into. Native stealth mode! Orbot being a trainer for wherever the Woodland 1As were deployed, etc. I think someone did do a custom Yammie 1:48 1J in green and flipped it on eBay awhile back, but said it was based on another character. Never seen anyone try customs of the Revell schemes on the toys...yet.
