The very fact that Wal-Mart Devestator ranks above an alternator should be a hint that this list is total BS. The very fact that the Wal-mart Devestator made the list actually should be a pretty good hint that this list is BS. Other than that, while I do agree with the general sentiment that most Japanese import toys are superior, this is an American toy magazine, aimed at American readers. By that I mean, while say, the SOC Gunbuster is flat out a superior toy to wetsuit Laura Croft, the Gunbuster isn't going to be recognized by an American audience as readily. What does make me mad about this list is that Hot Toy's Predator, and Robocop, along with Medicom's Darth Vader ranked below some cheap American action figures. These are iconic AMERICAN characters, and these are truly superior toys to say, I dunno, toy biz's bowser (ironically a crappy American toy based on a really cool japanese character) that ranked above the Medicom Vader or mecha hulk that ranked above both Hot Toys figures. This is kind of like the Oscars, where foreign films are relegated to small, less than significant, corner of the ceremony.

I really like the black with gold trim. I'm not thrilled about having 25th anniversary stamped on the side of my valk. I think it would have been cooler to make the squadron number 25, or something like that, but its not a particularly big deal for me.

Actually don't feel too bad about that stress mark. I have 2, as I liked him so much I wanted one to play with and another to keep MISP. I can't speak for every single one the market, but a good chunk of the ones I've seen still MISP have that stress mark. So I'm willing to bet it is not your fault.

How widespread is two right wing joint problem? Is it all, or just some?

My walmart had Longarm, payload, and dropkick and leader brawl, as well as dreadwing. I'm going to head down to walmart again tomorrow, if anyone is interested in any of those PM me and I'll see if they are still there.

There is some basic articulation in the knees. Nothing super. Also the way the tires hang off the legs makes it hard to do much with him in terms of crouching poses.

This movies was like a good joke told badly.

To the best of my knowledge, other than the 79 BB having clear windows, there are no major differences between the hasbro and the takara lines.

A bad mecha show has never deterred me from buying a great mecha toy I'm here for the art of the mecha, the plot in mecha shows always has been a secondary thing for me

I don't mind them. I honestly prefer DWaves stuff over IDW's stuff. Nor do I like IDW's story telling that much either.

Dreadwing would be alot nicer if he had elbows.

The actual revoltech transformer figures turned out rather nice.

a few powerloaders would be nice too. Maybe because these groups are its target audience? -
So what, sometime mid september we should see them rolling in?

Well they are stunningly crappy. You should check out some fan customs. Its amazing what a little silver paint can do.

Aliens Vs. Predator 2 Script and Movie Review
GobotFool replied to bsu legato's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I really do wonder Why this Aliens vs. Predator movie had to take place in the present day. I guess it’s cheaper to just go down to Wal-Mart, grab some crap of off the racks for the costumes, and uses a small American town as a setting. I'm kind of curious how much money they are spending on this movie. Maybe it’s the sub par acting, but something about this movie just feels cheap. Even the last two alien movies, sort of like them or absolutely hate them, had decent set design. Like the 1st AvP it seems we're getting another teen slasher movie that just happens to have aliens and predators in it. If they had to make a third AvP movie I'd like to see a total break with the previous two. I'd it set on an alien infested Earth, set somewhere after the events of Resurrection. Or better yet, we can forget resurrection and pretend maybe the sulaco had a second egg on it that was retrieved by Yutani. On the other hand, my ideal AvP movie would be one that never got green lit. AvP might be harmless entertainment, but by gobbling up crap this crap, your pretty much sending a message that movies don't have to be all that well made to make a bundle. Of course, this is coming from a guy who watched and enjoyed the Transformers movie (and owns a lot of the toys), so I guess I can't be all that critical. But I'm not under any delusion that what I watched was a good movie. Still, I got to say, don't let nostalgia blind you. Just because it has Aliens, Predators, Terminators, X-wings, Tie-fighters, Death Stars, Autobots and Decepticons doesn't mean it’s automatically good. Maybe they had cutting edge FX for their time, but if that was all these movies had going for them, they would have fallen into obscurity long ago. While I'd love to see space marines used in an AvP movie and have it set in the future, all that counts for nothing if they don't add some substance to the conflict, and have a compelling hero overcome it. Even a movie like 300, despite being 75% action, (and I really didn't like it that much, but I won't go into my reasons for that) had a compelling reason for the conflict, fighting an invading tyrant, a compelling lead who was willing to stand up to said tyrant against massive odds and a wife that stood by him no matter the cost. While these are not new or overwhelmingly fresh themes, they do breath some life into what would have otherwise been a very flat and boring film. You can't just sit back and watch these monsters beat each other up. Why are they fighting? Why should I care about the Heroes? Why should I hate/fear the villains? Why should I give them my 9 dollars? -
Aliens Vs. Predator 2 Script and Movie Review

Ugh... what is aliens without that sense of being surrounded by a claustrophobic industrial setting? I count this movie as a predator movie set in rural setting, that happens to have aliens in it. That makes it hurt much less. While I enjoy the predator movies I don't hold them in nearly as high esteem as I do the Alien movies (well the 1st two at least, though I admit to enjoying 3 and 4 as well). I tend to think of 4 as sort of the prototype for firefly, considering Joss Whedeon wrote it, and it is about questionable rag tag freighter crew. In my imagination I almost like to pretend that Whedon hated how Ressurection turned out so much he decided to make his own movie about a pirate crew in space, but thats just in my imagination. -
This could be as leader prime shiped by himself as well.

I used to own one (i was destroyed in a fire), I vaguely remember the loose hips. The main complaint was the way the head attatched, requiring (not really requiring as you could attach it without any part swaping but an optional neck piece that offered a firmer connection and greater range of motion was included.) The toes on the elephant mecha ( forget its name, Great Moss?) Can scrap easily if you don't handle them with care. And the treads on the bottem of the feet also wear easily. I'd still recommend it, but from what I hear stuff like the Ideon and the Gunbuster are much more solid.

PM'd you.

Because, you know, toys are made for collectors, not children.
-
people, that is what the invid scout looked like! other than the crab texture.
-
I say we raid their head quarters and make demands. This toy shortage has gone on for two long... Come my friends, let the toy revolution begin! No longer can we endure our toyshelves bare!

I have this odd impression that the wheels fold down the way they do because the designers wanted them to look like a pair of those fans that exotic dancer use.
