  1. Quoted for IMMENSE truth.
  2. I wish the Max VF-1J would hurry right along...
  3. I legitimately laughed SO hard at this. Just the thought of your gun feeling depressed and not wanting to do its job is hilarious to me.
  4. I wholeheartedly agree with this sentiment. I've stopped reading other sites and strictly come here for Transformers news. This man is doing Primus' work.
  5. Full disclaimer - I have zero affiliation with this studio, but I have become a fan in a very short amount of time. The devs are apparently big time Macross fans, and so I thought I should try to bring this to the attention of gamers here. This game appears to combine similar elements from things very near and dear to my heart - Axelay, StarFox, Macross, Panzer Dragoon, and merges them with superior voice acting, an exceptional soundtrack, and a unique art style. There's a free demo on Steam now, and the full game is set to launch on the 25th of this month for Steam, Xbox, and Playstation. The MSRP is rumored to be only $19.99, which I don't even see how is possible. I was ready to go in all for $60. Launch trailer Into The Void trailer One of the first things which drew me into this was watching a livestream demo with the devs in which they were showing some of the livery options for the protagonist's fighter. I felt like I saw a clear pattern forming, and it hit me like a ton of bricks when I saw the names of the color schemes. There's one for Roy, Hikaru, Max, Miriya, and several others which haven't been shown yet. One of the weapons tech notes I found in the game's database is called "Itano Turbine," which uses "clusters of high speed and high accuracy missile deployments." I hope others here will consider checking this out. I am wildly excited about it now. This might be my completely unexpected game of the year.

  6. I absolutely agree. Having these in hand, it's almost undeniable that making Mixmaster and Scrapper be arms instead of legs just makes good sense. They make for quite interesting looking arms, and I always thought that they looked kind of odd as feet. From photos on TFW, I am under the impression that Hook and Long Haul may be coming next, so it will be interesting to see how these turn out and whether they have any particular innovations.
  7. I would be thrilled to have Captain Sulu. I honestly love the eclectic choices they're making.
  8. I hope that you will enjoy them as much as I have. They are so much fun! (And that's something which I feel has been missing from so many of the transforming things I have purchased in the last few years.) I forgot a few more talking points. - Rubber tires for both. These roll incredibly smoothly. - I hadn't seen mentioned anywhere else that - like Hercules - the pistols will all apparently combine into a rifle. - I am not bothered one bit by the non-articulated fists on the robot modes. If it makes for better pistol grip, then good. - The diecast piston on Scrapper's crotch is a huge laugh. I can just hear Jobby the Hong going "boioioioioioioing!"
  9. I received the first Mecha Invasion Giant Legion set yesterday! Here are a few casual photos from my desk. I can''t even remotely do a review as well thought-out as mikeszekely, but here are some of my thoughts. - Show.Z store is not playing around with shipping or packaging. Holy crap. I went through 4 layers - with bumpers - before I finally got to the toys. - Size comparisons against a Lego Mustang Dark Horse and Storm Collectibles Mitsurugi. These are considerably larger than I was expecting. - Both of these things are absolutely phenomenal. I love the aesthetic, the colorways, the tampo printing, the lightup features, the onboarding of all weapons and Devastator parts. - Transformation is right in that sweet spot for me. They are just fun to transform! - I am sick of the slavish insistence on "cartoon accuracy." Barf. I think moving Mixmaster and Scrapper to arms makes good design sense, and I can't wait to see how Scavenger and Bonecrusher incorporate Devastator feet into their alt modes. - I don't know what kind of voodoo or deal with the devil Mecha Invasion has pulled in order to get these at their price point. Under $100 shipped for BOTH is just insane. - Up until now, my very favorite 3rd party Devastator is still TFC Hercules. It's old, but I utterly love the incorporation of all of the weapons and Devastator parts. Giant Legion looks like it might just take Hercules' crown... - I surely hope the remaining 4 will be out within a year's time.
  10. I'm super picky about which Transformers or 3rd party-formers I buys these days. I still have a special place in my heart for TFC's Hercules, as I thought the weapons and Devastator-parts onboard storage was undeniably clever. I also loved using the treads of the tracked vehicles as forearms and not as shoulder fillers. Mecha Invasion's take on this is intriguing, as it appears to have the same onboard storage elements. I honestly like how clever it feel using Mixmaster as an arm, as it makes Devastator look like he's got huge Popeye-like forearms.
  11. I am so curious if anybody has in-hand yet the first of the Mecha Invasion Giant Legion two-packs? I couldn't resist preordering these.
  12. Which I greatly prefer, to be blunt. I never cared for the "black goo" in the first place, and now it seems like Ridley Scott has turned his dislike for Aliens into an anchor plot device point of the whole franchise going forward.
  13. I will gladly give my money to whomever makes Charlie from the Alpha series.
  14. Thanks for the review of this. I know I am in the crazy minority, but I genuinely *really* want that Ruckus. He was one of the last G1 Transformers I remember buying back when I was still in high school. Good memories of actually having my own car and money and not have to beg mom and dad for a Transformer. Old habits die hard - oorah.
  15. I still don't get why in every PR shot I see, the rider's feet aren't going on foot pegs. I mean, this DOES have pegs for that, right...?
  16. Technically, 4 shield-wielders if you count Taskmaster... And maybe even 5 if we want to distantly count Bucky. (I know, I know, MCU version doesn't really count.)
  17. This is definitely the version which I want. Now, how does one go about acquiring this one?
  18. I didn't know Bridge was in X-Force...? I know he was in Six Pack (or Wild Pack, if you know) with Cable, and eventually went on to be in SHIELD.
  19. This. So much this. I'm one of the minority who still prefers the Arcadia YF-19 to the Bandai DX one.
  20. Ah, Warbot Defender! I still have mine. I still quite appreciate the APC-style car mode which didn't rely on an unsightly thin rear chassis/wheelbase. (Now that I think about it, this is also why I like Saltus so much.) If memory serves, that was the very first "whole" 3rd party bot I ever purchased. It truly started a domino effect which carries on today...
  21. I sincerely hope that we eventually get a King of Red Lions sailboat out of the license.
  22. My Threezero Patlabor Ingram is absolutely incredible, so I hope that these have about the same build quality. I am seriously reluctant to buy anything which gives Harmony Gold any support, but... I may make an exception for a Max VF-1J.
  23. Cable's body tech is way beyond affected by EMP. It's a hybrid techno-organic from way far forward in the future. Insofar as I can remember from my X-Force days, Magneto wasn't able to do much to directly attack him, so indirect attacks in the atmosphere wouldn't slow him down a bit. Also, his time travel tech isn't something he carries with him but is instead based on the Graymalkin space station in orbit around Earth. (At least, that's how it used to be back in the 90's.) I honestly truly hate how "micronized" time travel tech has become to the point that it's just carried around and can be used any old time by certain characters. One of the reasons I liked Bishop was that he was stranded and couldn't get back to his own time. And Cable, while possessing the tech, had to be *extremely* selective about how he traveled back and forth because of the ever-changing nature of the timestream. The original Cable books went so far as to explain that a chrono-physician had to "plot" the right course in the timestream so that the traveler wouldn't wind up disintegrated, and even doing so meant that you couldn't just jump anywhen you wanted.
  24. How much did this cost you?
