Haha, thanks? Yeah, at least it turned out well and nobody accused me or "ruining" the figures haha
-
I mean, if you got one of these you would both have an amazing looking Roy and technically also a DYRL Hikaru 1S it would ship to you snugly secure in this box after all haha
-
It depends on what options you want, but PM me if you're interested and I will tell you everything. But, just FYI, in a month you won't be the only one on MW Forums who has one
-
Thanks man! Wish I had your awesome hangar set to photograph them in
-
Thanks! Glad to know I could have used these photos as a "Next Release Announced" hoax haha Maybe I will on the Robotech Italy page

Well part of the idea with a Weathering Special is that we know Bandai will NEVER do that haha, so no need to hold your breath. When I saw Kakizaki was next I figured the over/under on a DX Roy was 2 years. I am not sure if the artist would be as comfortable working with the Yamato, cause it has that reputation for fragility (at least compared to the DX). But I can see if he would be open to it.
-
You already did haha
-
Yes, pilot helmets (the only difference for DYRL) are getting painted yellow this weekend, but I didn't want to hold up the photo shoot for that haha If you want a TV roy colored pilot, you might have to do it yourself haha

Alright everyone, here is the big reveal. I have been obsessed with the Bandai DX figures since before I got my hands on one, and then after I first transformed one I was smitten. I have been working on this project for over two months now, but the first three are finally finished. I am proud to present the Bandai DX Roy Focker Weathering Special Who wants one?
-
Yeah was going to add it to my stockpile for customization. But you clearly wanted it more haha
-
Let me guess, you got it for 47,000 yen
-
The TV Max doesn’t match the movie style strike parts (tail fins # and skull #) No sign of a Roy yet, but if you wanted to undertake an elaborate customization project, I am 100% sure that a Hikaru 1S could be turned into great looking Roy Focker 1S. And then you wouldn’t have to wait 2 years...

Oh man, I hope that A) they sell GBP separately (Don't want to buy another 1J just to get it) and that B) we get M & M's Super valkyries, I would pay $1000 for that pair I feel like it's unlikely that we will see both a TV Kakizaki and a CF, maybe just one or the other...

Gotta love all the tiny details, and I feel like you can't appreciate that without holding it in hand. Also waist swivel!
-
Is your VF-1S just a really cool "MP Jetfire" then?
-
Yeah, Mandarake is shipping DHL, which is a bit pricier than EMS but REALLY fast!

I fixed mine after getting some advice from a guy on FB. First, get yourself a baggie of this exact size tiny screw It’s Only 1mm longer than the original, but makes a big difference (Found mine at the Home Depot, <$1 for 2) Put loctite on it, let it sit for 30 minutes while you do the next step. then you will need to disassemble the leg, starting with the cover as said. After that screw is out you have to gently but firmly pull the thigh apart. This will give you access to the gray accordion looking piece of plastic. There is a screw attaching that to the metal part of the hinge, unscrew that. Now comes the really fun part, bend the hinge out as far as you can, then With the side that broke off flat on the ground, take a drill and drill down as straight as you can (Which will kind of go through the hinge top piece of metal at a diagonal angle directly towards where the screw is to make a hole just wide enough to put a small Phillips head screwdriver through. (Sorry the picture isn’t a bit better) Then it will look like this. This will let you actually put in a screwdriver in a way that will let you turn the screws you need to turn to fix the break. Then before actually trying to reattach it to the top piece with the new screw, I would undo the three screws that hold it to the hip join. Now you should be able to re-screw it in, one of my tabs was broken so I also applied a good amount of modeling glue that is supposed to be able to bind metal to plastic All around where the screw goes in the hole, but not in the actual hole itself, which is what Loctite is for. Line the screw up, gently re-screw it into the hole, it should connect snuggly, and let that part all dry for an hour. Then just carefully reassemble everything. It isn’t what I would call an easy fix, but better than just writing off a $300 figure right?

Three?!? Dang man! But yeah, if you want a TV a DYRL and a Max 1S (coming in August if there is enough demand for a run of at least 5) you could have 3 different ones haha but there are still 7 unspoken for for June delivery. Demand beyond that would push out into July. First come first served.
-
I am collaborating with an actual artist (like he makes his living that way, as opposed to a hobbyist) to make a run of DX Roys with weathering and/or panel lining as you like it (also choice of TV black or DYRL yellow head markings) To this end I have been planning for months, making custom decals, finding the right paint codes and hoarding a LOT of 1S from Japanese sites haha. I will be posting pics of the first three when they are finished. They only need the clear coat now, so should be Monday or Tuesday. Second batch should be good to go for mid June. If you want one let me know!

I got a package deal of SSP and Missiles if you're interested/tired of waiting
-
So I finally took the plunge and got a YF-19, and now I am REALLY excited for this one to come out. What are the odds we will see it by Christmas?
-
Not so it wouldn't rub in gerwalk mode I would think.
-
Easy, cause mandrake ships DHL and NY seems to be completely uninterested in eating that additional cost.

If you need some in hand by next week I can hook you up
