  1. That's a Kubrick Mospeada.....I think (the one at the front). Nice looking toys. I haven't seen a Gakken in the shops for about a year. And then it was like 40,000 yen.
  2. WTH! How come I never see those other toys in the shops?! I'd kill for that Invid. And the articulated Ray in similar scale to the CM..........never seen it before.
  3. Can't wait for Yellow's bike. And to echo a friend of mine "where in the hell did Yellow's bike come from anyway?!"
  4. Scroll down page one of this thread: It's post #11. http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?...2218&st=120 You'll see the custom i'm talking about. Basically a repainted Amdriver with the arm-guards, helmet from a 1/15 scale Mospeada.
  5. I bought a Nike-kick a few years ago. When I decided to sell it I got only a fraction of the cost because someone had painted the inside of the shoulder thrusters black. I had assumed that that was how it should have come. I argued that it "added to the realism and hence value of the toy" but the schlep at Mandarake didn't fall for that.
  6. Take a look in the Variable Motorcycles thread. There's a pretty nice custom using the Amdriver bike and a 1/15 scale Mospeada kit. I have to wait until I hear more reports about this wrong parts issue though. In the meantime i'm making a 1/1 scale prop of the the pistols from the show.
  7. Exactly how wide-spread is this problem? I was going to get another Ray so I could do the Amdriver custom.
  8. I think the main balance issues are because of the way too loose ball-joints in the waist. My Ray is far less prone to tipping backwards after tightening those joints with glue. Actually, after reading the CM review from Collectiondx, I have had a totally opposite experience. My windshield broke but other than that, it's a great toy with NONE of the problems mentioned. The pins that attach the arm-guards to the front fork just have to be taken out and attached TO the forks. Makes it alot easier to put them on. EVER so slightly deforming the pin (biting it works well) makes it a tight fit that will never dislodge. Oh, and in the episode with the dragons......WTH is the pseudo-sex scene with Aisha and Ray? The glistening fluids, the moaning.........
  9. Well, since 'Valkyries" are of Norse origin how about the VF-RAGNAROCK. That really says "Vajra. Your days are numbered!" Or the VF-THUNDERBOLT (since that's what Vajra means in Sanskrit. Nice parallel)
  10. The VF-Harding la Touche de Pomfrey-Smythe MD, LLB, BSC Now that's classy.
  11. Hmmm. I took the seat/back-section of the MH ride-armor off and balance is still an issue on my Stick.
  12. The "Zero-G" ?
  13. "Daddy? Why can't we eat dinner tonight? And why don't you work at ILM no more?" "Coz Graham prefers models in his movies. Now shut up and your hard-drive!"
  14. Yeah. Toby Maguire is developing it last i heard through his Maguire production company..
  15. Whenever I see the scenes in the asteroid, it always reminds me of the modern ear-wax medicine commercials. Anyway........I kind of think that the only way to capture the spirit of the original would be to do this as a fully CG movie. Even the gaping holes left by the deaths of Robert Preston and Daniel O'Herlihy could be filled with great CG caricatures and talented voice artists.
  16. Maybe the Megaroad attempted a fold, it went wrong, and the entire crew got blasted into a Hell dimension inhabited by Lawrence Fishburne and Sam Neil. Now that would be an interesting movie.
  17. Since Hikaru is Japanese, cast a Japanese actor. Same for all parts that are Japanese. Asians in cinema in general have been poorly represented in Hollywood. I can just see them casting a caucasian actor and calling him Rick. (assuming you mean an American production and not Japanese that is )
  18. So, how many of you think the "arse" of the CM and MH are too Booty-licious? The back-end of the MH can be detached anyway.
  19. Yeah. In the case of the Ghostbusters thing it's 100% guilty, but here it could just be coincidence. But it's such a unique sound that i'd bet top dollar that it's the exact same one.
  20. Another thing about the CM. The hand on Stick's gun is glued but ever so slightly. You can just pull it off and put it back on the peg in the palm of the hand whenever you want.
  21. Not at the moment. Sorry. I'm at work. And I can't seem to find any samples on the net. Actually, I think the title to my thread is a bit OTT, but I can't change it
  22. Some of you may remember this thread from about a year ago: http://macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?show...c=20764&hl= Basically, the Gunbuster staff set up a sound recorder next to a tv playing Ghostbusters and stole about five seconds from the ballroom scene. NOW....last night I was watching Mospeada and I noticed something. The sound of the Invid while they are flying is obviously from the TARDIS dematerialization sound from Doctor Who. It's the end of the effect which you don't tend to hear so often in the modern iteration of the show. Now, i'm sure that the BBC have a copyright on this effect so I doubt the Mospeada staff found it in a library. And those sounds were custom made by the BBC back in 1962.
  23. It really doesn't look awkward, at least to me. Btw, painting the black elbows on the MH makes a world of difference to the look of the figure. oh, and by God is the windshield on the CM delicate. I broke mine too. The only other piece that CAN break are the tiny locks at the base of the diecast struts for the wheels. However, the nice folks at CM have included replacements in the box (packed with the display stand) so if it does break (because you haven't slid it across while lifting it up onto the back-pack) you can easily swap it out for the new one.
  24. I bought mine on the day they were released in the only shop in Akiba to actually have them (as far as I know) and I still didn't get the stickers.
