Yep. The legs/top of the bike are completely detached. So is the underside of the bike and the cowl of the bike. before you even start transforming you have four separate pieces. And the figure tends to fall apart all the time. The legs just come off when posing. And the RT style joints are a joke.

I DO cry False advertising because a few mags showed the full skeleton with the GNU Valks. I'm sure many people bought them hoping for MG Gundam style internal frames. There's what, 3 types of GNU? Which has the full skeleton; last two or only the last?
-
Yeah. The lack of perfect transformation was a let down. Also, they have Revoltech style joints but have pretty lousy poseability-possibilities. And they are teeny-tiny. When the stand to a figure impresses you moe than the figure itself.....time to worry. On the plus side, the moto-slave can be transformed into the Moto-roid (which isn't shown as a third transformation in the booklet but IS on the box and in the line-art in the back and on the box.

The clear red canopy is removeable on mine. It's not screwed down and only held on by a couple of tabs. I didn't say anything about the back-pack or cockpit. Just the canopy. Should be easy to hinge it and paint the interior.
-
Seems leader Ani Megs has a removeable canopy. Should be easy to make it hin ged. Might even put a pilot in there. It has a seat too. And please, someone tell Hasbro to make this into a repaint/resculpt exclusive as Springer.

The Gundams were originally meant to be all white as a tribute to the storm troopers in SW. However, the producers apparently wanted them to be "red, white, blue and yellow to be more American" or something like that. Most people though don't know what Macross is in the general public. About 1 out of every 100 people i've met has every even heard of it.

Makes me wnat animated valkyries..............and not in the vein of Toynami superposeables
-
Within the space of a week i've bought/been given almost all of the first Wave (and some of the second) of Animated. What is it about these toys? I've never enjoyed a line of Transformers toys more than I do these. A lot of people say that it's because they're more expressive than other toys. I think that's part of it for me. Most TF toys ignore the fact that they are supposed tom be living rowboats with personalities so they end up looking TOO robotic. These toys bring out the personalities more than any other TF I have seen. Actually, I think these are the first "charicatures" TFs we've ever had. Perhaps this is how the Cybertronian Gerald Scarfe would draw Prime and Megatron in the papers.

1/60 perfect transforming vf-1 from yamato?
Alex replied to Shaggydog's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
Sigh. When I read that all I could think about was tiny 1/60s flying around China helping with the relief effort: "The fans can wait. We got people to rescue! Skull Squadron.....LAUNCH!!!" -
They MUST have expected this feedback though. When I saw that the samples had no fast-packs I assumed the final production version WOULD have them. I also assumed a stand would be a no-brainer. I'm glad that the 11's gun-pod IS over-sized because it means that I can commit hari-kiri with it in protest.

Does anyone have a pic of the animated Starscream/Cyclonus custom. I saw one about a week ago and can't find it again. Come to think of it, I saw a yf19 custom using the SS mold also.

1/60 perfect transforming vf-1 from yamato?
Alex replied to Shaggydog's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
I went to Sakuraya and Kotobukiya and both told me that this is due to be released in either July or August. It's definitely not June as both their "incoming stock" charts show the June releases and the 1/60 is on neither. August!? -
Mospeada production steals from BBC. Shock!!!! Horror
Alex replied to Alex's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Yeah. Except the Tardis sound is actually considered a piece of music by the BBC. It's not a sound effect. -
Yeah. I also prefer the "thigh-heft 19". The 1/60 just looks saddle-sore. Always bugs me to no end.
-
I'm sure Graham knows but I see them just doing these three valks and stopping there. There are so many other mecha that they are/will be doing for this line that we will probably see just the 11, 19 and 21. Please prove me wrong Yamato.
-
They really are gorgeous in the flesh/plastic. Hmmmmm. Me thinks these will be receiving some spare Revoltech joints in the near future.
-
Well, wave 2 will feature a few of the Super robots, Dancougar also I think. Has there been ANYTHING said in regards to this line featuring any more Mac figures?
-
They "authorized" it because they are following the bulbous appearance of the 19 in the original line-art. If you mean the skinny legs of the 1/60 19, THAT'S technically inaccurate. And again, what was with that complete skeleton that we saw in the hobby mags? Is that only featured in some figures and not he Mac Plus ones?

The dust jacket is pretty cool but that's about it really. Ok, I guess it's got some nice photos of the "real world" locations and some nice alternative interpretations of the Garland in different settings (can't remember if those were fan submissions or not, anyone?)

Is this pic a recreation or the actual guy? And the comment about the police. There was only one guy? Do you mean he just watched the guy stabbing those people yet didn't fire. I'm not sure of the details.

Good to hear that you are ok, but doubly good considering how close it was to your office. That's pretty damn scary. It's really weird for me too in a way. I've been in japan for years an i've been to Akiba more times than I care to mention. it's one of my places to go and get away from work etc. It's changed the way I feel about the place now. I wonder if there will be a suspension of all the regular activities in the streets following this as a way of "mourning".
-
It's really ironic. He said that he "no longer cared about the world" but did his very best to leave his impression on it. I was actually planning on going to Akiba that day but canceled to have coffee with a friend. The comment about Akiba being a happy place like Disney is what got me about this whole thing. It's a place where people go to get away from the real world. it shouldn't happen in a school, a nursery....and it shouldn't happen in a place like this. BTW, it would be a coincidence but IS save ok?
-
I'm sure that a lot of you have heard about the terrible thing that happened yesterday in Akiba. I won't go into the details. I want to put up a thread to pay respect to the 7 people who died and show sympathy for the families and friends of those people.

Macross Frontier Episode 10 Talkback Thread *READ 1st Post*
Alex replied to azrael's topic in Movies and TV Series
Yep. There was an add for the blu-ray, box-set of Zero on after the episode finished. BTW, did anyone else notice the clapper bit after the ad break. Before it claps we see a blue 0D and what i thought was the original Sara, Shin etc. Then it claps and it's the "Cast" with a 25.
