Thank god someone else managed to do this. I didn't wanna be the only one and be doubted And since they only need to adjust the size by a fraction, can I suggest that SAVE pass that along to Beagle for the improvements on subsequent releases.
-
I'm hoping that someone else can transform the Beagle with the head attached so that I don't have to go to the trouble of posting a video It takes a little finesse at first but I can do it now quite easily.

Ok, good point. Open the visor and put the figure in so tip of the visor is going in first. That allows the entire head to cuuurve in through the opening. You might just have to angle the figure's head up a little, but not that much. I tried putting the figure onto the back connection points first and also putting the figure's head through BEFORE connecting it to the back points. Both ways worked for me just fine.

Remember that you have to open the visor first and angle it in. At least that's the only way i could do it. You can see that they've designed the collar to fit the helmet but got it a little too small.

Though i'm not happy that the tread is so sparse. I really want to replace those tyres with something more like the MH's.

He did get one thing wrong in the review. It actually IS possible to put Stick in the armour without removing the helmeted head. All you have to do is open the visor and put him in at a slight angle. Works no problem for me and does not scratch in the slightest.

A big issue with the fabric is that it makes it very difficult to remove the suit to tighten the joints when they become loose without tearing the suit. Make that point very clear to Beagle. -

The Beta is selling for $333 in some places in japan? Aw, man.

I don't know if this is a valid suggestion, but I foind that the stand does not let the feet settle on the ground when it's standing on the base. The feet hover ever so slightly off the base. Big time nit-picking but something that I find a little annoying. -
Damn. The left leg of my Beagle was went incredibly loose all of a sudden. When I tried to take the the cloth off the under fabric stretched but the red pleather did not so that split right down the side of the torso. Then, when I tried to fix the hip the screwdriver destoyed the head of the screw but managed to make the hip even LOOSER. Now I have a limping Stick whose split his pants.

I mean that they would do stories that feel a little weightier than what's on offer here. And I meant the idea of an anthology that expands the universe than one that creates mininon-canonical parodies with no weight.

Didn't see anyone mention this but i'd like the Arm-Guards/front wheel guards to lock in position or at least be tighter. They spin out of place far too easily. -
I don't doubt they WILL do more side stories. I DOUBT that the quality will be up to much. It's all going to be inconsequntial, throw-away fare.
-
I agree about the new artwork for Macross First being very good but we've had SDF, it's reimaginign DYRL. I could have done without another telling of the story. As for the rest of the mag, Frontier was already a parody of itself. None of these throw-away side stories are needed.
-
Picked up a copy of Macross Ace- of-Spades, which is neither ace nor in spades unfortunately. I really wish Macross would do more interesting side stories. Instead of a tired old retread of SDF, how about pulling a Back to the Future 2 and telling the unseen stories of other charactersa during that time. If this had been for an American property, i'm sure they would take it in a more interesting direction (a la Gotham Knights etc).

The credits on the Beagle's box show YACALOG's name. I've seen his site (and am currently emulating his improved Gakken) but don't know much about him. What did he contribute to the Beagle?
-
Hmmm. I actually quite like these book-style boxes for the Cyclone. BTW, the crotch on my Beagle is starting to tear a little. More accurately, the red is peeling of the white cloth underneath. I think I went a little too far with the hip articulation. Somehting to be careful.

I knew I would risk getting some flak for it.

I really was just kidding around. I wasn't being totally serious.

I'm really beginning to question exactly who wrote Frontier. Here's how I picture it. INT-Kawamori's office. Late night SK-"ok, bring back Hikaru et al. Check. Explain everything about Proto-culture. Big ol ticker-oony. Great. This is one big ol fan-w$nk of a script. I'll be a hero. FROM BEHIND, A FIGURE EMERGES FROM THE SHADOWS AND PLACES A GUN TO KAWAMORI'S HEAD Stranger- "Don't move. Good. Now. You're gonna make some changes to this script, see. SK- "Who are you?" Stranger- "Call me Carl M. Nah, too abvious. Call me C Macek." SK- "Uh. O.....K?" Stranger-"Now, you're gonna put Invid in the script." SK -"What?! Can I at least make them giant lobsters?" Stranger-"Fine. And I want a male character who gets mistake for a girl. A real Yellow type." SK-" Why?! That makes no sense. How'd he end up a pilot?" Strnager-" God, I dunno. Just create some civillian provider type organisation." SK-" BUT.......fine. Anyhting else?" Stranger-"Yeah. Everybody in power armour that transforms into bikes" SK-"AW. Can I at least have them be like planes instead?" Stranger-" Yeah, whatever. Just make sure they have powered armour suits" SK-" Any more requests?" Stranger-Yeah. Throw in an android. Call her Janice." SK-"I prefer Grace" Stranger-"Whatever, we can just dub over that for the US" SK-"WHAT!?" Stranger-"Nothing!" SK-Yeah, whatever.....hey.....that's not a gun. It's a stapler!" Stranger-"AND AWAY INTO THE NIGHT I FLY!..................................Is there like a latch on this window to........?" SK-"No, you just have to pull it up at an angle.........Yeah you got it.." Stranger-"AND AWAY INTO THE NIGHT I FLY!!!"

I can get mine out about half way. I think you have to rotate so that it matches up with a slot and peg or something.

Managed to transform the Beagle sans instruction booklet for the first time on Sunday. Took about an hour but I made it. One thing I wanted to ask was whether people are having trouble pullin g out the thrusters/hub-caps. I needed to use something to lever them out. Wasn't easy. I'm really afraid that they might break under that kind of force.
-
Looking over my Mospeada more closely I noticed some minor complaints- 1) the back end of the bike is a little warped so it doesn't line up with the front. 2) the rear wheel is not glued correctly around the inner edge of the tyre. That is, there is no glue on half of the inner edge. Nothing major though. Very happy with how it turned out.
