I'm guessing BBTS isn't going to get that discount. And I ordered back in March, but BBTS doesn't list the Nupetiet as a bonus (not that I really wanted it). I wonder if the BBTS will even get this figure in the initial shipment or if I'll have to wait until the next batch. I guess we'll see.

Holy cow! Yeah, I just looked through ebay prices for these, and whereas E, F, and J's go for $250-300; J Kai, C, and S go for $450. Aren't these all the same toy with different paint jobs, and didn't they all release for around $170/18kyen? What a racket! I understand the VF-31J Kai being an exclusive and selling for more, but why are Jenius and Arad so damn expensive? Did they not make as many or are they really that much more desirable? I'm tempted to make an entry into this series, and I do want a Hayate just to have the main character's valk (and a mini Freyja), especially since these valks got @jenius highest rating, but I still don't wanna spend $300 on it.

Please excuse my off topic rant, but this is something I feel strongly about... It's a quick, easy way to let people know that the forum appreciates their content. Personally, I try not to overuse it, but if I see pics I like or something makes me laugh or is very good, it only takes me a click to give a little satisfaction to someone and thank them. It encourages people to post more of the content you "like" (or just more good content in general), keeps people coming back, and makes people feel good, none of which are pointless. And being anon makes it a small way for every member to contribute as a part of the forum instead of just individuals. I know that I would probably ignore this place if it weren't for the love I get from the forum in all forms, whether anonymous likes or reposts. I've seen good forums die because they had no positive feedback system, became full of criticism and pointless posts, and made people fearful of posting at all. It makes me feel SO GOOD when I post things that get a bunch of likes, and knowing that I gave that to someone is just as nice. I come here for the fellowship of common fans, a big part of which is hitting that like button. I sincerely hope that I could encourage you and others to use it more often.

Cool Rainbow Dash! Not sure where these other, weird figures are from. Must be one of those old boring space movies with all the horrible FX and crummy dialogue. -
It suddenly occurs to me... why does no one ever include a ladder accessory with these toys? They included the silly antenna but not the cockpit ladder?

Yup, NECA. Most of the time the plastic is soft and maleable, but it does seem like weak plastic. I've only had one actually break. Usually a joint comes apart or is loose in my experience. Most stuff I've gotten works great, but not something you wanna play with a lot. The queen was a totaly POS though. Anyway, BBTS told me to keep it and sent me a new one!!! I guess the pics were pretty convincing. -

Well, poop nuggets! Just opened my Alien3 Dog and the damn legs fell right off of it. Looks like the hip socket on the right leg was malformed. I guess I'm about to check the return service at BBTS. I hope I can get a replacement. I also got some eggs while they were on sale. Mmmm, eeeeggzzzth. -

Godzilla is neither hero nor villain but both the bringer of death before him and life after him. He arises from the bowels of the earth and is the embodiment of her fury that also brings life. Praise be to the great, green, beneficent one, the destroyer, the creator, the alpha, and the omega. May his path be blessed and his rest be deep. So yeah, crazy cult Godzilla. Hail Godzilla! -

Sorry, I meant no offense, just made an observation that I figured was due to the angle and lighting... and they aren't always allowed to get the face right are they? I remember that being the reasoning as a kid. I've always loved that car! 69/70 was my favorite. Always wanted one, but I got a 69 Ford van instead. Priorities! -
Omg, lol! They are so imposssibly svelt! But yeah, don't get me wrong, these are some nice figs. Nice reference pic, thanks.

Funny story about that... I offered to buy this not knowing about the DX, and directly after found the DX YF-21 thread that I hadn't seen before. I do own a DX YF-19, and it is quite a nice piece, but seems over complicated and fragile. I watched jenius' vids and others which sung a lot of praises despite the utter failure of the 1/72 (which I have). Yeah it doesn't have the tampo of the DX or the sharp, crisp lines, but... I kinda like that. It's more like a toy from the show instead of trying to be a military replica. And I'm impatient. I've also seen Bandai show off things and never make them. Now that I have it, I'm happy I did. I love this thing! It lives up to Jenius' reviews. The stand is a necessity because it's difficult to pose without it, but this one is really nice. Anyway, to answer your question... probably not. I'm not the type for multiples, and I kinda like having one really good example of each manufacturer. This'll do... unless I feel rich and Bandai ticks all the boxes... maybe. Oh, and I think I see an easy way to adapt the DX fold drive. -

Lol, ^that kinda looks like a young Burt Reynolds more than Keanu. Just got a beautiful new bird in the mail today from @Buddhais. This completes my Macross Plus pair. I'll be posting some poses with them this weekend perhaps. Definitely going for the pose in @Sanity is Optional's avatar. -
Having just acquired the Hikaru figure, I totally agree, although I think they tried to copy the anime without regard to actual 3D human characteristics. Just googled this perfect example... Honestly the Roy figure will probably look oddly proportioned when he's in hand as well. The camera always adds 10lbs, lol. So when you take 10lbs off for an irl figure of a character who's impossibly skinny with a huge head, it's gonna look funny.

I can't believe no one has mentioned this one yet, it's so obvious. I don't think any of you are seeing the BIG picture here (or maybe it's just not your favorite). Personally, my absolute favorite mech is... The SDF-1!!! It's what started it all. It's a mech that's big enough to house a city, actually DOES, it transforms, holds all the valks, has the machismo, crew, and good fortune to survive multiple attacks, and even then TAKES OUT THE ENTIRE ZENTRADI FLEET IN ONE FELL SWOOP, and the man at the helm is freakin CAPTAIN GLOBAL, the awesomest character of the whole show. It's a marvel of human ingenuity being a wrecked piece of crap that landed here, that we fixed it up, and proceeded to take on an entire alien civilization that attacked us for it. We lived in it, broadcast our culture, and saved the world (sorta) with love... GUSH!!! How can you not love the SDF-1 above all other mechs?! Well, just my humble opinion. (yr all WRONG!)

I don't have a DX to know what's possible here, but I had the same problem with my Aliens Cat Power Loader. The hydraulics looked awful because they used really crummy silver paint (which they then tried to "weather" the same as the rest of it... which also sucked). I took it apart and am looking for some shiny wire or rods to replace the pistons. My local hobby store had some nice, shiny aluminum wire but it wasn't big enough. It would have been great for this application though... if you don't mind hacking up your DX a bit.

What kind of masking tape do you use for modeling? Is it something special that seals well or will something like frog tape work? I don't exactly trust regular household masking tape or even the blue stuff. Frog tape is supposed to seal better, but again, that's for household painting. If Bandai's tampo isn't great, is there some way to seal it to make it better, like some sort of matte clear coat or something? Anything you recommend?

Ah, this is one of those optical illusions isn't it? It's really the same valk.
-
OOOOH! That'd be cool! Now if only one could get the magnets INSIDE the valk so it doesn't need a platform to float. THEN you'd have a REALLY sick display!!!

I'll help with that. Thanks for the reminder. Kinda wanted the first run but passed and didn't manage to snag any after, but this one is more my style anyway. Plus, wouldn't Hikaru have wanted to continue honoring his senpai?

Well, I put Hikaru in a snapping pose out of the box and promptly snapped the stand support not realizing it only bends one way (why?!). Oh well, my bad. My only complaint is the hair is loose (probably just mine and easily fixed), and... does he always have that harness on in the show? -
She wears it whenever she's working in her family's restaurant iirc.
