  1. Well we all want it. Having space for it is an entirely different issue. The question is whether or not you can even land on during PO madness.
  2. "Cheaper" For DX Bandai released is a relative term for me. The base Valkyrie is cheaper, but Bandai will nickle and dime us for all the accessories that Arcadia has been including on their 1:60 releases. The total cost of the 1:48 Valkyrie, Missile set, Strike/Super parts set, and shipping for each will be more than what Arcadia is asking. But you do get a bigger, more updated Valkyrie.
  3. Just got this this email morning:
  4. OverTechnology = Anime Magic?
  5. When I purchased my Yeti Stand Alphas it did take some time. It was highly dependent on what he had on hand at the time and when he would get restocked from his suppliers. In my opinion, they are well worth the wait.

I hope there is a Macross HMR announcement soon. My CDJapan points are going to start expiring next month.
  7. You forgot to mention that they could always move to a larger place for more display and storage space.
  8. I know, right? But if you think about it, what you just said is what terrorist propaganda would sound like. Nice set-up! And "The Truth" can be whatever you want to to be depending on your point of view. Plus cherry picked facts and wording also help a lot.
  9. I have recently concluded that the "Empire" is the legitimately elected government. Thus, the "Rebels" are no more than a terrorist organization trying to overthrow it!
  10. Headmasters and Powermasters Transformers! They came after MOSPEADA I think. Uchuu no Senshi (Starship Troopers) is also late 80's though the book was 1959. I believe this should be common knowledge for those in this forum?

Only because I stumbled upon it! I know it was a month ago. 1:48 Regult and Gulag. What dose the rest of your display shelf/case look like?

Imagine 1:60 scale Monsters, Regults, Glaugs, etc. We would like them, but where would you put them? Lack of display space becomes a major issue. HMR offers a reasonable size for these things.
  13. I'd take either of them home with me. If I'm forced to pick, I'll go with the Aoshima even though I prefer the Toynami green.
  14. So based on this discussion (assuming I haven't missed anything) part of the issue stems from "for what country are you translating for" because military tradition, structure, and ranks vary from country to country. Another part is that we are not 100% sure if military tradition, structure, and ranks is consistent between Macross shows. There are many fans of many franchises that, over time, become far more knowledgeable about said franchise than the creators themselves. I would imagine that creators move on to other projects once one is complete and cannot immerse themselves in it like their fans. I isn't a matter of what it should be, but what it is.

I've never had one that felt like this. I haven't had the time to try anything on it yet.

I still think that Bandai will release the Phalanx first in order to maximize the reaping of our wallets. Tomahawk will follow some time after followed my TWE blue Phalanx(s).
  17. I brought back a 2002 Chunky VF-1A brownie that I picked up from the Mandarake Complex on my last trip. TSA didn't open my luggage and Customs didn't ask to open/see anything. The only time I had any issues was when I tried to bring in Jerky that I purchased from 7-Eleven/Lawson/Family Mart. They took it all away because it wasn't cooked, just dried. Because Mad Cow they said. My main concern was box crushing during the plane ride. You don't know how many suitcases will end up on top of yours during the plane ride. You can always consider mailing it back to yourself as a last resort. I'm sure that the others will have more experience with this. Just for reference. My friend did bring back like 23 or so bottles of alcohol (mostly whiskey) back from Japan. I think he paid less than $100 (might have been $35) in import duties.

I haven't taken out my Regult in a while, but I believe that it should come with a display stand. The Destroids are what initially got me started with HMR. Got my Monster on a sale and after handling it, I was hooked.
  19. Maybe re-issues starting mid 2021?

The stand that is most commonly included with Hi-Metal R toys is the TAMASHII STAGE ACT.5 for Mechanics. Three stands are included in this set. It may have been reduced to two on later releases. Check before you buy. Other options include TAMASHII STAGE ACT TRIDENT clear or TAMASHII STAGE ACT TRIDENT PLUS (clear). Also consider Tamashii Effect Explosion. I've seen them listed as "Red", "Grey", "Pink" or "Brown". Beware of inflated prices!

It is as far as my other VF-1s go. I've never seen it not swing all the way forward for that slamming on the brakes look. But it doesn't always swing all the way back for the iconic Gerwalk look. Both feet should have the same range of motion. I've had one or two that were stiff, but you can feel it move. For those, I was able to massage it slowly to the full back position. For the VT-1 and the Hikaru VF-1A, they will not budge past the upright Battroid standing position. I get reminded of what happened to Jenius's HMR VF-1S shoulder joint and I get worried.

I wonder if this can be traced down to a single bad foot mold. I imagine that they pour many feet at once. So maybe you get 20 in a pour and yield 19 good feet and 1 bad one.

Interestingly, I also have a VT-1 and a VF-1A Hikaru with the same leg issue. I feels like it will snap off if you force it. But I can work around that issue.
