The computer and electronics super geek thread

At least it's not a $500 mark up. . . Yet . . . -
I don't fully remember off the top of my head, but was DVD NTSC? And there were some color issues whem playing back NTSC video on LCD based tv/monitors. This could contribute to inaccurate colors.

Covid vaccination has begin in Japan. Hopefully normal international mail will restart in the next 2 or 3 months.

No Robotech branding, but it is briefly mentioned on the back of the box. I agree that it appears to be intentional.

What Current Anime Are You Watching Version v4.0

I loved Katanagatari. I watched it as it aired. Imagine watching that show 1 episode a month for a year. -
I took a gamble with EMS. It looks like I lost. No shipping notice from CDJapan. Nothing to do but wait until international shipping resumes. Because I don't want to may much more for shipping. I can wait.

I got an email from CDJapan today. They said that the regular release is currently delayed to January. I guess we'll see if that remains true.

If you were a crew chief in the Macross universe.......
DewPoint replied to cheemingwan1234's topic in Movies and TV Series
This probably should be in the short questions therad, but aside from the usual "massive energy needs," why haven't we seen the ues of gravity type propulsion? Is it just that flames shooting out the rear just visually cooler? -

Yeah, lots of engineers and designers do not give enough though to access for maintenance. It is getting better, but it depends on the item. You may have awesome product, but it takes way too long to turn around it really does you no good. If 60% of the fleet is in various stages of maintenance, you only have 40% of your fleet available and lots of maintenance staff tied up. So this is a bit morbid, but I recently watched a documentary where they interviewed people that worked salvage and repair of WW2 Sherman Tanks. They have high rates of PTSD. You don't think about having to remove the bodies and body parts and clean out the tank to rebuild or strip for parts. Thus I will crew chief whatever Ghost fighter/drone of the current era. I have a extremely difficult time unseeing things. I will dislike being the crew chief on any mainline fighter. -
Well, I've never been a fan of doom and gloom, but I really hope that Bandai is really just trying to get Macross fans to spend money on their DX line. I really don't know if the non-Macross HMR products sell better, worse or just as well. Only time will tell if Bandai returns to HMR Macross. I can't see any reason for them not to. To me, HMR is the more fun to handle and playable line.

So some time later we will get Hi-Metal Double R or Hi-Metal S?

I've watched the original Japanese version of it. My curiosity got the better of me. I've not tried to see what Robotech has done to that. It really wants to be Flashback 2021, but it is clearly not. I didn't care for it for whatever reason.

I'm just curious and its always good to know for future reference. Since sqidd has already applied CA glue to the break, does he need to completely remove the CA glue before applying a new glue?

No joke. We'll see how far season 2 takes us whenever it finally airs. -
If you want to go the vintage clip-on route UN_MARINE had a project he started back in February. I'm not sure how far he got with it.

I got the same email from CDJapan. But when I try to change the shipping option for my Legioss Eta, I only get options for DHL and FedEx Priority for over $60.00 USD. Non-Registered Airmail is nowhere to be seen.

I re-watched Made in Abyss in preparation to watching the movie. Its been three years, I vaguely remember things. I haven't started watching anything new this season other than Mahouka. I'm kinda waiting for the initial impressions before diving in. -
In 2017 I paid $10.53 for the 3 pack from Amazon. In 2019 I paid $9.99 for the 2 pack from Amazon. I haven't been able to find the Trident stand for a decent price yet, but I haven't been looking lately. Prices in Amazon can vary wildly, Keep an eye on it and you may be able to save a bit. Keepa is a good site to check current and historical prices on Amazon.com items.

Holy crap! I just googled Space Gan Dam and it turned up "Space Gundam V" as a real show that aired in South Korea. I'm not sure if I want to hunt this down.
