  1. There is a bibliography in the old compendium, however it is not fully listed. I suspect a comprehensive list exists, where it is, I have no idea.... Now if some desire a star trekian line by line bibliography then that may be another matter since the old site was not designed like a wikipedia. To be fair, those who wish such a comprehensive cross referencing, may need to take it upon themselves to do so for the wiki page. Maybe all that is required is for a request to be made as to which "book" or "publication" an item came from. The credibility of the old site has been supported by the "old guard" on this site for years. Maybe they need to pipe in and explain why they feel it was the best canon source of Macross for English fans.
  2. The "S" versions have evolved (or maybe have always been) the command type. The VF-25S is the first I can recall where it is mentioned that part of its equipment is a tactical computer and communications package for team coordination.
  3. Ummm, yeah it is kinda suspiciously familiar isn't it?... Well we'll know for sure if Bandai contacts Marchycrayola for the hires versions of his colored Valks for larger poster art...
  4. Unfortunately the RT fanboys would goop themselves over the prospect of having this manga series in Robowreck speak...
  5. Well from a manufacturing point of view, all that is required is a new nose a, different wings and verticle stabilizers from the VF-25 toy and you're done... Although how the wings would fold may be interesting...
  6. You did? Well I guess I was so high on my soapbox, that I didn't realize...
  7. Kawamori only writes episode outlines and has written few scripts (Macross Plus, Cowboy Bebop and his Genius Party contribution, I can't recall any more off hand...). As for Frontier all scripts still were funneled through him for final approval, with the exception of the Sheryl arc, which was trusted to an old friend who wrote it (the best part of the series character stories IMO).
  8. I tend to avoid Deitrich, so that doesn't apply. You realize that you're supporting my assertion. Vernier thrusters are great "in space" not nearly as effective in an atmosphere. Canards offer extra control surfaces in an atmosphere and are really not effective in space. At no point did I say the F & S could not fly in an atmosphere, only that they flew best in space as that is how their systems & designs have been optimized. Similarly the "A"s flew best in an atmosphere as that is how their systems & designs have been optimized. Optimization does not mean environmental exclusivity.
  9. OK, that isn't definitive proof that the Macross contains the seat of government. It's like saying that the tomb of the unknown soldier is the headquarters of government because politicians are gathered there on memorial day or the Pentagon, because they are sighted there as well. Naturally politicians would be on stage at the commemoration of the end of SW1, that doesn't mean they meet inside the Macross. As a HQ for the military, it would make sense. I am doubtful of that. The Grand Cannon was nearly a mile deep (?). The lake Macross sits in, I believe, is a crater left over from the bombardment.
  10. I wouldn't say it was the UNG headquarters, but rather UN Spacy's HQ on Earth. We saw no politicians aboard her, during Plus.
  11. I think the "next issue" was to cover Macross Zero and other shows.
  12. Unless the Vajra disrupt your electronics and you have to manually glide to a safe landing spot. Then they become a little less stylistic...
  13. With respect to the VF-24. It is entirely possible that smaller fleets such as ones with SDFN Macross Class ships may have production capabilities, but may not have R&D facilities to customize their fighters, thus would only be able to produce VF-24's as per downloaded specs. Bigger fleets like the NMC fleets are better capable of fighter customization.
  14. Co-directed if I recall correctly. He directed the dogfight sequences in the series as well as DYRL.
  15. He maybe not, but one of his staff might be...
  16. Not necessarily. I would suspect that Kawamori may have done some research into the matter of how g forces would affect airframes and found out that there are limits. If the latest greatest fighter is subject to the affects of physics, all its predecessors would be also. There is no reason to believe the VF-25 has been built with less effective materials than the VF-19... Kawamori does retcon, fortunately he minimizes it (or his staff points it out to him )...
  17. We don't know if no VF-24's exist or will exist... yet. A non-modified YF-24 put into production essentially becomes a VF-24, much like the YF-19 became the VF-19 since no substantial changes were made between the test and production models. The YF-21 became the VF-22 because many of the bleeding edge technologies of the YF were never given to the VF-22. The VF-25 & 27 saw many improvements and design changes over the YF-24, thus earned new designations. Consider how long a Zentreadi lives and then couple that with running a business for an extended amount of time. I get the impression that Briler was part of Vritai's fleet and personally witnessed Minmay in action. Now consider him running a business for 50 years. Humans would have retired after maybe 30 years, but Briler is still going strong and clearly has the acumen to make money in the post SW1 era of expansion. Mega projects like the emigration project, colonization & galalctic defence are prime opportunities for someone who knows how to make a buck. I doubt Briler is the only trillionare in the Macross universe, only the first we've met.
  18. Also keep in mind that when immigrants come to a new land they always either congregate with those of their home culture or set up places where they could enjoy their heritage. This is a rather human trait that is perpetuated in Macross. As for multi-stellar corporations, it makes sense to me. Any government would have finite resources to take on the task the size of the emigration project and large corporations would see it as an opportunity to "sponsor" fleets to further their own adgendas. Galaxy is an extreme example of this, being run like a mobile corporate headquarters as opposed to a democratic republic. One thing that I like is that the colonies had evolved into city-states, falling under the umbrella of the NUNG confederation, yet remaining independent nations.
  19. Here's the link. http://www.akiba-station.com/blog/?p=3308 I haven't seen the second part of the interview yet...
  20. Not sure if this was posted before, it didn't come up in my search. Granted this is a translation from Otona Anime Mag#9 from December 2008 posted at the Akiba Station website, but it does give some insights into the universe from the man himself..,
  21. Love this one, except for the GERWALK on the right hand side, seems unnecessary to me and kinda takes away from the illusion of the VF-0's landing. You wouldn't happen to have a version at hi res without the GERWALK would you?
  22. Well the Vajra are an inter/extra galactic species. We saw in MF that when it is mating season, Vajra from other galalxies converge. The PD are from SD space or the SD environment. They are apparently incorporeal beings capable of "possessing" sentient life.
