Well she's getting into producing now, something she really should have been doing a long time ago.

Just picked up the second edition (missed the first - BOOOO ) and am LOVING IT! I don't care about knowing the dialog at the moment since I know the story so well. FINALLY someone actually showing the true scale of the Regult and Glaug! I'm loving Mikimoto's version of the story. The little changes from the anime are very refreshing. Minmay portrayed as the innocent tease she's always been described as, is so much fun. The Zentradi are so much more menacing in this Manga than the anime ever portrayed them. Very much a DYRL vibe there. I find it amusing that there is only 90 pgs of actual story and the rest of the 300pgs are ads, interviews and the like for the latest Macross incarnation. I actually prefer the new head on the VF-1D and the subtle changes, like the UNSpacy flight suits and the helmets for the pilots. I didn't know what to expect from this book, but I can say I am very pleasantly surprised. Now to do the impossible! Tracking down a copy of volume 1 !!!!

Need help with meshing CG valk to real world pictures
Zinjo replied to Thai Boxer 9901's topic in Fan Works
Are those the actual resolutions you plan to work with? If so, it will be challenging. The higher the resolution the easier it would be, since you will be able to shrink it down to a managable size later while still retaining the detail levels. Also, work in Tiff or BMP format, not JPG. Tiff/BMP is lossless and any changes you make will still have the full resolution of the image, however the files will be large, so expect it. You can save it as a JPG when you are finished to reduce the final file size. -
Bandai 1/72 Scale Macross Frontier Model Kit Thread Ver.3
Zinjo replied to azrael's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
Well Bandai is fighting Hasegawa's fire with fire... VF-25F New Ranka decals http://www.toynetjapan.com/en/items/view/24627 & The VF-25G New Klan Decals http://www.toynetjapan.com/en/items/view/24628 The Armor Pack Deculture decals were meant to be give aways at hobby shops, but are fairly rare since not enough were made for the demand and some shops apparently opted to not give them out to be fair to all their customers who wanted them. I suspect these two new VF-25 "Itashi" kits are a pilot project for Bandai to gauge the demand. There are still another 4 sets that were displayed at the Hobby show earlier this year that haven't been marketed yet. I think they learned from the Hobbypro clear VF-25 kits that sometimes limited editions are far more popular than they ever anticipated. Hasegawa milked their VF-1 molds for years by simply releasing the same kits with new decal sheets (the upcoming Minmay release is just another one of many). Now they'll have to come up with some new stuff to compete. The 1/48 scale is a great start, but I think a little love for the VF-4 and VF-11 fighters might be in order as well... -
Yeah the name is pretty cool. Very much in keeping with the Messiah theme...

My money would be on a flashback scene with Ozma test flying the YF-25.

Very impressive!!

Trans 2 is generally a rehash of 1. The characters barely grew, the robots got bigger and more ridiculous as did the situations. Bay is totally out of touch with the world outside his front door. How else could he think that the US military conducting ANY operation on Chinese soil is a reasonable or remotely realistic plot point.... We've seen the competing fighter jock story and it was great. What's left? Same story, different fighters? Far too myopic a view of the vast universe that Studio Nue created for Macross. We've identified through various media at least 12 colony worlds as of 2040 and there were more being colonized every year. Then there's the inter-world conflicts that are bound to spring up, PC legacy stories, untold stories from previous eras, etc... Let's not limit ourselves to rehashing an already great show. Let's move on. Kawamori probably won't be able to sell a non-music Macross series, but he seems to be moving away from that in the OVAs.

Pfft! If we get invaded, Graham will hand out the gunpods and they'll be toast!
-
Beautiful work, unfortunately the Regults are on the small side for the scale.
-
With all due respect, I'd rather not see "Transformers 2" in the Macross universe...
-
Umm, I hope you are kidding...

I wouldn't mind seeing them again if BigWest decided to do SDFM again based on Mikimoto's manga. It would offer them the opportunity to clean up a few of the story threads that were initially rushed and clearly differentiate the anime from the Tatsunoko animation. Otherwise, I'd like to see stories taking place among the Galaxy Network worlds. What was the Delta War"? Cross genre OVAs or series'. The discovery of the PD by the Megaroad 13 would make a great scary show, if handled correctly. The universe is so vast, limiting the stories to space operas with kick ass music will eventually stagnate the franchise.

Hey, when an intermittent show like Macross hits, then everyone involved milks the property until its dry, since no one really knows when the next production will be... Unlike Gundam where you are nearly guaranteed a new series every two years...
-
Nice to see Mari, getting into the production side of the business. She's been producing her own albums for years now...
-
Very sexy work! I noticed some touch up paint is needed here and there though. I do like the result. Hard to say whether Bandai will keep producing the VF-25s long enough to release a cannon fodder version...
-
Yawn... Wake me when Tomashi Nations makes one, then I'll be stoked!
-
Wow super detailing fighter otaku are gonna goop over these!!! I can't wait to see some of the projects show up in the FineScale Modeler gallery sections....
-
Have you seen their Q-Rhea? Very sexay....
-
I wasn't so sure about the VF-19Kai, but with that metallic paint job it really makes the figure!
-
That's probably the case, since they did a re-design of the VF-25F to accomodate the Fast Packs and the Armor Pack additions. Vers 2.0. If you want the bare bones VF-25F, Hobby Link has them on sale right now 50% off....

You are a fan of the SC??? All it got from me was a respectful nod that HG is finally "producing" something as opposed to raping and pillaging... Anyway, I must agree, that for her to be a part of the Robowreck universe she will need comic book proportions... Otherwise EXCELLENT ANIME GIRL!!!

Ahhh, OK... It makes sense now. The Fairy wing, etc...

Wow!! That would be a brutal decison to choose between them! I do find it amusing HG ripped off the color scheme for the 25th Anni Valk....
