  1. No they don't. They own distribution rights to the SDFM animation and subsequent merchandizing rights to said animation. All the Macross mecha, characters and story belong to the rightful Intellectual Property rights owner, Big West and Studio Nue. Seto covers the issue in depth on an RT forum: http://www.robotechx.com/forums/51-canon-f...oss-rights.html The MW thread on the same subject is here: http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=153 Don't be fooled by misleading statements made by RT fans or HG staff...
  2. I agree with Sketchley on this one. The only stellar naval force that could make use of destroids are the UN Marines, since they'd incorporate air and ground forces. Colony worlds probably possess them for ground defence in their army and marine units. Though, I have no doubt they've evolved into vehicles with much more well rounded primary and secondary weaponry as opposed to the SDFM era destroids which seemed to fall into various specialized categories. Macross the First shows a better mix of ground force weaponry as opposed to the show.
  3. Very Cool! Interesting how he was fixated on a stealth looking VF-27 until he switched it to more of a SV-51 style...
  4. Quite the honor for Kim if one really thinks about it...
  5. Kawamori said it in an interview posted on these boards. I'm not 100% sure he used the term "backlash", but there was some reference about negativity toward Mac7. Unfortunately the translator (can't recall the member) didn't elaborate on the context of the comment.
  6. I wonder what the backlash was for M7 in Japan? If it isn't that popular outside of the music, that may explain the speedy coverage...
  7. A one of my favorite MII concepts, the AGA-1JF Gerwalk mode mecha.
  8. That was what a couple of bookstore owners were telling me as well. In their catalogs the issue count doesn't go past 50. However they wouldn't commit to the idea that it would end there.
  9. There's already a custom in Hobby Japan 10. The Test 3 version of the YF-25.
  10. In Hobby Japan 10 there is a custom YF-25 build up called the "Phase 3 Test" version with a modified nose cone and a few different details. It's not official of course, but definitely interesting...
  11. Nice scans. A quick tip on scanning magazine pages that I've picked up over the past few year. Get some black paper and put it behind the page to be scanned during the scan process. The black paper tends to absorb the printing on the other side of the page and reduce or prevent any printing bleed through on to the scan side. Scan to a "TIFF" file to retain the detail and then convert to a JPG later with Photoshop or another graphics program. I also use is ACDSee which comes with a built in format converter for image files. Though I tend to scan at 600dpi for maximum detail and then reduce the resolution and size in tiff format after the scan and before converting it to jpg to compress the file size. Web resolutions are between 72 - 120 dpi, the higher the resolution the more detail comes out. I do it this way now and it works like a charm!! Something to consider in future.
  12. Try these threads for some gorgeous CG work!! http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=19316 http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?...c=16101&hl= http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?...73&hl=sdf-1 http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?...24&hl=sdf-1 http://www.jasonlewisart.com/Files/CG_Gallery_A.html Some of these will blow your mind...
  13. The VF-0D would be sweet, and the VF-2SS is something Bandai would most likely make (since they owns the rights to it), so I could toss out the VF-17 to kiss up to Graham ( ), but my vote went for the VF-4. The battroid is FUGLY, but its one fighter that way overdue for some lovin'! If Yammie needs an idea, they should go wth the VF-4, since it'll get a lot of old school and RT fans' buying them.
  14. It really doesn't matter which ship is the mothership, so long as it is able to move around. Cataclysm had a mothership that could move quite freely, whereas HW2's mothership could move but extremely slowly...
  15. For all we know an intent to implement a similar fold network in the Stellar Republic may have been what started the PC civil war... One side saw it as a benefit to the over extended republic while the other saw it as a tool for potential abuses and eventual slavery. Most civil wars are fought over ideologies, not because one side is evil and the other is not.
  16. Ishtar was one well written character, which is why I believe she really shone in the show. The rest were rather lacking in one aspect or another.
  17. I think its a matter of focus really. The Mac II producers chose to focus on the Earth, its reconstruction and the continued threat posed by the Zentradi fleets, while the Nue continuity focused more on a macro view of the universe, with new species, new federal problems for the UNG and the like. As far as we know the Zentradi are still a continuous threat, particularly to emigration fleets, however the focus of the shows are not on the Zentradi threats as much as they are on NEW threats and issues encountered. In Mac II Zentradi fleets manage to find the Earth at least twice, whereas in the Nue continuity the Earth really isn't on the Zentradi radar considering the size of the galaxy and their own war with the SA.
  18. Yes, you'd have to retcon the Mac II story to include it into the Nue continuity. However, I don't have any issues with a retcon and the original co-existing since one takes its story from the old continuity pre-Macross Plus and a new one would be shoe horned into the Nue continuity. Both would be viable stories in their respective universes...
  19. Actually culturally, Mao was a viable love interest for Shin, in Japanese culture, not Western culture. Well if one retcons Mac II into a stranded colony fleet, extended martial law would be a possible outcome of such an event.
  20. Hmmm, so much of that sounds SO familiar....

    VF Girls

I believe that's a fan pic from Pixiv. I know I've seen it before...
  22. If you can upload pictures as wallpaper to your phone and they are the correct resolution, I don't see why not...
