  1. A couple of more VF-24 wallpapers for your enjoyment. I do love working with these renders! HD Version: 1280x1024 Version:
  2. Preaching to the Choir brother, preaching to the choir....
  3. Depends when it was first posted. It may have become buried over time by more active threads. Have you done a search for it?
  4. Two things I find truly outstanding about this work. 1. You nailed the sunset glow underneath the macross! Not an easy thing and too often over looked by artists 2. The people in the foreground really bring out the illusion of reality. I have a few projects in the pipeline with the same idea. The only thing missing is the shadows on the water...
  5. Do you have that beautiful work in higher resolutions? Wow
  6. As per akt_m's mandate another VF-24 wallpaper set: VF-24 render by AKT_M ! HD Version: 1280 x1024 Version: Enjoy
  7. I've heard stories about this guy but to actually read his rants? WOW!! Electronic masturbation on a website is sad in most cases, but this guy loves to see his own posts!! Well I'm happy hanging out on a forum that respects all fan bases and isn't in the business of bashing other folks altars. Though if your altar is Harmony Gold, then all bets are off, since they started the fight in the first place...
  8. One thing Macross Zero demonstrated was the offensive capabilities of the head guns. They can pop out of the fuselage (in many cases) and be used like a turret. Unfortunately it isn't used as often as I'd like in the shows... As for dog fighting, there are many ways to get behind your opponent-air speed, bank turns, rolls, etc... In space, dog fighting is very different. I think on BSG we got to see for the first time what actual zero-g dog fighting would be like.
  9. An addition to Seto's comments regarding Macross 7: The Varauta Army in M7 were made up of military and civilian personnel from the Megaroad 13 emigration fleet that first encountered the imprisoned PD and were thus taken over. Even though no reason is given anywhere, there has been much speculation and debate on these boards as to why the PD did not try to contact their old Army once they awoke.
  10. I suspect they'll play the Galaxy angle as the fleet was destroyed and the Battle Galaxy became infested with Vajra, turning it into what we've seen already published... Well SDFM buzz lasted for what 5+ years? Mac 7 about the same? So this prolly won't cool for at least a couple more years...
  11. Hmm, finally figured out what was missing. The 4th fighter! I'll have to fix that...
  12. A new composition of a familiar wallpaper: Fixed the aspect ratio on the VF-24 models and added the VF-171 flights in the background. Again art credits go to Ren and akt_m! HD Version: 1280x1024 Version: I'll keep plugging away on the VF-24 renders so graciously provided by akt_m..
  13. Maneuverability is less about speed and more about agility. The Tornado has the advantage in one respect, that being the VTOL engines and their ability to change the direction of the vectored thrust on what appears to be a full 360 degree axis. Is the VF-25 Tornado a heavier jet? Yes. Slower than a YF-29? During certain maneuvers, I'm sure. More maneuverable than the YF-29? Probably, but at the cost of speed.
  14. Nope, that's another bit of technology with held from colony fleets... I'm holding out for a re-animation of SDFM based on Mikimoto's story...
  15. We know why. Those who would lovingly translate the books for the fans, also live by the rule that no translation will be made that could jeopardize the sales of the Japanese publication. It's the double edged sword that we live by. It's the extension of no scans of a book actively being published and sold by Big West license holders.
  16. Snap! You're right! I thought it looked familiar... Still, it does look better than the Macross YF-29!!
  17. A few more: Art by Donfig! High Def Wallpapers: 1280x1024 Wallpapers: I"m still working on the VF-24s...
  18. I still prefer the first YF-29 design we saw...
  19. From a merchandizing point of view it is very smart product idea and hopefully a harbinger of future releases of non-hero Valkyries in the Bandai stable. A simple assembly model kit that is cheap to make, small in size for collectability, lower in production cost = higher profit potential compared to the VF100 & VF HiMetal lines, and direct competition to Wave's line of VF-1 kits... As fans and consumers of Macross goods, we may want to encourage Bandai, in any way we can, to continue with this line and expand it to include things like VF-4, VF-2-SS, VF-171, VF-27 etc... This might be the vehicle by which we will finally see mass produced collector's kits of the Valks we love, that have not seen much love in the toy/kit market in previous years...
  20. Hmm, looks like the Battle Galaxy HAS been infested by the Vajra... Alto, you DOG!! Klan can never catch a break!!
  21. I am hopeful that Bandai will try to compete with Wave in this scale, since it appears Wave is doing rather well with its 1/100 classic VF-1 fighter line. I said it before that there is a market for 1/100 scale display models/toys. They take up less room and with a good sculpt can look amazing in any collection... The advantage Bandai has is that it owns more VF designs than any other sponsor and is positioned to dominate the market if they see fit to...
  22. Not a fan. Reminds me of a kit bashed VF-25/VF-27/VF-19... I realize Kawamori is obligated to provide more merch for Bandai to sell, but dude...REALLY??!! How about the enigmatic VF-24? Put delta wings on a VF-25, tadda!! New fighter to sell on the cheap...
