In writing those characters have a name, "Pointless!"... Without personal conflict there is no growth. I have to agree that if Basara started out as an angry musician who learned inner peace through his music and by extension influenced the PD to do the same, that would be growth. Static characters, much like static events are boring and a waste of money to put them on screen. At best Basara was a catalyst for the development of both Mylene and Gamalin as characters, but such a person is NEVER the star, but a supporting influence in the story. MOST people don't want to watch the same character week after week NOT CHANGE or GROW! Take Basara out of the featured protagonist role and he becomes an acceptable part of the whole journey. Put him front and center and he is a distraction to the tale. I've said it many times and I still hold to it, that M7 was a one season show, shoe horned into to two seasons. The bulk of the story meat is contained in only half the episodes, the remainder of the episodes were merchandizing commercials for the music and toy industries.

It is neither, it is just that I've determined to limit the amount of screenshot wallpapers to a few while the BD and DVDs are still being sold.. Since I haven't done any yet, these would fall into "that few"...

NM, I should read closer before replying ... Keep in mind I won't do too many of these. The home video is still being sold and I don't want to undermine that in anyway...

Taking an old wallpaper and adding Polidreads amazing 30th anniversary logo, I've put together an update to the Evolution wallpaper: HD Resolution: 1280x1024: Enjoy

I would personally pay for THAT reboot with my own money.. Though I would be the first to say Basara is not a real character, but more a force of nature akin to a plot device that other character's grow "around". He really doesn't fit any common measure of a lead character because there is zero personal growth. He is also a very provocative character, that is evident by the passionate opposition or support of the character every time he is brought up around here...

I think a few have found the key to vajra communication. They "feel" and communicate through emotions not words (in the movie anyway). Hence why song has such a strong affect on them. Singing is an emotional activity. It is easy for the Vajra to destinquish between a sentient being and a machine, one has emotions while the other does not. As for Alto abandoning his fighter, I only have one question - "Did he not remember what happened to Gilliam?!" . I particulalry liked seeing the LAI fast packs used on the Dyson's VF-19C. Finally fast packs for that fighter that didn't look stupid! Though despite the fanservice aspect of seeing the vintage painted VF-19, I figured Dyson would be flying a VF-24 instead. After all it is the latest generation of variable fighter and I'd expect a former test pilot to be eager to handle the bleeding edge of NUNS aircraft technology... -

Hero armor... Didn't we cover this already... Though I was getting tired of the GI Joe rescues all over the place. It is unusual when the series is more lethal to characters than the movies.... You'll have to watch it and see... You won't need subs to find out either... -
Hasegawa has a gold mine with these kits I'm surprised they aren't exploiting them more...

Interesting. I am curious as to how you will make it transform with those big pipes in the back...

One of the reasons why I like Zero is that it is so politically muddy. Modern politics is never black and white. One mans rebel is another man's liberator. I think they dropped the ball with giving the appearance that Isreal joined the AUN, even covertly. A fairly rookie mistake when one considers world politics. I can see members like China, Russia, Arab states, even Germany joining for various self serving reasons, but not Israel. I find that era to be very facinating. How does one cobble together a cohesive world government with so many divergent interests pulling things apart? I still find it hard to accept that the Mayan Island incident was the final breath of the AUN movement, particularly with the deployment of the SV-51 and the Octos! That struck me more as a beginning of an escalation not an end.

We can speculate if the PC had a religion or were merely agnostics. We simply don't know. We could also speculate the Fish Human was actually a Dolphin and not the ape as Darwinians believe... Fold quartz could have been a common component in all Zentradi cap ships, they wouldn't know what it was for. Since humanity likes to tinker with things, it didn't see any use for fold quartz so they might have removed it in subsequent upgrades to fold engines thus creating the limitations of Fold Faults inadvertently. Prior to MF, fold faults were never mentioned.

One thing I truly appreciate is that the Limited Edition "Wings of Goodbye" set has a place holder box the perfect size for the LE set of "False Diva" BD!! Essentially the case was designed for those of us who had to have the special editions of both films... -

Well Kawamori finally hit on the device to allow for legitimately customized Valks, a PMC. -
I am so going to be all over that! I loves the VF-11D, My Precious!

It could be an appeal to WB to buy the Macross international rights outright or simply an Animation Director at Satelite looking for new business opportunities for his studio... I find it more noteable that "another" squadron is shown other than the Skulls for a change! -

Essentially, he uses the analogy of WW2 movies. All World War 2 movies are fictitious dramatizations of a real event. What I take from that is that the primary events of the SDFM series are Macross historical facts (the crash, boobytrap that starts the war, Zentradi attack, etc...) however all the characters and/or minor events may or may not be real people or events from the war. One can take it one step further and suggest that the characters and events may be real, but not necessarily exactly as presented... We fans are the ones who white knuckle on to things like they were gospel canon, Kawamori san doesn't limit himself like that. Hence the big debate during the Frontier series of how the Global was somehow a TARDIS capable of traveling thousands of light years in minutes to appear on Galia 4, instead of the obvious explanation that the Macross Warship class continued to be build by humanity until the New Macross Carrier replaced it. -
Well I turned it into a SA Gunship, it was originally envisioned to be a Zentradi inspired SDF-4 from RT. We really don't know what the SA capital ships look like, since the Macross is a rebuilt gunship, resembling its original design. What we do know is that the SA is comprised of PC and Zentradi ships from the Civil war era of the the PC Republic. So when I saw this render, I was immediately inspired. The actual render only has a single engine. I composited the second one for the picture. the artist is considering adding a second engine to the render, but is currently working on DYRL SDF-1 model... I'll dig up the different views image file I have. My take on it is simply "What would a fleet of SA ships look like passing through a star system?" The mecha would be similar to the Zentradi (well the giant's mecha anyway) so I tried to stick to that idea.
-
My Latest. Unfortunately with all the is going on in the image I could only make it in HD resolution. Using a render from an amazing CG artist on Deviant Art known as East Coast Canuck of what he called an SDF-4 and using mecha made by akt_m I cobbelled together a scene of a Supervision Army fleet transiting through a system with ECC's render as the tri-hulled gunship. It is in 1920x1080 resolution: Enjoy!

I went with CDJapan since Amazon.jp is sold out. I didn't realize I had left over points, so it saved me about $5.00 off my final bill... I though about SAL, but for an extra 1000 yen you can get it overnight via FedEx, so why wait weeks and weeks? I went with FedEx... -

OK, I'm confused. Why is the outer box art for the Amazon.jp set different from the Cd Japan set? http://www.amazon.co.jp/%E5%8A%87%E5%A0%B4%E7%89%88%E3%83%9E%E3%82%AF%E3%83%AD%E3%82%B9F-~%E3%82%B5%E3%83%A8%E3%83%8A%E3%83%A9%E3%83%8E%E3%83%84%E3%83%90%E3%82%B5~-Blu-ray-%E8%B6%85%E6%99%82%E7%A9%BA%E3%82%B9%E3%83%9A%E3%82%B7%E3%83%A3%E3%83%AB%E3%82%A8%E3%83%87%E3%82%A3%E3%82%B7%E3%83%A7%E3%83%B3-PS3%E5%B0%82%E7%94%A8%E3%82%BD%E3%83%95%E3%83%88%E5%8F%8E%E9%8C%B2/dp/B005DVVWDK/ref=pd_sim_m10 http://www.cdjapan.co.jp/detailview.html?KEY=BLJS-93004 Anyone know?
