I'd love to see both to be sure! I think Valk Cockpits don't get enough luvin by CG artists anyway. They are very detailed and to many artists far less sexy than the many many valk models in cyberspace. I see them as the most challenging of all the projects one can take on in CG...

Are there any plans to do a VF-11D version (may fav... ). That would be soo damn cool. I am loving your work! I don't know why by I get so jazzed when I see some outstanding CG work on unloved Valk designs (VF-9 excluded.. )... Thanks for sharing

OK, how about you appease us with more shots of that amazing animation. The higher res the better...

Yes and no. I can watch Mac Zero and enjoy the pretty pretty images on the screen, but I certainly appreciate what is going on more, when the dialogue is translated. Film, like Manga (Comics) is a visual medium and as dialogue moves the story of a film along, so too does the dialogue and narration move the story of a Manga along. That being said, I am also not willing to see scanlations published online while a manga is actively in print. That only serves to undermine the value of the property and could make it "unprofitable" to continue...

I guess only the mod team or members who are willing to upload it have it now. It is for the best, Rapidshare has become total crap over the last couple of years...

Without total ownership of what Tatsunoko and HG currently have, WB can't move forward on any Macross property. BW won't work with either of the aforementioned companies, so it is up to WB to clear that road block first. Once they have sole ownership of all outstanding Macross rights internationaly , they can approach BW about buying live action rights to the property. I doubt Big West would have many objections, especially if they can broker a deal for international distribution of Macross productions through WB.

Trying to get EA Games to consider a Robotech/macross first/third pers
Zinjo replied to llPREDATORll's topic in Games
Any 3rd person shoot with transforming fighters is never easy to make or play. A simulator might be easier to make and play, like Wing Commander of Free Space. If the game is an online only multiplayer I would give it maybe two days before either HG or BW send a C&D letter to the site owner or the ISP. Having a downloadable version with private server connectability is the only way to ensure it will last any meaningful length of time. My money is on the HW mod personally, though I could also support a flight sim as well... -
Very Sexy! You have that in a higher resolution?

Stunning Work!! Can't wait to see more!

That would be a cool addition! The F/A-18 not only replaced the Fighter compliment on CVS' but also their Attack craft as well with it multi-function. On Emigration fleets with limited resources, a similar extension of a new generation VF's duties would be equally reasonable.

Shoji Kawamori "created" Macross: load of bull?
Zinjo replied to danth's topic in Movies and TV Series
Kawamori was the reluctant one. He was finished with Macross but was drawn back in with the promise of funding for his script, which started out as a non-macross story of two pilots but was greenlit as a Macross property. Gubaba feel free to confirm what most of us already know... -
That and the Armored parts. Such a missed opportunity to use these in the Bye Bye Mars episode...

One thing I've always wanted was a line of helmets from SDFM all in a row. There were 6. Red on White - Hikaru Gold on White - Roy Blue on White - Max Green on White - Kakizaki White on Blue - Max (married) White on Red - Millia I was so disappointed the CSM Corp stopped making the Macross figures. They could have continued with the cut away cockpit sets and even sets of helmet styles from the various series'. Outstanding CG helmets though...

Anime magic... CG is much less forgiving, which is why the VF-171 looks so much thinner than the VF-17. They are supposed to be the same airframe with the 171 only having a longer nose.

Shoji Kawamori "created" Macross: load of bull?
Zinjo replied to danth's topic in Movies and TV Series
That has never been at issue. Miyatake designed most of the non-transforming mecha, including the Macross and capital ships. Kawamori is one of the team who created the series and including Miyatake and Mikimoto was one of the few to return to the franchise (granted kicking and screaming at first) post SDFM. -
Macross Frontier Movie 2 thread - Now available on Blu-ray/DVD
Zinjo replied to Tochiro's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
True, the UNG has become essentially the modern United Nations with a NATO like attached military. A federation of sorts with little influence in territories not under its direct control. If you take it one step further you have to include the sense that the only way to have individualized VF's is for the heroes to be in a PMC. All post SDFM shows favored the generic paint schemes of the military. M7 side stepped the convention (among many other side steps...) by having the hero characters in SOCOM teams, thus providing an excuse for the unconventional paint schemes. However, the fighters were painted the same within said teams to continue the sense of military convention. Even the Jamming Birds followed the paint scheme convention. The only exception was Fire Bomber who were a civilian group. -
Banshee's First Impressions of Macross 7!
Zinjo replied to VF-15 Banshee's topic in Movies and TV Series
If I remember my M7 lore correctly, The PD were energy creatures inhabiting Super Dimension Space and due to an accident while testing the EVIL Series SD organs (the PD's name before possession) the PD were drawn into our dimension and subsequently possessed the new bio weapons. Makes a person wonder what happened to the personalities and life force of the original EVIL creatures? Were they ultimately consumed by the voracious PD? The Supervision Army (Inspection Army - depending on what translation you consider most accurate) was a task force charged with protecting this weapons development facility creating the EVIL series of Bio weapons. At the time there was a full blown Civil War going on in the Galactic Republic. Subsequently they were the first group to be mind controlled by the PD and like a virus the mind control spread throughout all the ranks the SA came into contact with. Kind of like a "join us or die" situation. The rise of the PD and SA was the principle reason why the civil war ended. Both sides had a common enemy that threatened everyone. The SA and PD manage to wipe out about 85% of the PC before they are imprisoned by "Anima Spiritia" soldiers among the PC forces. What form the Anima Spiritia takes is unclear, all that seems evident is that the force is emotionaly evoctative to the PD and their mind controlled forces. I do like the idea of it being a psychic force which is somethign a bit more paletable that Rainbow Bright love rays, but that is my personal opinion. The flower girl finally getting the flowers to Basara in the final episode was one of the most gratifying moments in the series. The running gag that went on for 49 episodes finally gets resolved. Though the biggest insult had to be Basara essentialy throwing them away right after grabbing them... -
I tend to agree. The original Macross Ace scanlations are open season IMHO, they are out of print and the publisher cancelled it. The newer releases through Newtype Ace are verbotten since we don't want to undermine that current publication.
