  1. Nice to hear from you again Marchy March. Thanks. That hammer logo for the VF-11 is very popular compared to the others, particularly on Pixiv... Though the YF-29 is one of the most popular to the Japanese it seems... Very NICE! These remind me of the dvelopment logos you see, like the F-35 Lightning and such. Do you have them in a higher resolution?
  2. He's doing fighters now!! OUTSTANDING!! Now if only our other brilliant CG artisans posted some more work, we'd really be rockin'!
  3. Do they do that in Japan?? I know they are a lot more honorable about respecting IP rights compared to well, the REST OF THE WORLD!!! I can understand Mari's frustration, but her participation in that show has opened doors to her that she never had. She is an accomplished musician, but she should really talk to Bill Shatner about this. That guy was embarrassed for years about his work on Star Trek until he saw how Patrick Stewart handled the same media scrutiny and Shatner realized he did work he could be proud of. Mari might need to consider that as well, She did work she can be proud of and if all some only remember her for is Macross, then so be it. Hell it is one of the main reasons non-Japanese go to her concerts in North America, is their introduction to her music through Macross. She has built a fan base with her music, made a living doing what she loves and that is something few people can say. Maybe she didn't make it in the US as an actress, but then again how many do? She is more known in Japan than the US, again, not a surprise. Being frustrated about Macross only questions is expected, but what else is really known about here in the West? Not a lot when one considers she's lived in LA for over 15 years. I guarantee you that the Japanese public know more about her life than the majority of Western audiences do... The only way to avoid that is to stop going to anime conventions or getting pre-approval for interview questions and NOT doing Q&A with fans. IMHO, the bottom line is that whatever Macross means to her, it is a large footnote in anyone's life to be associated with anything that has lasted so long. It was an opportunity that jump started her musical career in a way that nothing else could and gave her the noteriety to make a dream job reality for 25 years. I think perhaps she "believes" she is typcast, but that would mean that she's actively sought a career in Voice acting and that simply isn't the case. She did some brilliant work on Macross, she is part of that legacy and she should be proud of that. She will always be asked about her experience playing Minmay, just as Shatner will always be asked about Kirk, Nimoy as Spock, Mark Hamill as Skywalker and Harrison Ford as Solo. When the character you play in a timeless story becomes iconic, then that will dog you till the day you die. Welcome to showbusiness....
  4. I love the Skull insigia on the shield! I've always felt that if a Valk has a sheild, what better way to identify its squadron than putting the squadron logo and fighter number on the sheild... I've done it on all my composites and it's nice to see someone else doing it too...
  5. This is crazy cool!! Work like this is why I would kill to see an international Macross museum somewhere. These projects should be on public display.... WOW
  6. When you open the preview it gives uploaded size, but if you check the file size after you download it or in the "save" page the actual available file is much smaller...
  7. Not me! Typically I find an equal number of haters for Mac ii... To be fair to M7, if you are able to muscle through the repetitive Victor Music merchandizing ,Basara's absence of any growth as a person, and blatantly recycled battle footage, you will enjoy some geniune character growth moments with Gamlin, Mylene and even Sivil. Spliced within the 49 episodes is a pretty decent 24 episode story that delves into how the Galactic republic fell and the relationship between humanity, the Zentradi and the PC, a love triangle between two bad guys and Basara. An intersting dynamic with Max and Millia conflicted over their choice to separate and how it affects their firebrand of a teenage daughter. Even the music will grow on you , unfortunately for some, that happens after they STOP watching the show. The law of diminishing returns was not considered in the making of this series...
  8. Pretty compelling argument for an enemy chopper...
  9. Hey boss, any chance you would be willing to post beauty shots on an image site other than Macross World? The new image management policy here shrinks images down to below 200kb so we are not getting your full resolution shots.. I'm sure I'm not the only one who'd appreciate it.
  10. I forgot this thread existed. Here's a few more recent ones: VF-11 Fighter Patches YF-29 Fighter Patch
  11. Always cool to get those types of insights, but I stand by my initial assessment. If you compare the canopy glare from the F-18 real image to the canopy glare from the VF-1 composite image you will see my point. The glare is out of scale to the aircraft.
  12. Now that you mention it, you are right, I don't believe the VF-1A's thruster feet are color coded to the Valk. I also noticed that the amount of "sheen" on the canopy is quite thick for a real canopy reflection and takes away from the illusion of size in the fighters. I am not sure how well you can hide that since you also have to deal with pilots inside the clear canopy as well and you don't want to ruin that image if you can avoid it.
  13. Are you logged in? Perhaps you need to clear your cookies, sometimes that can affect how pages load...
  14. I dunno, maybe it's the Cinema-Geek in me, but I adore that 1:1 scale VF-25! It is just too cool!
  15. I'm not sure it its her hair, but her face seems a bit long to me...
  16. I agree with with Roy, but I like the subject matter, day in the life type of idea...
  17. I think you are missing my point. NUNS stands for NEW(NEO) UNITED NATIONS SPACY - SPACY is short for Space Navy. So the term for a UN Marine Corps would be NUN Marines (NEW UNITED NATIONS MARINES) That is the point I was making, not whether there is a marine corps or airforce in the UN forces (which I believe there are ... , but that's for another thread...)
  18. Wow quite cool to actually meet the person who did some of that art. I've seen several pieces before and you are right they are rather famous...
  19. Beautiful work , but why "NUNS Marines"? You never see US Navy Marines... I would suggest NUN Marines should suffice, since Spacy is meant to be an abbreviated version of "Space Navy".
  20. We are all very grateful you live sir! Thank you for sharing your amazing work!
  21. NICELY DONE! Not many have the eye to get the light direction on an existing background plate correct.
  22. Aren't these from the Master File books?
