  1. Zoic did the CG work on BSG 2013, Serenity (firefly movie). They are currently working on the TV shows Falling Skies, Once Upon a Time, and Arrow.
  2. Looks interesting. As much as I like the speculated design, I'm getting rather board with the forward swept wings. Ever since M Plus, there has been some sort of incarnation of the design in every Macross production. The law of diminishing returns tells us that if you do the same thing too often, the opposite effect is eventually seen.
  3. OH, that red herring... The perpetual announcements to sell more recycled RT merch. Got it. I keep hoping those fans wake up and realize they are being taken advantage of...
  4. I guess it would depend on how well the sales on the subtitled releases did. It would be unfortunate though. Subbed releases allow for more international sales.
  5. I am doubtful of that. However it is possible "Delta" also refers to a star system like: Delta Pavonis Delta Capricorni Delta Cassiopeiae or any other system they can dream up.
  6. Well that comment regarding aesthetics first followed by mechanical transformations confirms what I've believed when I consider the VF-4 and VF-9 valk designs. Thanks for the insight. The notion of VF vs VF combat has been a trend in Macross since M+ really. M7 featured it, M0, MF to a lesser extent. It is far more visually exciting than fighting battle pods, alien entities and even the Q-Rau (though the Q-Rau has to be one of the most exciting Zentradi mecha shown). The VF combat sequences in M0 were amazing and it allowed Kawamori to really explore the full capabilities of the fighters with all those moving parts. So I am expecting some truly epic dogfights in this series. However if this series is going to be primarily set planetside, I am not so sure we'll see as many bolt on misson packs like we saw with Frontier, but I may be corrected when the show actually airs.
  7. Like the logo. Where is polidread when you need him to give us a vectored version..?
  8. OK, so the Draaken fighter looks very much like it has the sensor canopy we saw with the Galaxy VF-27 design. We'll either see more cyborgs or perhaps micronized Zentradi as most of their fighters in the past seem to favor this type of control system. The transition picture convinces me our hero fighter is likely a "VF-31/32", the production model of the YF-30. As we saw in the differences between the YF-21 and VF-22, the production models do not mirror their prototypes in final look. The only exception I recall is the YF-19, "looked" the same compared to the A and C types, but several of the bells and whistles were removed from it's guts. The question is regarding the "VF-31" wings, where the leading edges seem to be tapered upward like a F-4U Corsair from the angle we get in the picture. The insignia is a placeholder design. We saw a similar design on the fuselage of the purple VF-25 in the teaser clip before Frontier aired. It is similar to the Galaxy Logo, but not very. At this point we do not know who will be involved and what their insignia will look like.
  9. Sure, it will be the VF-39.... Then we'll see the VF-49, the VF-59 and so on and so on... Gimme the SW-XA1 Schneeblume and the SW-XAII Schneegans!!! I can dream can't I?
  10. Is it going to be called "Delta"? ... I love the deliberately vague art! It reminds me of the flyby silhouette of the VF-27 during the opening credits of Frontier and the speculation that caused. We are not allowed to know until the time is right
  11. It is kind of cool to learn the Valkyrie started out as a GERWALK robot design and proceeded form that. I too always thought it was a happy accident discovered after the aircraft was designed.
  12. The best thing to keep in mind with the Macross productions is that Kawamori has stated that all Macross productions and media are "Dramatic Presentations" of historical events in the universe. The historical events may be accurate, but exactly how they occured have been dramatized for the screen, TV or written media. Therefore one must be careful about arguing canon based on a dramatic work.
  13. After watching the MF Movies again this weekend, I am honestly wondering how divergent the new series will be from the Frontier story thread. Many many open questions left by the end of the movies...
  14. Makes perfect sense coming from Hasegawa. They have survived this long by milking Macross molds for every yen they could find. A business model that has served them well for decades.
  15. Did you buy the book and is there a scan of that awesome image available?
  16. Seto Kaiba is our resident expert on the series. He has translated and researched more on the subject than I expect anyone else here.
  17. I totally support that theory, he was certainly a "bug" during the series I am astonished that on a show like M7 the director had the sense to make space near the core blue. Must have been the same team responsible for all the good stuff in between the J-Pop storyline.... it is why I believe the closer humanity would get to the core, the more Zentradi and SA forces they would encounter as well as ruins of PC worlds devastated by both the Civil and PD wars.
  18. I would have to defer to Sketchley to clarify if I am mistaken in my recollection or if the Chronicle retconned some history.
