  1. I have it, i just never stopped to look at the details in the cells before...
  2. Well the UN Spacy kite an be considered the Space Navy's insignia, there is also the UN Air Force, UN Navy and the UN Maries. They can have their own unique insignias to differentiate the equipment from UN Spacy... Something to consider.
  3. The level of detail on these cells are AMAZING! Thank you
  4. The interesting thing about the ARMDs is that that they were only built for the SDFN battleships and the carriers were replaced fairly quickly by the ARMD II series of carriers for general fleet deployment. If the capital ship we've seen in the Delta trailer is indeed a Macross type battleship, the arms are NOT ARMD carriers anymore. So the question of how long the ARMD carriers were used may come into question.
  5. Also one more notion that many people forget. Living in space. The reason the human body ages as it does is due to the affects of solar radiation. If a person lives in space for long perods of time then their body "ages" slower than those on the ground. So Isamu may be pushing 50, but have the body of a 30 year old as it has been spared the typical dosages of solar radiation his contemporaries on planets experience. It also answers the question of how Max and Milia would look so young in M7 despite their relative ages. One could extend this to the Zentradi, who live almost exclusively in space, so it would add to their already long life spans. Now back to our regularly scheduled Delta speculations.
  6. Isamu was blatant fan service. Everyone recognized that immediately. In M7, I expect, they brought back Max and Milia because they were the only popular characters that could be used to tie SDFM and M7 together. It had been a decade since the first series aired. Their presence along with their daughter, also became a plot point in the show. MF chose to tie M7 to MF through music, both Sheryl and Ozma were Firebomber fans.and we saw several direct references to Firebomber in the show. Sheryl borrowing Basara's signature call and Ozma playing Firebomber on his car stereo. In MD's case, it has only been a few years so the market hasn't really forgotten Frontier yet, thus there is less need to tie the two series together as much.
  7. OH GOD, please NO! He's wandering somewhere in the galaxy singing to mountains, let's let him be... As much as I want to see a more political story, this is not an OVA so I doubt I'll get my wish.
  8. You are making the assumption that Kingdoms and artistocracy are indigenous only to humanity. Such a society could evolve on a different world. It is a form of government. The structure you are referring to could very well be an aqueduct or some sort of pipeline. Though to your initial point, if this series is some sort of allusion to a regional cold war, one could argue that in our history there was the splitting of Berlin by a wall. However, the structure does seem to be some sort of pipeline rather than a wall. The trailer and the revealed information suggests the show will reference an inter-system or regional conflict The crystals could be fold quartz, they could be some sort of sound emitting crystals that are utilized by the Tactical team, or be as mundane as cameras..
  9. I'm not so sure that AUN is a generational thing, it would be a sad commentary on a community if it were. The sentiment often comes from specific greivances with the standing government, to the point where active rebellion is at hand. I still hold to the notion that this may be a regional conflict between an indigenous PC seeded race and a nearby NUN colony. I believe the SV series is a nod to the AUN, but IMO it is more a designator for a product developed outside the NUN sphere of influence. A marketing tool to those outside the reach of the NUN that they can purchase equipment not designed and built by the Federal arm of the NUN. I again make the parallel between Russian and Western military tech in the real world.
  10. What I am hoping is that the Macross type battleship is not a "Quarter", but one of the SDFN battleships based on the Megalord design. The design the SDF-2 was going to be before it was converted into the Megaroad colony ship. The Megalord battleship was to be 420m longer than the Macross and since some of the emigration fleets used Macross class battleships to ferry colonists to new worlds. The Megalord design could accommodate possibly double the number of civilians as the original Macross did and would be well suited to that effort. If this story turns out to be a cold war between an indigenous population vs NUN colonists in the same star system, we could very well see a Macross battleship in the area. Keep in mind the Earth could also be considered a "frontier" world compared to the galactic core where I believe the PC Republic was concentrated. So this system may not be too far removed from Earth's region.
  11. The opera is based on a German myth, so I would suspect he became aware of the the mythology and researched it. Maybe he saw Django Unchained and wanted to know more about the Seigfried myth
  12. Frontier opened up the concept of private, independent corporations becoming major players in equipment production in the Macross universe. LAI, SMS and now in Delta whoever is producing the SV series of valks. This will add some interesting dramatic wrinkles moving forward.
  13. The thing is that VF The Ride introduced the idea that Federal forces and Colony forces don't necessarily use the same equipment. So an introduction of a VF-24 would not be completely out of the question. For Bandai it is a matter or reworking the VF-25 molds to accomodate a delta wing fighter. i quess we'll have to wait and see. It could also be a batch of VF-11's for all we know. These are possibly colony worlds after all.
  14. If it wasn't then the source negative is in pretty bad shape to require so much. 35mm film will have substantially more resolution than a 2K Bluray transfer. So once the film stock is digitally cleaned up it should be near perfect, but that costs.
  15. I would find that hard to believe considering HG has zero standing in the Japanese market and Bandai Visual can release what they want under whatever excuse they want to give. "Subtitled for Japanese audiences learning English, etc...) HG can't block Personal imports of Japanese exported Macross products, Yamato took care of that nonsense a decade ago. So as consumers we can purchase any Macross products from Japan without interference.
  16. Mao Nome is Sheryl's grandmother and that is where Sheryl got them from. It was the reason why Kawamori retconned the BD release of Zero with a scene where the ear rings can be seen in the background.
  17. As Chief Director he has final say over the shot does he not? This is what I meant with respect to Delta. Granted he wasn't always the chief director, so his storyboards would have to suffice in the early days. I also read he was responsible for directing the valkyrie battles during SDFM, but that was the total involvement he had with directing back then.
  18. I agree. Where there is a market, there will be a supplier. I'm sure there are governments, independent colonies or even piracy syndicates who are not associated with the NUN or wish to use their tech (to be beholden to them). So another producer is in the mix to supply variable fighter craft to these groups. Using the SV designator is one way to establish the independent nature of these products by invoking the AUA fighter designation from pre-GSW history. The easiest analogy is US military tech vs Russian military tech. US tech is seen licensed or sold to specific allies, whereas Russian tech is sold to pretty much anyone regardless of their world status.
  19. Kawamori choreographs the variable fighter battle sequences. He has since SDFM (with the exception of M2).
  20. Prolly just part of her costume. Nice catch on the hair gems though...
  21. I like 'em both for different reasons. But dude, C'mon, you gotta love the old Daedalus attack on the Cylon colony! That was epic, even if the rest was somewhat convoluted. Now back to our regularly scheduled bickering...
  22. Because M7 stretched the suspension of disbelief to breaking.... This could actually be "Jamming Birds 2.0", as it follows in a similar vein. The JB's were in the jump seats of the VF-11's that were driven by trained pilots. We don't know how this idol group will be involved in the fight, as there doesn't seem to be a direct correlation yet.
