Super Dimension refers to the ship's ability to space fold, not it's size. HG and Macek either didn't know or assumed their audience wouldn't understand, so they changed the name for RT.

If that is what you are looking for then yes, we probably won't see hand drawn cell art like the old days. It is too expensive today compared to the automation of computers. Hell, Japanese studios rarely animate the work themselves. like they used to. It is very often farmed out to Korean animation studios for cell by cell filming.

Consider the fact that Island 1 is much larger than City 7 and that explosive decompression would occur in a confined pressurized place. The hole would cause decompression to be sure, but with a ceiling of 2000m there is a LOT of atmosphere to evacuate as opposed to a small compartment aboard, say a Uraga class carrier. The damage would need to be sealed as soon as possible, but it wouldn't necessarily drain the whole dome immediately.

One interesting speculation about the PBB. It is conceivable that the the Macross itself had a form of energy converting armor and when it was "folded" with the fold system, they discovered that the energy converter could be modified to provide a focused barrier of intense directed energy as opposed to an omnidirectional weak barrier, thus the PBB was born.

That's a possiblility. Considering how multi-purpose it appears to be with a capability of mission specific add-on FAST packs, I wouldn't be surprised if Az is correct in his speculation that it is a next generation JSF fighter in the spirit of the Valkyrie workhorse.

Hmm, if that is what they are referring to then it is entirely possible the bugs are the "Varja" and their pilots / handlers are another race that is to be named later...
