  1. That is a throw back to Miyatake's design for the NMCV carrier and to give it a "new gen" look.
  2. A more likely reason is that with all the more imporant bits to animate, a safety bar was the least important on the priority list...
  3. I am hoping they don't block it, but add subs to flip HG the bird and reach the Western fans.
  4. Windermerean wins at this point strikes me as more of an allegory on unchecked aggression. Historically speaking, unchecked aggression often requires greater resources and much more destruction to stop after it has taken a foothold. This may be a similar situation. Germany annexed or took over 7 neighbouring territories in the decade prior to WW2 and the world did nothing. The Nazi's were clearly aggressive, but the world governments "hoped" it would end when they got the germanic regions, but it didn't. They didn't act until Poland was invaded and by then the Nazi military machine was nearly too powerful. Chaos is a Mercenary group with limited regional resources and a specific mission. They are not really equipped or positioned for this type of war. They are a reactionary force trained and deployed to react to Var outbreaks. Expecting them to act with all the resources and depth of a military force, be they NUNS or even the SMS is asking for more than their mandate and what they are equipped to do. Sure it is frustrating to see the enemy get so many wins and I would expect Johnson is also feeling that same frustration, but he can't let his crew know that or even express it publicly. Perhaps the gambit to take on the SV was an act of frustration, we don't exactly know yet. Even if his strategy was to split the Elysion into 3 ships, his tactics against an unknown, clearly technologically advanced target would appear to be almost an act of desperation than having a tenable tactical advantage.
  5. Look at it this way. All the models created for MF are being used in MD. The skins may be different, but the models are the same. The only new cap ship models for this series are the Macross Elysium and the Segur Valence, so far...
  6. LOL, I love Hasegawa! They've made a mint from Macross with the same old molds and all they've had to do was print new decals. In this case they are adding a new cockpit tub for the kit which I'm sure will be on it's very own sprew (aka not retooling the original mold, just creating a new one for the new cockpit)... They are one smart company! They let Bandai, with the deeper pockets, do all the heavy lifting with the new valk designs.
  7. Does is come after 3, but before 5? Though for the most obscure that happen to be my favorites, they are the SW-XAI Schneeblume & SW-XAII Schneegans.
  8. To be fair. We've only seen what colony worlds fly. The core Federal forces could very well be flying VF-24's. We have yet to see any Federal fleets in action since M7, before the NUN decentralized. It is doubtful any emigration fleets being launched in the 2060's would have anything other than VF-171's with the exception of a few SpecOps squads with more advanced fighters assigned to them. Maybe a VF-25 derivative or perhaps a VF-24 derivative with a different designation, like a VF-26 or VF-2400, which would be a less advanced economy version, like the VF-3000 and VF-5000 were in their day.
  9. If Epsilon did indeed detonate the weapon, perhaps they orchestrated the joint venture with Windermere to get their hands on the Sigur Valens and learn her secrets. PC tech is in great demand and understanding how it works is quite the prize for an amoral corporation.
  10. Already taking sides? Excellent work!
  11. Finally saw the subs, well done. I am finding that SK is becoming a much more adept story teller in Delta. Instead of pandering like in M7 and to a lesser extent in MF, he is using each episode to focus on a particular part of the overall story. Well done! Still not clear how the Windermere have come to the conclusion that they are the heirs to the PC though, even Keith expressed his doubts. I get the sense this series is similar to M7, but much better written. There are love triangles, but they take a back seat to the story over all. MF had a very strong triangle arc, but this one is much more subdued like M7. The serenade to Messer was very haunting at the end, I loved it! We are nearly halfway through and there is plenty of meat on the bones already! The hidden PC SDF cap ship was a nice reveal, not a fan of the ornate nature of it, but I understand why SK may have made that choice. At the height of the glory days of the PC republic, form was more important than function. It appears to me it may have been hidden on purpose, perhaps the cluster was one of the PC outposts we heard about in the official chronology. One of the last vestages of Protoculture fleeing the Zentradi slaughter. I don't hold out much hope for the NUNS fleet engaging a PC battle wagon though. She may only be at partial capacity, but even a wounded shark is still a shark.
  12. We get our first look at a PC SDF. A little too ornate for my tastes and by its size I suspect it was a CnC ship for a long gone fleet or perhaps a remnant of a long gone PC fleet battling the Zentradi. It was hidden underground, suggesting to me it was hidden on purpose. I am leaning very strongly that this region was one of the PC outposts we heard about in the chronology. I am doubtful the Windermere are direct decendants though. The PC SDF is a beast! She has to be at least 5km long!
  13. Love all SD Valks. AWESOME!! How about a VF-25 and VF-31? As I said, I LOVE SD Valks , well anything SD Macross really...
  14. A remaster of the remaster that relic released?
  15. Perhaps SK is setting up a SW2. If Windermere successfully mind controls most of the sector, NUNS will have to get involved and bring the full weight of the Federal forces into the fray to battle mind controlled fleets commandeered by Windermere. Very much like how WW2 started. Germany started out small, but when they crossed a certain point, Europe and the British Commonwealth declared all out war. It was 2.5 years into the war in Europe before the US jumped in, after Germany's ally Japan attacked Pearl Harbor.
  16. No, we were getting a sense of how combat in all three modes of a variable fighter would be like and it was epic! Delta seems to be suffering from a lack of choreography from Kawamori-san.
  17. I get the sense Bogue is getting set up for a major change of heart. If his mentor gets fragged by Keith maybe, particularly after a confession of doubts in the cause, it may turn him. I have to agree regarding the Messer / Keith dog fights. The Roy / DD dogfights in Zero were epic! In that OVA, SK showcased all the Valk modes in combat and it was amazing! BTW, where are all the Drakkens we saw on Windemere?
