  1. The OST will be pretty good if the few songs we've heard are any indication...
  2. You can tell by the "D" in the title, denoting the Deculture edition...
  3. It is a product of HG indoctrination of their fanboys. "HG owns all things Macross...you must believe before you get your obsequious toadie badge..."
  4. Actually for the OP & ED vids linked on the first page, you change the extensions of the FLV files to AVI, you get a better resolution. According to FLV Extract these are not actual FLV files. I guess someone took an ordinary AVI file changed the extension and uploaded it as an FLV video...
  5. I still believe he's seen it, however a capital ship hull split to reveal a Buster Cannon was not reserved only to Mac II. They used the idea from DYRL. I personally like it. It brings the Battle class carriers back to their roots. The Macross' cannon was integrated into the ship, not a separate part that attached to gigantic mandible hands. In the Battle 25, the gun is part of the right arm and it returns to the idea of the static discharge powerup that the Macross cannon had. Who knows it may be another way to differentiate it from the RT universe, since their "syncro cannons" fire very much like the Battle 7's cannon, albeit not from an inexplicable gigantic hand...
  6. Yeah, possibly, but I will take a wait and see attitude with the Batte 25... Based on the sillouettes near the end of the OP, the Burgundy VF we saw during the 25th anni special is indeed a fighter. What its designation of will be is still unkown. I doubt it's a VF-24, since the YF-24 was the prototype for the VF-25 according to published literature. I suspect it's a Zentreadi fighter, possibly an update to the VF-14, like the VF-171 was to the VF-17. We'll see.
  7. Heh, I haven't done this since the first two seasons of BSG... Should be fun! Hmm, that could very well be the same files on Tokyo Toshokan, it was uploaded at a few minutes after midnight...
  8. Negative, Tokyo Toshokan has it already and I'm sure it is disseminating quite quickly by now...
  9. FYI The raw anime torrents for ep 1 are up on the sites....
  10. I suspect the Nome name is NOT coincidental. Kawamori can be a very specific story craftsman when he wants to be. We found out in the Manga that Ozuma sort of adopted Lanka as a little sister, so her origins are still a mystery. If Sheryl is anima spiritia as a result of her bloodline, then that would pose quite a dilemma for the Varja if they are seeking one and both Lanka and Sheryl should possess the ability. I don't think it is so much shrinking the universe Marchingtonowhere, as a plot device to explain why the Varja didn't simply swarm the fleet, wipe it out and move on. We know the Nome's are indirect decendents of the first protoculture and thus possess unique protoculture-like abilities. Keep in mind the theme of the franchise is the legacy of the Protoculture, not mankind's travels across the stars. Besides, if they nuked the fleet it would be an awfully short series and we wouldn't get more of Kano's amazing music... With each successive series (excluding Mac Plus) more of the mystery of the enigmantic PC is revealed. I expect this show will be no different.
  11. weren't all the Spacy insignia on the F-14s low vis? I can't recall at the moment...
  12. What do you mean? I can see it clearly enough....
  13. Yeah if I had the cash to throw around, I'd try to entice him to come out of retirement long enough to to comission builds of a few kits I have on my shelf. I absolutely love his work!!
  14. Makes one wonder if somehow it's tied up in the Bandai licensing of the VF-11C? There is also the fact that it was never featured as a "hero" fighter, therefore Hasegawa may feel it wouldn't give them a decent return on their tooling investment. Anyone ever seen a Hasegawa VF-5000 or a Macross Zero Octo? No, because they weren't "hero"/ "villan" mecha. That is why the garage kit industry is so prominent in Japan. They fill the gaps that the major manufacturers leave open in terms of model kits...
  15. I wonder if it's like store exclusives here? Where to get it early you have to jump through the hoops the sponsor puts out and then after a certain period has elapsed, it goes to wide market.... The amount of money Revoltech "could" make in wide release is pretty large compared to an exclusive licensing fee...
  16. Really? Kaifun managed that group? I had no idea!
  17. It makes sense as there are so many homages to SDFM in this series, particularly Michel's blue paint scheme and the fact that he is top of his flight class and resembles Max...
  18. You might have something there, Marchingdowntothesewagepipe... It features title screens from the various shows in the lower left hand corner. I too would love all those MF posters, particularly the one with Alto in the cockpit and flanked on either side by the girls...
  19. Mmm. dare we hope it's the "Gold Book" of the franchise? Dare we?!
  20. Keep in mind that the recap sequence also shows all the fleets leaving at the same time. One must be wary of selective canonizing... Besides, if the show does delve into the mystery of the Megaroad 01 fate, the last thing any director would want to do is reveal the surprise in the recap sequence of the first episode... We'll have to see how things play out I expect.
  21. It appears that the "A" designation was abandonded in the early 2040's with the VF-19A. Since this is a direct sequel to Mac 7, the "F" makes sense.
