  1. Your damn SW references had me looking for the SW Manga again last night...
  2. They have the 1920 raws for the first 2 eps, but then it seems that group stopped releasing. Yes the 1280x720p is considered an HDTV resolution (Stand Digital was my bad, damn Wikipedia! I should have taken the time to do more research). http://www.cnet.com/4520-7874_1-5137915-1.html http://www.hdtvinfoport.com/HDTV-Resolution.html However, if the show is coming out on Bluray, exactly why "upconvert" anything? If your source is 1920x1080p, then you simply downcovert so as not to reinvent the wheel. Downconverting retains the quality of the HD source. Whether it be for broadcast or even authoring a standard DVD. You see a substantial difference between a 480p picture upconverted to 1080I resolution and a 1080p resolution on a 42" HDTV (already did the experiment). The smaller the screen the more forgiving the upconvert. Anyway, what we are getting seems to be a 720p HD picture and I have no issues with that.
  3. You sir have earned an Obsequious Tuna Badge for shameless self promotion...
  4. Um, I'd question that. I've seen raws in 1920x1080 which IS the HDTV resolution. If anything the resolution is down converted to 1280x720 which is standard digital resolution. If you up convert, you will get minor pixelation and dithering, which the higher resolutions didn't have and it would be 1080I, not 1080p which is noticable, particlularly on PC monitors. If it is indeed not broadcast in 1080p, then it is certainly broadcast in digital resolution which is higher than analog's 720x480.
  5. I am curious about this Mikimoto cult? Animators hated working with his complex character designs and they didn't always come accross as beautiful on screen as they appeared on paper. Mac Plus didn't have Mikimoto and it is generally regarded as a fan favorite in the west, even Zero had a different character designer. I like the refreshing change (doesn't hurt I liked the character designs of Eureka 7). The designs lend themselves well to both comedy and emoting of the characters. IMO. Mikimoto is signed on to do the merchandizing artwork, such as DVD covers, posters, etc... I'm very happy about that. Trying to revive the glory days when he was a young struggling artist taking any jobs he could is a bit much for me. I love his art, but am also ready for the new breed to show me their stuff as well.
  6. Still would be... Look at what ADV put out...
  7. I got my set from their "fire" sale when they were blowing out their stock before HG took over their existing inventory. So they got my $120.00 (1/2 price). I'll probably pick up the HG cheapo set as a back up to my AE set...
  8. Makes one wonder if Animeigo sold their copies of the masters back to Bandai visual along with the remastered audio? The masters they created are still their own, since they did the work themselves and there is no copyright infringement if they sell their work "back" to the Japanese rights holders... It would be quite shrewd if it were true and confirmed...
  9. That gunpod looks custom. I've never seen one like that before, at the back half...
  10. Well his strength is his ability with communications and computers. He probably was looking for an automatic lock-on from the VF-25 and when it couldn't he was lost. Michel on the other hand was an accomplished combat pilot able to think on his feet so to speak and didn't need to rely on the fighter's auto systems to fight.
  11. I hadn't considered the tank would be used to create reactant... It does make a lot of sense when explained that way...
  12. I believe there are ships under construction in it, however I would have to review the frames to be definitively sure one way or the other... Edit: Nope you're right, it definitely looks like a mooring dock, yet we are not shown the bottom of it. Hard to tell if it's on a tower or free floating...
  13. Openning of the Deculture edition before the colony graphics went up. Now then again, we don't see all of it, so there is the possiblity that the shipyard is "on top" or somehow attached to the factory as well... So my comment about visual retcon is probably premature...
  14. There, there, Marchysuckybaby.... Here have your bottle...
  15. I dunno, the "G" seems to be a specialized VF-25A to me with equipment to serve a specific function. I'm not sure who said it, but the VF-25 seems like it is set up like a sqaud of soldiers as opposed to a generic squadron that just happens to transform into Battroids with common weapons loadouts... I am liking it...
