  1. Yes, it does, "OneSeventyOne"...
  2. Still sticking to the Drakken II... C'mon, it even LOOKS like a Dragon....
  3. Guaranteed there'll be variable on variable dogfights. Ever since Plus, the fans have seemed to demand it... RIP Regult...
  4. No KIDDING! I completely missed that without my micron microscope version of Photoshop "F"... I was looking for the white insignia! I thought the other one was just a uniform patch... Very interesting, yet plausible...
  5. As for Fade Rathnik's disertation. One point to keep in mind, that the VF-19 came in 4 variants. The VF-19A, VF-19F, VF-19S and the VF-19P (excluding the Kai as it isn't a production variant). The F & S were both space optimized, hence the fixed, shorter wings. As for the VF-171, it is entirely possible that changes in political climate could have necessitated a need for a cheap, quickly produced fighter to replace an either aging or possibly reduced number of 19s in service. The VF-25 definitely isn't using a bleeding edge spaceframe design as in previous models, but more a utilitarian design augmented with bolt on, mission specific combat packs. It's advances are more internal and mechanical, rather than aesthetic.
  6. The only beam cannons I know of are on the Armor Pack. The rest seem like conventional munitions to me.
  7. I'd need better proof that they are indeed NUNS, that pic really doesn't show the NUNS insignia, just the Galaxy's. I'd wager that the "S" looking insignia near the VF-25's cockpit is a simplified Frontier logo... Although if Galaxy personel are part cyborg (with all the implants), it would make them somewhat adept at using a VR cockpit control system compared to the Frontier fleet. Although the BFG pod is very, shall we say..."Gundam"...
  8. If they truly want to boost sales they'll announce an English subtitle track for all their bluray releases. Then they'll see a sudden increase in pre-orders from foreign countries...
  9. Makes me wonder if these stones are sensitive to some sort of Psychic energies released through singing? The whole concert bit was akin to a psychic link between Ranka and Sheryl and we know the lobsters are mindless living weapons (zombies if you will) with the ability to be controlled by some unrevealed means, possibly by the mental direction of their handlers... Many interesting questions posed in the last few eps...
  10. The way I reconcile the lot is simply that SDFM is a tv series chronicle of the events of SW1 and DYRL is a film of the same events in the universe. I tend to agree that those shows are not taken as absolute canon by the anime production teams (possibly because they don't actually own that animation outright anymore). Its almost as if they've shifted their focus from the productions to the Nue continuity timelines and dance within those areas, adjusting whatever doesn't fit with the current production.
  11. These are soooo sweet!! I love Macross cartoons and custom Chibi's are even better!!! Thanks for the post...
  12. I have an extra copy of the game if you are interested, just PM me...
  13. Dude, love the takeoff shot!! Any possiblity of getting that in 1280x1024 without the large name (a small signature line along the taskbar area works the best I find)? It would be perfect to add to my macross wallpaper collection...
  14. Well no surprise the raws are so few, 2 of the major anime raw providers were busted, so things are gonna be a bit lean until others take their place...
  15. The Macross Quarter? Well it apparently has hands, so anything's possible now...
  16. I get the impression that each colony world is an independent entity, with its own government et al. It is not such a huge stretch to consider that such a large fleet as the Frontier wouldn't already have a built in government. So when they do find a habitable planet to colonize, the political infrastructure is already in place. It is probably the same with all the super long distance fleets, not just Frontier.
  17. Actully Macross started as a parody and then became a serious space opera, followed by the equally serious Macross Plus, Mac 7 was more of a manga type story (according to Kawamori) with a very strong emphasis on Music. Plus was a more serious story as well, despite its ending. Now Mac Frontier is following in the dramatic footsteps of SDFM. From my calculations, Kawamori likes the dramatic aspects of the universe as opposed to the J-Pop heavy younger demographic, judging by the tone of all the Macross projects he has directly been involved in. In Mac 7 he provided the story outlines and mecha designs and was filiming Mac Plus while Mac 7 was on the air.
  18. Ah yes... I remember it welll.... The GI Joe of the Macross Franchise.... It's OK, war is fun! See, only the vehicles get destoryed, no one really gets hurt in a war....
  19. Well there are many financial considerations with respect the the VF-19. Bandai, Yamato, Hasegawa, etc... have the VF-19 as a hero fighter in their catalog. Relegating it to CF might affect those sales (at least in their minds), thus it may have been that SK planned on using the 19 as a CF, but BW partners and sponsors of the shows wouldn't have it. The hero comment may have been to save face in the wake of being told "you can't do that" by the money men.
  20. Time to leave.... http://macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=26114
