  1. Wow next you'll be claiming he animated the whole SDFM series by himself and found the cure for cancer at the same time... He's a good story teller and a great variable fighter designer with the added bonus that he can direct VF sequences better than anyone else...so far... He is hardly a god and some need to keep that in mind...
  2. A question to the Gundam 00 fans. Was that show initially announced as having 2 seasons or was the number mentioned at all?
  3. Well he created the universe, then storyboarded the eps, designed the VF-1 and directed the VF-1 sequences of SDFM. He was the junior man on that team. However, his subsequent works in the universe have been quite interesting (despite his limited involvement with M7). Aesthetically, yes. Both designs benefited from the design experiments that created the SV-51.
  4. Wasnt' there a warning by the mods about using too much "netspeak" on the forums?
  5. I disagree. The YF-24 would have been the prototype of the VF-25 and I expect there is still an unmentioned YF-26 prototype out there as well. It appears SK has taken to skipping a number in the fighter designations to allow for the YF series prototypes to exist. The fighters share a common transformation sequence and that is where the similarities end. For all we know the YF-23 was the first fighter to incorporate such a sequence and NUNS then required all new manufacturers to incorporate the new sequence into their proposed fighter designs.
  6. Could you do an animated one in 128x128? Thanks
  7. The Babelfish translation for those interested: No sources have been referenced for this chronology.
  8. Windows Media Player seems to have problems syncing up the codecs. I have the same issue. But with the VLC player they sync up perfectly....go figure...
  9. Episode 9 reveals the whole Mikhail/Michel discrepancy (well at least to us ). The Japanese VA pronounciation of Micheal sounds like Mikhail (or Meekail), where as his nickname is Michel and only his friends call him that. At the end of episode 9 Alto refers to him as Michel for the first time in the cemetary.
  10. Definitely getting a Nirvash vibe from the Vf-27 head!
  11. I think I finally figured out the whole Mikhail / Michel mess. The character's name is Micheal Blanc. Hence the pronounciation sounding like Mikhail (or Mikal), but his friends call him Michel as a nick name. Finally understood what was going on there, only took 9 eps to clear that up...
  12. Fair enough, translate please.... Oh wait why don't we simply ask Clyde01. He is listed as the translator for the info on this ship... He will know where he translated the info from. Funny how those who can-do, and those that can't are the critics...
  13. Actually that is incorrect. BD has always had region coding, whether the BDA is strictly enforcing it is another matter. The benefit of any HD (as in BD, since it's the only one left) disc is that NTSC and PAL are no longer issues for worldwide release of movies on HD. No special encoding is really required, thus less time and money will be spent preparing a disc for the Euro market or vice versa, since the HDTVs can accept both sources. The only issue is going to be with the region coding, if applied. As for Japanese BDs having no subs, Bandai Visual is planning the next "Freedom" BD disc to be released worldwide, with multiple sub tracks. This is the wave of the future for anime releases, kids. Cutting out the middleman and shipping direct to the consumer is how the anime studios will begin to see the profits from the Western Home Video market. ADV can claim online downloads are killing them all they want, but the reality is that the market they helped to grow will leave them behind as the once preyed upon anime studios begin to profit from their own works directly.
  14. Talk is cheap, please provide proof. *Waits for proof, taps fingers on desk...*
  15. Well what was the warp bubble or shield? Auto omni-barrier to protect the ship during folds? I don't recall any ships being destroyed while folding was in progress. I find a automated barrier a much more plausible argument that fits in with the current production other than the fold in Frontier is a "new" type. Anyway, a few mental musings....
  16. Why? Basara kept his hair fart when he played Hikaru in M7... Actually if he did, imagine the fallout from his father!!! In hollywood he would and it would be a symbolic break from his Kabuki roots and an acceptance of his new life as a pilot, but this aint hollywould...
  17. Makes sense since it is the most efficient and versatile transformation sequence to date...
  18. A part of me wonders if the automated fold system aboard the Macross used a form of omni-directional barrier before it folded? With the new series showing the fold as a portal as opposed to an event, is it not possible that the city on South Ataria island was scooped out by a barrier? The crew wouldn't know about the omni barrier since the fold system was lost after they re-emerged in normal space. They later constructed one with the remnants of the fold system, which makes me wonder if the the barrier was somehow originally integrated into the system by the PC and only used in extreme emergencies like we saw in M7 and VF-X2...?
  19. I didn't say anything about Michel suspecting anything, the suspicious one is me... Silly rabbits.... Phil, we try not to talk about those silly Valks from Mac 7 in this thread...
  20. I think the enemy in Jessica's friendly fire incident was deliberately left vague to be flashbacked to later. I think their is much more to that incident than we are being shown at the moment and that the suicide was not one at all. If the incident took place 4 years prior I suspect they had the VF-171 by that point as a special forces fighter before it was adopted as a front line fighter later (they could have been 17's, but we can't really be sure from the footage). The reason why Klan smacked Michel's valk was because I expect that she's been carrying a torch for him for a while and he just hasn't noticed. Which is demonstrated by why he didn't understand her reaction to "his" joke... The egg ship is definitely giving me an Alien IV vibe. I suspect that there is indeed a cold war going on to some extent, or perhaps this is the birth of it, with one side trying to get an advantage over the other with Vajra technology. The VF-27 reminds me of a hybrid design between the VF-4 and SV-51 with the beam cannons on the engine nacelles. The beam gunpod/micro-SD Cannon definitely gives it a formidable weapon.c As for the question about the VF-26, there wasn't one, I suspect. Kawamori has taken to skipping a number to assign it to the prototypes. The VF-25 had a YF-24 and I'd expect the VF-27 had a YF-26...
