  1. How do you account for the mothership and their cap ships? Very advanced for a reverse engineered product. If THAT much tech was able to be reproduced then why wasn't it incorporated more by the 2050's? The M3 argument you made also supports the idea that the Vajra are more a PC creation than human. Bugs would be relatively easy to reproduce, but the advanced weaponry the Vajra have tends to imply a much more advanced tech is at work here. What you propose is not impossible, but lately SK's themes tend to lean toward revealing more about the PC enigma rather than not. That is why I have a proclivity to expect they are somehow related to the PC legacy.
  2. NUNS doesn't have the technological savvy to engineer any bio-weaponry. It is possible that the Vajra are what the PC created to protect themselves after the breakdown in command and control with the Zentreadi. The Vajra warships are far too advanced and appear to be bio-mechanical in nature, far beyond human tech. It is possible that they were dormant when the research fleet came across them and somehow activated them inadvertantly on Galia IV. Hence the Global being "parked" on the planet over the underwater "base". The Global may not have crash landed, but rather was wrecked during the battle when they woke the Vajra and Ranka's family died as the survivors attempted to escape. I suspect Ozma knows more about what happened there than he has thus far let on. I don't know about them evolving into a more human like species, but I suspect that Ranka was experimented on, along the lines of gene splicing and probably implantation of crystals in her abdomen (its equally possible that she is a clone of her grandmother Mao). The Sheryl theory seems like a pretty strong one. She doesn't know who her parents were (possibly a clone (maybe from Nome blood)) and then they gave her a name that strongly relates her to the Nome family line. Maybe they were grooming Sheryl to recreate the Basara phenomenon for some reason. What her ultimate role in relation to the Vajra was to become is still unkown, but as soon as Ranka appeared, it seems Sheryl became "expendible". This episode strongly implies that Galaxy/Eden/Brella were involved with the Research mission and that at the very least they were tampering with the Vajra in some way, which ultimately went sideways.
  3. The other error is that the Macross 5 fleet encountered the Varuata only months before the Macross 7 fleet not years since the two were in direct contact with one another before contact was lost shortly thereafter. The loss of contact we learn was because the PD had attacked the fleet and captured much of the population for their Spiritia farm.
  4. Maybe parts of it, like CG or 2D animation, but most likely it is in the final few episodes by now (unless it goes to a second season). Most series are in the can months before the final air date. In this case, if the series is mostly shot, they'd be working on cleaning up sequences for the BD and DVD releases. The first 2 eps of the regular season are scheduled to come out on Disc in September...
  5. My guess would be 1620 since the Macross was limited by the size of the ASS-1 which it was a humanized restoration of.
  6. Or it was a wreck and since they have little affinity for repair, it was useless to them and/or had already been gutted for all useful materials. It is also entirely possible that is where they got the Reaction missiles from. I doubt NUNS would supply a remote Zentreadi outpost with dozens of reaction weapons...
  7. I am Zinjo and I agree with this post.... But let's be real here people! Shadow Chronicles is sooo much better! The CG is better, character designs and dialog are clearly superior and the music, Oh my.... Kawamori could learn a LOT from SC!
  8. You're right, my bad. I read the wrong line in the compendium. Thanks
  9. The last Megaroad may have sailed no later than 2029 since the New Macross 1 was built in 2030. However we only know of 13 for sure and the Megaroad 13 launched in 2014.
  10. Hence the reason why I did. Thanks Shun for the clarification.
  11. A military industrial complex like LAI, General Galaxy perhaps? The only ones who really profit from war are the weapons makers...
  12. Hard to say. If indeed SDF battleships did accompany Megaroads, then what do you do with them when the fleet colonizes? The Global could be at least 20 years old at the time of it's assignment to the research fleet, well past it's prime, not the newest Macross class and without any fleet to accompany. Could it have been assigned to a duty that doesn't require the type of resources that a 2050 era colony fleet needs? Possibly or it could be like the Macross 5 fleet with multiple City ships...

  14. I am suspecting it is an SDF since that is the classification number for the Macross Class fortress. The NMC's generally are called "Macross-##", Macross 05, Macross 07, Macross 25. The SDF-1 and "initially" the SDF-2 battleships were given names, "Macross" and "Megalord" respectively. Whether the the Megaroads listed in the known fleet names (Megaroad 03-SDF 04, Megaroad 04-SDF 05) have an incorporated battleship is what I am curious about. The naming conventions in MF are pretty consistent. Frontier NMC25, Galaxy NMC21 and we know that the Frontier is the Colony ship and the NMC 25 is the battle carrier. The Megaroad naming is in the same convention, Megaroad 04 SDF5. Could it be that Megaroad is the name of the type of colony ship with the SDF designated for a battleship? Granted the Megaroad 01 did not have a battleship from all art we've seen, however no information is available as to what constituted subsequent fleets thereafter. So we simply don't know for sure.
  15. Nah, it will be Brera eating the salad ultimately, to save his little sister...
  16. It may speak to Alto's inexperience. He's talented, but doesn't have the combat awareness needed to effectively beat Brera...
  17. As far as we can tell its of similar size to the original Macross class and the term Super Dimension Fortress refers to its Space Fold capability, not its size.
  18. Too early to make that conclusion as I'd suspect more will be heard about the Global. SDF is the classification number of the Macross Class and is also used in conjunction with the Megaroad fleets. How Kawamori reconciles the two hasn't been revealed yet (hopefully it will be in this series), since in the Deculture edition's cg graphic of the fleet movements both terms are used ("Megaroad 04, Super Dimension Fortress 3"). We'll have to wait and see if this is ever answered.
  19. I'm wondering if the Megaroad Class became like the City Class in the NMC era. The Quarter appears to me to be like a surgical strike carrier, not meant for large capital ship on capital ship engagements like the NMC's are, but smaller cap ship engagements.
  20. I'm wondering that myself. That eye was not the queen's, however it may be part of the mothership...
