    I am a bit wary of using Airbnb. I have heard horror stories regarding homeowners having hidden cameras setup inside bedrooms, bathrooms, etc. I sort of feel like a hotel is a bit safer on that regard.... but that is just me.

    I would probably classify the 35th anniversary HMR VF-1S under "Delta", as a Delta-era homage to the classic design. Similarly, if the red and blue HMR VF-1EX valkyries were ever released, I would put them under "Delta" as well.

    Also, if you are looking for a hotel to stay at, I would suggest Hotel Edoya. They are relatively cheap in my opinion, have both Japanese and Western-style rooms (aka futon on floor vs. a bed), a small open-air onsen (bath) on the roof, wi-fi internet access, and are a short walk from the Ocha no Mizu railway station and a slightly longer walk to Akihabara's shopping district. Each room also has its own bathroom with Japanese-style deep tub. Also included is the hotel's all you can eat breakfast buffet that serves Japanese-style selections such as rice, miso soup, tamagoyaki (rolled-up sweet egg omelette), raw egg to mix with your rice, baby sausage wieners, tazukuri (sweet, dried and cooked sardines), pickled vegetables, agedashi dofu (lightly fried tofu in a tentsuyu... how do I explain it.... fish stock-based broth) , and more. They also serve croissants. Their breakfasts are the best! They are also across the street from a love hotel, so if you are bored you can watch couples go in and out of the love hotel while you count all the valkyries you bought earlier in the day. There is also a FamilyMart convenience store about 3 blocks away. Oh yeah, I believe their front desk staff can speak English... I think? Just a suggestion, if you want something less expensive than a big name hotel chain, but something much more comfortable than a capsule hotel, that is a hop, skip, and jump from the anime and figure stores.

    If you are in Akihabara, you should also check out the various Liberty shops, which sells everything from anime CDs, BDx, DVDs, and collectibles, including toys, both new and used. The locations with the pinkish-red rectangular marker are Liberty stops that sell figures, namely Liberty 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, and 8.

    I have to admit, I do like that the Fast Packs include LED lights for the main engines and maneuvering thrusters. Also that the VF-1S come with a stand. 1/72 scale, huh? Ugh... not another form factor. *Sigh*

    I don't know who the author is to get context. But assuming it is from a distributor, then it sounds like they will still be shipping things out til sometime in June rather than being finished during Golden Week as originally scheduled. Alternatively, I suppose maybe the person tweeting was expecting to have received one during Golden Week, but instead has to wait til June. Like I said... I don't know the context.

    I know that a few weeks ago I swore I would not venture out of the VF-1 realm... that I would avoid M7, M+, etc... But YJA did me in with the VF-19 Kai, and it was downhill from there. *sigh*

    So... out of curiosity, which is the better toy, between the Bandai DX VF-171 and the Yamato 1/60 VF-17, in terms of line art accuracy, build quality/durability, and transformation? As I understand it, the VF-17 is like handling a porcupine, whereas the VF-171 is likely to have wing tabs pop off and plastic triangles exploding?

    Well, the eBay description itself even says this was a 2016 release item. No other date exists in the eBay description that indicates a separate shipping date. You can probably get eBay to cancel your order due to incorrect or deceptive description. Note however you will only get refunded what you actually paid. If you used an eBay coupon, eBay reclaims their couponed portion for themselves.

    Actually, I have no idea what the original retail price for the 17S was back in the day. Wasn't it around the 9000 yen range like the original retail prices for the Yamato v2 VF-1 toys, not including super/strike parts?

    *sigh* So.... I just ordered a MISB Yamato 1/60 VF-17S on eBay.... despite the fact that I am already going to be getting one soon from @SuperDimensionalDave as part of a trade. I claim that the stupid eBay 15% off coupon made me do it. That cut the eBay price from $172.99 down to $147.04 with free shipping. Part of me keeps saying "I'm so stupid!" repeatedly to myself.... but another part of me says "But it was a good price!" I hope that was a good price. Was it a good price? Please tell me that was a good price. Please don't tell me I did not only buy a duplicate, but overpaid for the duplicate too. Please? *worried look*

    Hmmm.... On the one hand, the shipping box is meant to absorb the travel damage that would otherwise be inflicted to the contents, so that's good at least. On the other hand, what the heck are they doing to the box... using it as a kickball for a pack of wild elephants?
